Super Robot Quest G

Well you can probably guess what Cross Ange's big bad, Emboyo, is like from the SRW games but uhhh he's real bad being a godlike 'male femist' as in unironically says "I love powerful women" while in the same shot a girl in a swimsuit maid outfit makes food in the kitchen with him fondly looking at her bending over.
He is Rifhtfully called an incel since part his breakdown in finale is finding out the woman his lusting over slept all night long with a guy she actually liked and who he didnt bother paying any attention too.

Let's put this into perspective Basarin.

People who tried to do a Let's Watch thread stopped in the First 3 Episodes.

To I know a Guy that Marathon it. And basically came out Worse.

February, Year Four - Rapid Response Pt. 1 (Free Brothers)
So this Rapid Response event - and pretty much future ones - will be taking place on their own without voting input. What happens here happens, and are basically small episode-like structures to flesh out the world. The full deployments are where you all have more input.

So, uh, enjoy. And sorry it took awhile to get any posts up and running.

Makeshift GSDF Forward Outpost

"...say again, this is *hzzt*-er, falling back to se-*crrzt*-nd line. Kausen are-"

The transmission was cut as the whole building shook. Major Lennox grimaced as more than a few of the radio case sets were knocked over from the tables they were perched on, even as the radio operators were scrambling to haul them back up and reset the frequencies again. What felt like a metric ton of dust falling from the rafters were illuminated by the lights flickering back online, another unnecessary reminder of just how hard the damned Kausen actually hit.

"Status?" she called out, her face illuminated by the single holoboard they had on inventory.

"November-9 is offline," one of the officers responded. "No casualties, but their vehicle's deadlined." Lennox winced - the Centurions were just arriving into North America, and that was already the fourth one they lost today.

The map was showing a worrying imbalance between the friendly blue forces, and the known red hashes indicating the Kausen forces. Any further, and the Kausen would have a free shot down the freeway and straight to the refinery - and this township was the least bad option they had of making a stand, or just giving up all this energy to the bastards. A few additional camera boxes overlaid the holoboard - they were fielding more and more of the smaller little bastards, but she could see a few of the bigger ones.

Including one particular yahoo who was simply discharging his weapon up in the air for reasons that she did not know or care to know.

Lennox sighed. She didn't want to do this, but this was part of planning. Not that she envied her superiors for having to justify it to the review boards. "Confirm charges are set," she began to say. "And-"

"Ma'am! New contacts, bearing 302...friendlies?"

DFRI.

Lennox blinked - what were they doing out here? But before she could voice that concern, a clear transmission came through the radio.

"All friendly frequencies, this is Perseus. Transmitting local authority codes, do not fire. Say again, friendlies, do not fire."

The codes hadn't taken long at all - and Lennox nodded, opting to grab the hand mic from the radio operator herself. "Tracking you, Perseus," she replied. "Your arrival is unexpected but welcome. Transmitting IFF and coordinates to you now."

Polite speak for 'who the hell are you and what are you doing here?' but at this point, she wasn't going to complain.

"They're pulling back."

Throughput raised an eyebrow as he lowered his blaster. "Huh. How about that?" He shared a quizzical look with Smelter. "I know I was just woken up from pod sleep but...didn't ya say they normally fight to the last scrap?"

"They normally...do..." Smelter grit his teeth. "...scrap. That probably means they're bringing out some bigger guns."

"Ah. Crossfire."

"Wha? What's he got to do with-?"

"No, no, not Cross, an actual crossfire!"

"I think he'd be kinda annoyed to hear you-"

"Oh shut up! I mean they don't want to get their squishies caught in the middle of the big guns firing!"

"...ah. Okay."

"Metatrine preserve me. Just...just get the Drones to body block them or something, would you?"

"Don't ya think we might need the...bigger one?"

...Throughput processed over that for a click. On the one hand, Rangefinder didn't want that being used. On the other hand..."...you reckon Scrapheap can build another one?"

"He built this one, didn't he?"

"Fair. Have it ready-"

A massive explosion ripped through the front ranks of Drones, with body parts and circuits sprinkling the sky like a Work Wake confetti spray - only without the Shard nuggets to go with it. Throughput held up a hand to shield himself from the morbid shower while trying to keep an optic on what was happening. "...what in the-?"

Both mechs immediately ducked as human aeros nearly sideswiped them, while strafing through some other unlucky mechs that weren't able to dodge in time. Even as the sound barrier nearly breaking echoed in his receptors, Throughput could see what looked like a local mountain range walking steadily towards them, shields locked together and advancing slowly with weapons armed.

