Reserves (Beowulf): Have the Argonauts already on the field with the Beowulf in reserve. This should confuse the Free Brothers and convince them to drip feed some additional reinforcements hopefully.

Legio-Galbinus Enclave Grounds
I'm going to scrap these bastards.
Such were typical of the thoughts running on loop in Bandit's mind. For Metatrine knew how long, he had been stuck in the sustainment platform that their scaffold job masquerading as a technician Patch placed him in. And ol' mighty Galbinus himself had questions for him. Treating it all like it was an interrogation booth back on Mekaen proper even.
All Bandit could fume about was just how many lost deals he missed out on while being stuck here! So many scraps of 'excess' energy processing that he couldn't siphon from the Free Brothers' raids. So many additional arms to the Westphalians that he couldn't pawn off on them - PJH had probably found ways to replicate them on his own too. And he never got to try and fleece anything off of the other guy - the one who made the big monster lizards. Oh, what he could have done with those.
Yet he was stuck here. The rest of his body was a write off, now he was just stuck with his cranial unit, and they were supposed to be transporting him somewhere else.
But above all, he was confused. Who the depths were these Kausen?
"Sustainment bed holding with consistent vitals," the Kaus next to Iris kept muttering to himself. "Adjustment required? No. Need to hold for-"
"Do you always talk to yourself like that?" she finally asked. He'd been going on like that for the last three hours, and it wasn't looking like he was going to stop anytime soon.
"Most times," he replied. Architect - a mostly grey colored Kaus with black highlights and a black-tinted visor over his eyes - turned to face her. Unlike other Kaus, Architect didn't tower over her the same way Ichiro or Cavalier did - only mostly taller in the way that Richard was with Jessica. "Find it soothing. Easy to visualize and compute vocally then translate to action." He tilted his head. "You don't?"
"No," she admitted. "Find it easier to watch and observe." She glanced over at the sustainment bed, where a very irate looking Bandit was glaring at everything and everyone. The intensity lessened into confusion as he glanced over at her, before resuming his glare at just about everything else. The sound dampening meant that aside from very angry muffled noises, she couldn't make out anything he was saying. Probably for the better.
"Suspect your siblings are throwing off the others," Architect wryly commented. Both sets of optics glanced over at to where Nailhead and Charlie were being harangued by Tracker. Between the bulk offered by Charlie's Phalanx alt-form and Nailhead's general bulk, they were impressively shrinking in on themselves as the older Kaus was lecturing them over...something. "Though in some cases, nothing changes."
Iris blinked as she stared over at the display. Tracker was rather animated, and whatever answer Charlie had given was clearly not the one he was hoping for, as his arms gesticulated even more wildly. Maybe if-
"If he asks, I'm not here, okay?" Iris turned around, and stared at Frankie as he made himself look busy looking over the sustainment bed console. "I'm not getting dragged into that."
Architect's response was short and blunt. "Wise." His lips narrowed slightly as a slight tremor began to rock the area around them. "But best make ready. Trouble's afoot."
"They'll never know what hit 'em!"
At least, that was what Crackdown's rather optimistic prognosis was. Scrapheap just sighed as the boisterous carousing only got worse. He supposed he should have been careful about what he requested, because he most certainly received it. He supposed that Crackdown was at least a capable enough distraction, if not an exactly reliable one. But he was just as likely to shoot at the others rather than focus on the-
No, actually, he did that all the time.
The Borer was almost there. It had been a stroke of luck to finally have had a lock on Bandit's signature, heavily degraded as it was. But it had taken even more time to assemble the Borer at all - had Bandit been present, assembling the parts would have been relatively quick. But then if Bandit were present, there would have been no need to put this together at all. He himself was curious as to why Tyrannous was this enthusiastic about getting him back, but...
Crackdown's boasts were abruptly strangled by the taciturn fist of the next Free Brother who couldn't stand it any longer. "That's enough out of you." Highway was one of the recent awakenings onboard the Belligerent - and the sight of a Kaus half of Crackdown's size choking him would have been amusing, were it not for the fact that he could hear metal crack underneath his grasp. Extended cables had shot out from a forty-five degree angle, letting the dark blue and red-clad Free Brother not even have to look away from his terminal.
The things I do for the mission. "You've made your point, Highway," Scrapheap said mildly. "Let him go - he does us no good if he can't fight the Legion."
"Hmmph." Highway scoffed, but he let him go. His arm retracted back into place, and a pair of blue optics turned towards Scrapheap. "I don't know how you tolerate him."
"With great difficulty," Scrapheap answered honestly. "With luck, you won't have to deal with him afterwards."
"Pity. I wouldn't mind an excuse to offline him."
