[X] Go to the PRT building in the shape of Plantsman and ask how you can join.

I agree we need at least a team.

I disagree that we need 10 creatures before grabbing powers because grabbing something like strategist would be really useful. However rolling for creatures when we have 200+ seems like a solid idea as those are the ones that really make an impact (see Redeye watcher and our new jet? for examples).

Something about the dialogue felt short, like a drama summarized.
It is strangely lucky to have gotten only bots, agreed that creatures may have a larger impact for now.

I don't know how I will handle the PRT, they'll just think we're a tinker with disillusion.
Impossible there's no correlation between plant form and our loyal machines. They'll just have to take our word that we can summon things other then machines.

edit:

Yeah, the dialogue is consistently wooden, but it gets the point across. Sometimes it's decent and sometimes it's a cardboard box.

Any specific advice to improve the dialogue?

As for the PRT, I'm not really worried I'll find a way to make it work. But the chance of 3 bots in a row still astounds me. I'm hopeful for the next roll.

Thanks for that, it was a very interesting read. I'm not sure that I can apply all the advice but at least it's a start.

Going there in person seem to be the best choice but not directly to the Protectorate headquarter that may be seen as too aggressive. Instead, I'll be going to the PRT building, they are the ones in charge of the Protectorate so it seems logical.

During lunch, Mom and I didn't talk much. I was thinking about my upcoming meeting at the PRT and Mum was probably still digesting this morning's revelation.

Still, as I depart she wishes me good luck. I choose to take the bus again even if it was way more full today. The journey was shorter this time too because I didn't need to go as far. I was pretty nervous, after taking a lot of precautions yesterday to test my powers, today I would step into the limelight. I would be seen entering the PRT building looking like a humanoid plant.

I briefly entertained the idea of just buying a mask but I didn't trust such flimsy protection for my identities. Once in sight of the PRT building, I look around for a discrete place to change my appearance. After searching around I found an alley no far from the bus stop, I moved toward it slowly as if I was just doing so window shopping. Once next to the alleyway I feign a sudden weakness and move slowly into the alley, and then between two dumpsters.

Now that I was somehow hidden I look all around. A closed door not far from me, emergency stairs above, and no one in sight. I choose to wait a few minutes before transforming just in case someone followed me.

Five minutes later I was pretty sure that nobody did. After one last look around I transformed into Plantsman. Taking a deep breath I exit from between the dumpsters and move to the other end of the alley.

I tried to ignore people's reactions as I step on the sidewalk and move toward the PRT building, but it was impossible. A number of people seem to be afraid of me and moved away, the others simply seem wary and keep me in their sight, and finally, a few excited children pointed my way. I could also see a few teenagers taking photos with their phones. They'll be on PHO in less than 5 minutes.

Peoples seems to calm down when they see that I'm not making any aggressive move an even more so when they realize that I'm going to the PRT building. The guard outside the entrance have clearly seen me and are keeping on hand on their weapon.

I stopped a few meters away, "Hello, I've become a parahuman recently and I'll like to talk to someone from the PRT. Can I come inside?"

The trooper on the right responds while his comrade is quietly talking on a radio. "What's your name?"

"I didn't choose a real cape name yet, but you can call me Plantsman for now" It was a lame name, but the Protectorate would help me pick a better one.

His comrade relayed my name with his radio and finally nod toward me.

I give a nod to them both and move toward the entrance, being careful to not make sudden moves. The interior was just as I remember it. I had the occasion to make some deliveries here in the past. The decor was barebone but I could see a few posters on the walls, a recruitment placard for the PRT, a big Armsmaster poster, and one for the whole Triumvirate.
To the left, I could also see the gift shop full of colorful merchandising. Maybe soon my likeness would end up there too.

The receptionist was looking at me warily but she was trying to smile. I could see a guard in each corner of the room and on in front of the door at the back.

I repeat what I said outside, add that I want to participate in power testing and if possible talk with a Protectorate hero because I'm thinking of joining.

That calms down the woman significantly. "Very well Plantsman, I will consult my superior can you wait a few minutes?"

I nod and thank her before sitting on a chair to the side of the room. I spent some time just looking around, the guard seems to have relaxed a lot when I said that I want to join.

I didn't have to wait long before I was approached by a PRT agent. It was an older man with short grey hair, a thin mustache, and thick glass. "Mr. Plantsman, a pleasure to met you, I am Mr. Hepburn. If you would follow me." He gestured toward the door at the back of the room.

I get up and followed him. Beyond the entrance hall, the rest of the building looks like any other office buildings. White walls and plain wooden door but I did notice cameras at every corner and some sort of automated turret at regular intervals.

"We're going to the basements of the building, it has been converted for power testings. but before we begin what are you willing to me about your power? Some sort of plant control perhaps?"

I respond as we reach the elevator, "No, despite my appearance it has nothing to do with plants. My power comes in two parts, first I can summon, hum, what's the word, projection that I select from a list in my mind. I have three so far. And the second parts are a few minor powers that allow me to better interact with my projection, I have two for now and one of them allows me to change the appearance of my creatures to that of plants."

As the elevator stop, I take a breath. "But I can also apply this modification to myself, hence my current appearance."

"That's pretty impressive, a Master power with a Changer secondary power." The elevator door opened and revealed a pretty big room. On the left multiple machines, treadmills, bodybuilding machines, and training bikes, among other things. At the far end, I could see multiple targets.

I turn back toward Mr. Hepburn who was asking a question. "But you said so far and for now, can you explain that." He seems to be confused, looking at me quizically.

"That's because my power grows regularly, giving me more projections and more secondary power. I started with just one projection, yesterday morning."

The man was starring at me as if I had grown a second head, with good reasons. From my research powers able to grow with time were vanishingly rare. Dauntless here in the Bay was one, Crawler from the Slaughterhouse Nine, and the Faerie queen could count too.

I had briefly thought about hiding that fact but with my growth speed, I wouldn't be able to maintain such deception for long.

No story vote this time. I'm not really satisfied with this chapter but I don't want to spend too long on it. I prefer to keep my momentum.

Keep on rolling for a creature.
yeah pretty much.

things will start to get really fun when we get something smart enough and able to communicate, like say Kurama.
and now that i think about it, would we get the young version of him that was in the flashback to hagoromo's last days, or the fully grown one we see in most of the anime?

Kurama won't be the easiest one to get at 700 points. As for the version I want to say the young one, shortly after its "birth".

[X] Power

I don't like having to talk to give our summons commands. Hopefully we'll roll a power that gives us telepathy soon.
