Super Robot Quest G

That might be a bit too on the nose sadly.

On the other hand if we want to keep our mythological theme there's plenty of avian themed variants around like Siren, Garuda, Roc, Phoenix, etc.

And there are plenty of regular bird names too that would also do in a pinch like peregrine, chickenhawk, or petrel.

Garuda or Roc, either of those two are fine. but my preference with those would be Garuda for reasons and I think that it is more thematically appropriate for a triple combo mech that can fly and fly fast as well as being a defender.

For serpent theme naming, I do want to name the inevitable gattai train mech Jormungandr for obvious reasons.

Also by then we can probably go all in Big Gun attachment by making one of the limbs be a heavily powered up Schwerer Gustav siege train.

Beowulf Redux
Since I wasn't able to get you an actual post (as I'm shepherding family around all weekend), have an art piece instead!

I commissioned the same artist (Filippo Angelotti) who did Mercury V to take a swing at Beowulf. I have to say, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I'm having him work on some more as I'm pretty happy with his work so far, so stay tuned for that (though that won't be for awhile!).

That picture is awesome. The Arc Blade looks cool too. Kudos to the person who drew or painted that.

The military units tend to have the olive yellow/green color due to it being what their base vehicles sports so it does make sense at least.

Maybe we can do paint job recolors for special units one day though!

If we do paint job recolors than it would have to be per Super Robot per situation. The mass produced mech's like the Seeker, phalanx and Jackal formations all have the same paint scheme since they are not super robots. I will be among the first to say that beowulf's color skin could be a bit brighter and louder but since the DFRI is a military formation, the unit is probably only allowed to use DFRI approved colors for it's mechs and Super Robots.

Also keep in mind that the special recolors will eventually be an instant tell for enemy factions to guess which unit has a lot more work done on it than the mass manufactured version given to the rest of the branches without the special goodies so we'll have to ensure that said unit's powerful enough to take the singling out if so.

Granted by that point the elite versions will be pretty powerful indeed but it'll still be a good visual indicator for people to focus the majority of their firepower on first.

There is an argument for repainting the colors eventually. But for now I'm pretty happy with the tan military colors.

That and the way each angle is portrayed, the one thing that comes to mind immediately is the first instance of GaoGaiGar's combination when the narrator is effectively saying 'shit's about to go down' as different parts of the frame are highlighted. That could just be me though.

It'll be a long while before Beowulf Fenrir gets an art piece, as I want to spread the love around. But we'll get there someday.

Now, this week will have the deployments roll out. It'll start with Perseus, then shift to Beowulf and the Legion.

So episode of the week with Perseus (plus showing the design of Perseus Megas to sell toys), the caper at the enclave plus unveiling Fenrir mode and finishing with the mysterious oil derrick?

we should probably notify the intelligence services of the resupply point in the oil rigs.

we should also look into giving the k-bones and k-muscles to the ground pounder project because they would be able to get the most use out of them.

Pretty sure we've already handed off the relevant info to our Resident Spook.

Honestly not sure if K-Bone and Muscle is a good fit for Ground Pound given the Nanotech and Fulgar Nightmare dimension. K-Material can be surprisingly psychicly receptive, plus Ground Pound is still getting their footing with the revelation of the Anti-Grav formula.

Also K-stuff is our exclusive. Reagent-tech may work better for them since their pilots and crew have to overcome fear every day.

No way are we ever letting K-scale tech out of DFRI control. It's powerful yes but it comes from enemy tech that we've captured and studied to make our own. Sheol might have a way to shut it down that we don't know about. hence why we are limiting it to DFRI only. The other programs have to be without K-tech so that there can be a safety buffer in case Sheol does have a way and shuts down our tech so that we are helpless. Sharing everything else that the DFRI has developed that doesn't use K-Tech is okay to be shared with.

Let's not get too crazy with giving the nightmare particles more shit to use, let's stick to engineering stuff.

On another note I'm hyped to see Percy's new form in combat
