Had to find the chapter we got it here ya go.

"A plant again, something called an AdamTree./It's pretty big, around twenty meters tall, and with a circumference of around fifteen meters. Just summoning it in the wrong place could wreck a building"
Okay cool cool.
That means Treasure Tree Adam isn't the Giant Sized Tree that makes up Elbaf. It's a bit hard to make out what tree Loki is tied to.

A single fallen branch was enough to look like a tree on it's own and big enough to make the Sunny with.
I always assumed the one here is a young one so Zagan doesn't have to displace an entire city.

There we go, the first visit from Compendium to grab a new partner. Originally I intended to have the chapter cover the full day, with the visit to all three cities but I decided that gaining the last power of the Menagerie would be a good stopping point.
And I'm making progress on reducing the amount of romance in the quest. Crystal was only mentioned twice, and only in passing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday, 05/24/2011 (8 AM)

When I woke up, alone, on Tuesday I was mildly disappointed. We've only spent one night together, and already I was missing Crystal's warmth. Damn, I had it bad. With a rueful smile, I got out of bed.

While doing my morning ablution, I focused on my day, and what a busy day it would be. The main thing was visiting three cities in the midwest to pick up some new partners and help out with some trouble in Denver. I was a little disappointed that they're would be no Gray Boy Loop breaking today, but the logistics were still being worked on.

There was also a press conference to announce that Taurus and Strega are joining the Protectorate, I want to be there for that. And that was in addition to my normal activities.

During the night I also brainstormed several ways to put the Mokuton to use. Disaster relief was a big one, I could create a city block of wooden houses in minutes. There would be no utilities but people would be protected from the weather. I may need to find a way to explain why those houses were in a Japanese style but that was all.

Ecological restoration could also be a good use, with the caveat that all the trees generated would be identical which may impact the biodiversity of the region. In some areas that could be considered a fair trade. Alternatively, I could use existing seeds and saplings but that would be a much more complex jutsu and outside of my means for now.

On a related note there was the potential of working with my plant partners, be it the Treasure Tree Adam or even Aylamon. But that would be even more complicated to put into practice. Still the prospect was extremely appealing.

For now, my use of Mokuton will be mainly centered on clones. Already my paperwork clone from yesterday did a fantastic job, and my trainer clone helped my training partners much more than simple mental instruction. Having a clone go on patrol with a few partners relayed on him could free up some time. And using one as an alibi to protect my identity, was appealing. Maybe just having Alex Crewser in the background doing menial stuff during a public appearance of Compendium?

This was why my first step, even before going to work, was to reverse summon myself into the Panda realm.

There I had a long discussion with Laoban and Sifu about the Mokuton. I demonstrate all the Jutsus I could reasonably use. The Boss asked for a full spar but I regretfully declined, I didn't have enough time for it. Sifu mentioned having seen mention of wood-based Jutsus in their archives used by a famous Ninja, and he said that he would look into it.

While I was there Cho gave me a report on the tests being done with the new inks and the new brushes. For now, the result was a mixed bag. Some materials worked too well, storing chakra too fast, often to explosive results and some resist chakra nearly completely. Still, there was some progress, Ink made with Luminescent Fluid worked really well with any seals dealing with light, presumably some sort of resonance effects. And in a similar vein, a brush made with Shadow's mane was good for storage seals.

Cho was super excited about the prospect and requested materials from as many creatures as possible to test more combinations.

I thanked and complimented him on his work and that of his team. This was already excellent. It was an excellent example of the Celestial Menageries essence, the confluence of multiple worlds to create things that are greater than the sum of their parts.

I left behind three clones for some Chakra training. With my Chakra reserve and control having improved significantly, Sifu judged that it was time for me to learn a few Jutsus, to solidify my foundations.

Before starting my journey I passed by the Rig, mainly to summon Aggretsuko and to check on my messages. One caught my attention, it was from Bryan asking me to call him back.

He picked up the phone after only two rings. "Hello, Bryan Spearing speaking."

"Hello, Bryan. Compendium here. I got your message."

"Oh yes, thank you for calling back so quickly." He paused before speaking in a rush. "Is your offer of healing still open?"