"I advise you save it for the Legion." The front viewport of the Borer saw more and more natural light bleeding in, with less and less resistance now that they were closer to the surface. "Now. Make ready the Drones. We've a job to do."
"What, all of them?"
"No, not all of them. The last batch is a surprise..."
"What in-!?"
Tracker found himself flung backwards as the earth practically exploded, sending large chunks of debris flying everywhere. Charlie took a few steps and placed the bulk of his frame in between the crotchety old man and himself, letting him get to his feet while the Phalanx frame absorbed the worst of the impact. "We've got company!" he said, halfway between glee and relief that he didn't have to listen through another 'back in my day' rant. "We've got a-"
Charlie blinked. "A drill tank." Because there was no other explanation for what it was - one big frame flanked by two ginormous eff-off drills whose tips were just starting to cool down, red-tinted metal gleaming with reflective sunlight as chunks of dirt and rock shook themselves free.
"...not this again," he heard Tracker grumble behind him.
"What do you mean again-?"
Charlie's incredulous response was cut off as the massive bay doors exploded outwards - and the ubiquitous Drones that Tyrannous loved to employ were already storming out, a mixture of blasters and kludged together melee weapons raised high as they rushed towards the biggest concentration of Legionnaires.
"Kid, duck!" Reflexively, Charlie ducked his head - and then felt a rifle prop itself onto his shoulder before it fired something into the air. "Thanks, needed the angle," Tracker grunted as the improvised rifle bomb sailed in a graceful parabolic arc.
"Right." Charlie winced slightly as the bomb exploded, taking more than a few of the Drones out in a single attack. Not that that ever seemed to discourage them, as more just kept piling out like this was a Three Stooges audition. "What's the play, old man?"
"Do what you normally do, kid. Fight it out, get their attention. Their heavy hitters'll be here in a bit." Tracker withdrew a single charge of...something that he chambered into his long rifle. "Delphi, girl, don't suppose you've seen-"
"It was a little hard to miss, Tracker, but thank you," Delphi's reply came back. "All Legionnaires, this is Delphi. Cargo transfer is under attack! I say again-!"
Richard's feet were already taking him along the elevated runways above the halls. Alarm klaxons were ringing in his hears as alternating red and white light washed over the world. He could see Cavalier stomping his way through, getting a few additional tools ready, and a gust of wind that might have been Breakneck. But one visor over his eye was feeding him the general fist of the fight.
Charlie was already in the thick of things, slamming into the Drones and giving Nailhead the openings he needed for his own strikes. Tracker was hanging back, picking off individual Drones at his leisure with a rifle that looked almost like a hunting rifle if you tilted your head just right. Architect and Iris had not come under attack yet, but they were still leveling supporting fire from their vantage point near Bandit's to-go box.
And all of this was only possible because Frankie, while providing heavy fire support with his launcher, was feeding him this information through the Shade suite.
"Richard, this is Delphi. Galbinus says to suit up but stay in reserve. We'll need Beowulf when the actual officers start emerging."
"Got it, Delphi!" He just had to hope Galbinus had this in hand.
Galbinus would like to say that he had this in hand, but irritatingly the Free Brothers had yet to reveal their entire hand to him. It was only the initial engagement, but already whoever was leading them was proving to be...cagey. As always, they came loaded for bear with Drones, always seeking to exhaust the Legion with raw numbers. This time, he had ways around that, but he didn't want to show them just yet. And he couldn't appear himself, or -
"Gya-hahahahahahahoooo~!"
And there was the usual suspect. Crackdown sailed through the air, his torso and his legs twisting independently of each other as each limb seemed to be firing blaster shots randomly, striking everything and nothing as the maniac fired with gleeful abandon. Tracker took his time to try and blast him out of the air, but the madmech simply reconfigured into his alt-form - a law enforcement cruiser, ironically enough - and simply skidded along the dirt paths, spraying a storm of dirt as he swerved.
Nailhead struck at a particularly fast target - and as he spun around, the target was already swerving around his back. Galbinus narrowed his optics at the sight, a blue and red 'motorcycle.' It might be Highway, but he simply did not know what else he might be capable of ever since he'd awoken.
And he spied Scrapheap, the other candidate that didn't surprise him. He and Bandit were partners in crime, but he was likely not here just out of loyalties alone. Whatever his motivations, he never went against what Tyrannous had laid out. His crane appendage lashed out, and a vicious looking hook swept through the air, forcing Frankie to duck and move away from a firing position that had suddenly become too close for comfort.
"This can't be all they brought," Delphi mused. "They've got to have something else, surely..."
"And we cannot simply destroy their transport," Galbinus grumbled. "I need them to actually get away...Delphi, options."
The Free Brothers have arrived in force, but they seem to be holding back some of their options. Galbinus and Delphi don't have a clear read on what that is. How best to respond?