And above all, there was that one.

"Change!"/"Change!"

- Xiu Ying and Oscar's controls shifted at exactly the same time. And Perseus rose. The Phalanx IFV rose, its torso unfolding and spinning in place as arms extended. Both pilots could feel his hands extend out from their ports, slamming into place in a shower sparks, feel their vision expand as his head emerged, his full presence announced in a pair of bright flares from his optics -

"Perseus-!"/"-Online!"

Perseus raised his arm, the very motion sending the coalescing dust and debris storm to dissipate in a small counterstorm of motion.

Yes. That one.

"Get word to Rangefinder." Throughput's words - hopefully - cut through the miasma of shock or stupidity that settled onto Smelter's processors. "And get the big one ready."

"The-? Oooh. Oooooh. Can I drive? Can I drive-?"

"Shut up and do what I said!"

Throughput readied his blasters and stepped forward. "What's all this then?" he called out, transmitting more bravado than he was actually feeling. "The humans have their own frames now, do they?" How long had they had them!? This would've been nice to know earlier-

'No further.'

Throughput tilted his head in confusion. "Wha-? Speak clearly, mech! I can barely-!"

'I am Perseus.' The mech - no, Perseus, apparently - raised his forearm and pointed at him. 'My wills demand you cease operations.'

Perseus's speech was...weird. As if he was hearing him, but more his intent than anything else. "Yeah? What're you gonna do about it, big mech?" he taunted.

'Stop you. Or will make you stop.' Perseus stepped forward, gunports unveiling from his forearms - but then was forced to raise his arms in defense as a hail of blaster fire emerged from behind him, momentarily hiding him in a storm of dust.

"Might take you awhile," Throughput taunted back. His UI showed their latest and greatest back up and running - it was supposed to help with that other operation Rangefinder kept hinting about, buuuuuut...he was there, and Perseus was here. It'd sort itself out if he could crush this thing. "Think you can take all of us?" he asked rhetorically, gesturing to the Drones around him-

-and he was immediately gainsaid as the Drone to his left abruptly lost his head in a shower of sparks and shrapnel.

'Yes.' Perseus strode forward, his strides already lengthening to break into a run.

Oh great.

Time for some good ol "Kaiju vs Soldiers" meme, but they are all mechanical.

Huh, the Free Brothers are 'Hearing' Perseus and not his pilots. Neat, and a bit concerning. Mekaen telepathy due to Percy's Nature perhaps?

Have any of the Legion experienced similar around Percy or Beowulf? Trying to recall if any of them have been shown to Train/Spar against Perseus. They've definitely done so with Beowulf and Ichiro.

no, this will be the first time. Beowulf was involved in the previous encounters and didn't encounter this. But there are signs that he is developing the same thing as Perseus. Just slower due to having one will while Perseus has two. Well that's my theory as for why Perseus is developing faster than beowulf anyway.

Oh, this is proper Super Robot. You can feel the GSDF breathing a collective sigh of relief - Perseus is here, and everything is going to be fine. It's that kind of morale boost, just by existing, that defines a hero.

Also, banter. "We've got you outnumbered!" "Not in combatants that matter." I love it.

@Basarin what are the chances that Perseus could defeat and capture one of the Kausen? If he does, what would happen to the Kausen?

Poor, unfortunate Drones.
Poor, unfortunate, newly-build Giant Drone who's about to have a very bad day. too.

He just had to say that didn't he.

Man, rumors are gonna spread among Free Brothers how humans are birthing Krusans at this rate, lol

I imagine even our allies find idea kind of crazy.

I have to kinda hope that that police officer mech has a spy drone in place to see this or something, because he's gonna be mighty puzzled if he does.

who are you talking about. One of the people present where Perseus is? one of Galbinus's mech's or the Mech in orbit who just arrived. Galbinus and his crew are all law enforcement. The clown in orbit is an inquisitor type and probably going to be trouble once he arrives. Which will be soon and honestly I am not looking forward to it since he seems like a hardass to deal with.

I still say we should have Zulu develop a defection/surrender protocol for the Drones.

Have them evacuate themselves from the battlefield to begin the rehabilitation & integration process.

i just had someone with the profile name of winged one leave a like on my previous post but when i clicked on the profile it said the the profile does not exist.

is there a joke here that i am not getting or is there something else going on?