Even if he couldn't see it I reflexively nodded. "Absolutely."

I heard a breath of relief. "Thank god. Hn…" He trailed off. "Would it be too much to ask to heal me in my hometown? With my family present?"

Before I could answer he continued. "I mean I'll understand if it's not possible. You're certainly very busy. Milwaukee is pretty far. And you're…"

I cut him off before he could spiral further. "I assure you it's more than fine. Make the arrangements necessary on your side, and then contact my secretary; she'll check my schedule to see when I'm available."

Again I heard the sound of breathing before he answered. "Okay. I'll do that then. Hm, thank you."

Understanding that the man was a little overwhelmed by the idea of being healed, I decided to cut this short. "Don't worry about it. Good day to you."

"Yeah, you too."

I spent a few minutes talking with Aggretsuko. She was happy with her job and made friends with several people who worked on the Rig in administration work.

Then it was time for me to go. My meeting in Des Moines was at nine, and I didn't want to be late. To travel there, I decided to use Bruce once again, but this time as armor just for fun. With the ability to fly and Rabbit Talisman, I'll be there in less than a minute. The only tricky part was going the right way and not overshooting the target, but Clank could provide that.

And so following his guidance, I found myself floating above Des Moines's capitol building an instant after departing. Looking at it I must admit that it was an impressive building, the golden dome on top was a nice touch. The city itself also looked lovely, with plenty of greenery. Locating the PRT headquarters didn't take long, it was a drab building very similar to the one in Brockton Bay, and right next to it was another equally drab building for the Protectorate. The two were linked by a footbridge. But from what I understood the bridge was never used, it served only as a symbol of unity between the two legal entities. Instead, travel between the two was made through a tunnel, it was much more secure that way.

It didn't take long after landing to be guided to the Director's office. On the way I was subject to the usual amount of admiration and awe from the personnel we crossed paths with. I did my best to smile and nodded when appropriate without breaking my stride.

Inside I found a balding man that I judged to be around fifty. He was tall and muscular, with an impressive graying mustache. He got up as I entered the room, and in two strides he was in front of me with his hand extended.

"Compendium! It's a pleasure to meet you."

I shook his hand firmly. "Director Appleby if I'm not mistaken?"

"That's right! Let's get right to business." He gestured to the right. There sitting on a perch was a magnificent, if sleepy-looking, specimen of Yellow-crested Cockatoo.

Appleby appeared extremely proud of the bird. "This is Delilah." The man presented his hand to the bird who preneed against it with obvious pleasure.

"She's nearly as old as me, she once belonged to my father."

I approached cautiously and presented my own hand. Delilah pecked at my hand once or twice, before emitting a happy chirping sound and rubbing her head against it. Lightly I scratched under her beak.

"I'm impressed. Delilah isn't usually that friendly with strangers."

I smiled. "My Powers give me some unique advantages when interacting with animals."

"I can see that." He clapped his hands. "Well, if you want to go ahead with your… thing, you can. I've read the files and the benefits both Delilah herself and for us looked amazing. Just the prospect of having easy access to Parahuman healing will be a game changer."

I focused my attention on the bird. As a domestic bird with no hostile intention toward me, I had no trouble triggering Creature Acquisition to make Delilah my partner. The effect was obvious immediately. She perked up and looked more alert. I could feel her draining a fraction of a fraction of a percent of health from the Resource Network to bolster herself. She started chirping happily, with a flap of her wings, she took to the air, and did a circuit of the room under the amazed eyes of Director Appleby, before landing on the man's right shoulder. From there she nuzzled his check, still chirping happily.

I had enough tact to not comment on the tears pearling at the corners of the man's eyes.

When he next spoke, his voice was filled with awe. "This is wonderful. It's been years since Delilah had been in good enough shape to fly, even briefly. Thank you, thank you very much."

I then demonstrate how the healing would work. If they need it, they could speak directly to Delilah with the wounded person being nearby. The cockatoo would change appearance, adopting the Clockwork variant, and then a tiny drone would appear and heal the designated person. In practice, a few Minds would monitor my growing network of partners, and anytime they heard a healing demand the modifier would be applied. Considering that I was gaining one Mind for each new partner, this wouldn't be any kind of hardship, even in my sleep. It may be a little trickier for partners that didn't have good enough sense to convey words but a call to my desk should be able to cover those corner cases.

