Super Robot Quest G

Technically we can and are building multiples of the same weapon. The Arc Blade to be specific. There's nothign stopping up from building more Spears and heat knives too.

I am definitely looking forward to both seeing the results of the Science! (Science!) which the Faedium C-Crystals has given us... And also learning more about the Regency's reaction to 'how the hell have you managed to improve this very extensively researched technology within a couple of years of being given a run down on it's function?

I still want the unified trinity.of Faedium + C-Crystal + Kausen Currency/Food Crystal

I suspect making a full on lightsaber won't be a thing for a good while but on the other hand we might get rrally lucky and come up with a No More Heroes Beam Katana or a Gundam Seed Anti-Ship Sword.

A compact Faedium battery that feeds into a Zivirtium handle and blade lined with K Lung Cells and Beam Crystals compacted with Kausen Dispersal Field turned inwards to keep the heat inside and condensed.

I hate that stupid design. No. It's like using a violin bow as a sword and it's strings a blade.
Honestly, I tend to be against the idea of "anti-ship swords" in general (because really, how are you gonna make a sword big enough to do significant damage to a ship without making it ludicrously unwieldy?), but I'm letting it slide here because Super Robots.

Side note: From what I've heard of Gundam Seed, I consider it to be a Super Robot show in denial.

Having watched the entirety of SEED myself, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. SEED Destiny, on the other hand, fits that description more, though I only watched clips of the action sequences out of morbid fascination.

Let's just say that SEED was trying to vaguely retell the original Universal Century's One Year War, but diverged along the way. SEED Destiny is somewhat divisive and that's all I'm going to say about it.

(In both UC and SEED, however, I'm not the biggest fan of how Mobile Suits can just take out fleet ships like it's no big thing, or how naval ship speeds are incredibly inconsistent - looking at you, MS IGLOO)

Seed Destiny has a lot of issues but at least some of the stuff it has is so over the top it somehow loops back around to being cool in the dumb sort of way.

We could make a fighter jet Configuration Robot if we did like Gundam Z and made the nose cone a Weapons system..
We could put the Drill or a variety of Weapons on the nose if we make it interchangeable.

Rest of the Frame light and compact as possible .. like G1 deception coneheads.

Call it the Tooth and design it for fast strike capabilities at the exclusion of armor.

If people want a drill just use a souped up construction drill vehicle as a gattai part rather than stick drills on regular vehicles.
I respectfully disagree with this mindset. ...but then, considering how much thought I put into my Lungfish idea (recap: bomber/submarine/mecha triple changer with drill nose that becomes a Getter 2-style arm), that's only to be expected.

Besides, considering how much our guys ram with vehicles that aren't made for it, it's only logical to build something for ramming, right?

Remember that the Free Brothers are drilling around trying to find the Enclave with something under the earth so if anything we do have a loot pinata in stock that is drill themed once we get the Fake Rescue operation under way.

Might be best to see what goodies we can get from there before designing a drill of our own.

There are no actual subterrenes that have wheels or tracks. Their role has been filled by tunnel Boring machines in real life
We would have to design our own drill tank. Modify the Centurion to carry a drill or something.

Honestly, I expect the driller they're using to be an actual Free Brother with an excavation driller alt-mode. Might be fancier loot, if we can get the driller in question, but also makes it a much bigger threat.

Could just be a bunch of Drones with those improvised laser-miner weapons again, though.

Tunnel Boring machines are not vehicles in real life. I Don't think they would take to well to Configuration.
Combat Engineers could use them for post-disaster rebuilding.

Also the Grungust Type 3 would disagree with you.

Grungust Type-3

The Grungust Type-3 (グルンガスト参式 | Grungust Sanshiki) is a Banpresto Original Mecha first mentioned in Super Robot Wars Alpha before properly debuting in The 2nd Super Robot Wars Alpha. Part of the Grungust Series as well as the SRX Project, it is formed from the combination of the G-Raptor and...

Drill tanks are some of the classic vehicle designs in super robot anime...which almost never get used for their nominal purposes.

I think the last time I saw a drill tank actually used for its intended purpose was the 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. (with maybe the Constructicons but I could be misrembering)

Most other times it's forming the arm or leg of a bigger bot.