[] Feed in some reinforcements (pick one or multiple)
- [] Beowulf
- [] Cavalier
- [] Breakneck
[] Refrain - you can't afford to overplay your hand here
Battle Direction (Pick one category)
[] Continue to hold and delay. Let the Free Brothers get some ground, and preserve your own forces.
[] Try to focus and force one of the Free Brother officers to back off. Specify which one.
- [] Crackdown
- [] Highway
- [] Scrapheap
[] Focus on getting rid of the Drones. They'll wear down the defenders if left alone for too long.

Crackdown's aerial mode is going to be annoying so we need to drive him off somehow.

I don't think Crackdown was flying; I think he was just jumping really high like a maniac on a pogo stick. And his alt-form is a police cruiser, so it can't fly either.
I do agree with your assessment that he needs to go first. If he wants to make himself the most eye-catching and offensive thing on the battlefield, let's oblige him. And the sooner Breakneck gets on the board, the sooner Axiom can be an option in case things take a turn.

All right! Place your bets on what the Free Brother's new Ace-in-the-Hole is now! Mine is on Elite Drones or Berserker Drones. But hopefully not of the Murder variety…

question:
would it be possible to make one of the mechs a pseudo-armored core by having one or two of the jets combine with them?
if so then that would be something that i would like to see.
depending on it's size and if the Free brothers are not planning on using it as their escape vehicle which I am assuming they are. We can turn it into a core unit like we did with Warlord's, Which I might remind you we turned into Jessica's Super Robot.
As a heads up, after the vote wraps up, we will momentarily shift scenes back to Perseus to see how that group is all doing. Then we'll continue again with the current scene.

Are you asking if one of the Seekers or TMUs can combine as a jetpack mode for one of the Super Robots? If so, the Beowulf Foxhound already has had a run out - you can see that in the Base Defense arc in the first thread.

I want to rebuild Drilling Machine to configure into arms of Thunderbolt, so the drills will go over the shoulders and will provide spectacular shoulder charge capability.

OOC? I do. There were very few bits written where the Regent participated as a character, so my opinion on him is a barely-educated guess, but from what I can tell, he seems to be the "Valorous Knight" kind of trope. After all, valour seems to be hard-coded into him, somehow. So I could imagine a situation where the Regent receives orders from his king-equivalent to stab the DFRI in the front, or even in the back. And I could imagine that his built-in "inability to refuse orders" activates, or is expected to activate, in such a scenario. But a twist where it turns out he's been plotting against DFRI all along? Nope, doesn't look believable.