With a new partner gained and our main business concluded the Director insisted on giving me a tour of the building. Considering that I still had a little time before I needed to be back in Brockton I accepted.

On the way, in what was surely a pure coincidence, I got to meet with the most senior members of the PRT, the whole local Protectorate, and even the two Wards. There was no recruitment pitch, but the implication that I was welcome here if I wanted to stay was made obvious. Should I expect the same, in every city I visit?

Still, I must admit that meeting with other heroes in a peaceful setting was nice. We exchanged contact information and all. The only thing I was less happy about was the overt flirting from a heroine named Aurora. It wasn't the first time it happened, and I doubt it would be the last, but now that I was in a relationship, that made things even more awkward than before. What's more, it wasn't publicly known that I wasn't single.

That was one topic I needed to raise with Crystal. What stance to adopt? Should Compendium declare that he was seeing someone? Without saying who of course. Should Compendium pretend that he wasn't interested in any relationship?

Despite this minor hiccup I managed to get back to Brockton Bay around ten and a half, just in time for the press conference. Backstage, I found the stars of the day.
Scarlet and Zach were wearing their new costumes, they weren't much different from the ones they had before, but those were professionally done and armored. Now, Strega, and Taurus looked the part of serious heroes.

Both of them were nervous in their own ways, Scarlet was fidgeting with one of her amulets in hand and Zach was staring blankly through the window.

Upon hearing the door opening they both turned sharply in my direction and appeared to relax by a fraction.

Strega even slumped down a bit. "Compendium! It's great to see you. I…we were afraid that you wouldn't come."

I gave them an encouraging smile. "I promise that I would. Didn't I?"

"You did. Thank you." She smiled in response and Taurus gave me a grateful nod.

We spent a few minutes talking, I tried distracting them with the prospect of their next lesson. Even if I still wasn't sure what it would entail exactly. That seems to help a bit.

Of course, their nerves came back with a vengeance when an assistant came to call them on stage.

In the end, things did go well, even if I needed to be on the stage invisible just to calm them down. There was only one question about their time in the Adept, that Strega answered very diplomatically. Saying that their beliefs weren't incompatible with a heroic inclination. On the subject of their belief, the subject was carefully avoided by saying that it was a private matter.

To celebrate the two of them officially joining the Protectorate; we all had lunch together in the cafeteria. Zach got along very well with Robin, avidly listening to stories of the speedster's travels. And Scarlet found some commonality with Hannah in the fact that they both came to the States when they were children.

The Menageries made itself known, just as I was about to drink. But before I could look closer at the new power, the artificial voice that I had only heard a handful of times before resonated in my head.

Congratulations Keeper, your Soul has grown tremendously, and you now have earned all the supporting Powers granted by the Celestial Menagerie.

That was interesting. So I guess I'll only be gaining new Partners now. Hn, it seems that the message wasn't finished.

From now you will not receive any new supporting powers. However the Celestial Menagerie will over time improve those basic Powers, either by increasing their effectiveness or by adding new functionalities to them.

The Administrators thank you for your work.

I stood dumbly, blinking repeatedly, as I tried to comprehend the fact that the Menagerie qualified all the Powers I had accumulated until now as being Basic. I could travel between Dimensions, I was functionally immortal! How was that basic?

Trying to put my shock to the side I listened with half an ear to a joke made by Ethan, while my Minds looked at the powers that complete the list.

Hn, yes. So, the last power. It's called Summon x 7, it's identical to Summon x 3 but stronger./Same size limitation, just with six additional copies of the original creature instead of two./And we can use the two powers at the same time with two different partners./Having seven Siberians on the field at the same time, could be devastating. I'm not sure of any situation so much firepower would be necessary./But that was already the case with some of our other powers.

As lunch ended, and as I got ready to continue my journey, I contemplated what could the Menagerie mean by improvement to already existing powers. I could only wait and see.

Note 1: Any suggestions for basic jutsu that Alex could learn from the Panda? Ideally, ones that are different from those taught by the Ninja Village. What would be a basic Jutsu for a clan of sapient Panda that specialized in Fuinjutsu? Remember that its affinity is Earth and now Water, but neutral jutsu are fine too. And feel free to invent them, no need to stick to canon ones.

Improvised bambo tool: in some situations, bamboo is as useful as steel. With some chakra, it can be used as steel in any situation.

Nap-no-jutsu: Soften and shape a small piece of ground around yourself into a soft bed

Watercoat: When in rain or swimming, increase the bond of all water touching your body. Protect yourself from fire. Train control. Dry yourself by shrugging off your coat.

Man I'm about to cry over a bird. As for jutsu probably some ink manipulation for a quick and dirty seal. If I remember correctly Minato was able to apply seal by touch.

With his new Bloodline I am sure he can adapt to creating Bamboo Forests/Structures.
You know that Shang-Chi movie? Specifically with that hostile moving Bamboo Forest? That. I can imagine creating and maintaining a ever shifting bamboo forest of great complexity being something they kept up to stay isolated and making small scale versions being a Hallmark jitsu. Allow individuals to control the field of battle by knowing the patterns of their own Voracious Bamboo Forest Jitsu and anyone caught becoming packed too tight to move.

Then there a bamboo bounce house. Which is basically a bouncy bamboo structure but with bamboo:

Now what about a survival jitsu? Real pandas basically eat nothing but Bamboo day in day out. So how about a Survival Jutsu that allows one to manipulate their digestive tract to consume and get the most out of a single long lasting food item even for months on end. And another one to manipulate their taste buds to think they are eating something different and still TASTY?

Edit: Given the rate of Bamboo growth perhaps a self contained packet of Fuinjutsu and particularly nutritional seeds?

Unfortunately all I can think of is bamboo related stuff.

Also a contraceptive seal but I highly doubt that would ever be relevant.

Nice. We don't have any Tyranid yet, and only one robot from Borderland.

Details:
-General Tyranid Rules

-Tyranid Warriors: By default, you summon your Tyranid Warriors without any Biomorph weapon, but if you have access to some Biomorph from this category you can summon it with up to two of them.
In that case, the Biomorphs do not count as separate creatures.

Ink manipulation is a good idea, a nice minor Suiton.

With his new Bloodline I am sure he can adapt to creating Bamboo Forests/Structures.

The idea is cool. Might make for a good variant of Mokuton. But it would necessitate a fair bit of research, and it's not a basic jutsu at all.

Food manipulation is an excellent idea. Not something that Alex really needed but it might be considered an entry-level medical jutsu. I like it.

Edit: Given the rate of Bamboo growth perhaps a self contained packet of Fuinjutsu and particularly nutritional seeds?
I'm not sure what you mean.

Also a contraceptive seal but I highly doubt that would ever be relevant.
👀*Looks over to a certain site with a certain reputation with a certain chapter related to this story*🥸 Could be relevant, could even make for a funny scene of a Panda giving Alex 'The Talk'.
You joke but Alex would love to have a contraceptive jutsu/seal, easier than carrying condoms each time he meets with his girlfriend in case they decide to get frisky.
Considering the issues faced by real-life Pandas, a fertility seal/jutsu would be more plausible, however.

You should make use of creature acquisition more often.
That way he can give away as many partners as needed
In theory, yes. But it's not that simple. Alex's ability to acquire creatures in Worm is mainly limited to normal animals. I'll try to circumvent that issue with Tinker creation and projections in the future, but even with that, the prospects aren't that great. What's more, he can only pick each animal species once. He can't go to a dog shelter and pick up all the dogs, even if they're different breed. I'm willing to make allowance for sufficiently different breeds, like picking a German shepherd and a chihuahua, but I don't want to have a dozen different normal dogs.

There's also the fact that giving a guy the ability to summon a cat once per day, does not make for a very effective hero, even with one supporting power. That's why until now, Alex mainly gave creatures to Parahuman, to boost them up.

That will change when he starts traveling to other dimensions, and he'll be able to acquire good creatures that would be redundant for him but useful for other.
