With the lack of the merchant convoy carrying critical supplies aboard and within its holds flying through the region, and with significant funds available thanks to the lack of said convoy reducing interstellar trade and a sharp upswing in the economy of Gunhallow and a steady improvement of the living conditions of Sigar IV, the decision to refurbish the ComStar JumpShip and its DropShips while creating BattleMechs (seriously, someone needs to get on that Upper-Case Mania around here) without impacting the defenses of Gunhallow was made, with both Gunhallow and Sigar IV voting for, and Planet 778 voting to abstain for now.
In response to the go-ahead, the scientists and engineers of the UNSC aboard the Furina De Fontaine and settled on its member worlds, as well as those technicians and those well-versed in the maintenance of BattleMechs, began to deliberate upon the best Mechs to produce to not merely sell the cover of a mercenary company, but also gain experience in the creation of BattleMechs that will see production and use in the UNSC.
Yet, even if it was not intended so by the designers, these early designs would drastically shape how the UNSC would produce their Mechs, Industrial and Battle-variants alike. This was even enhanced thanks to the people of Arcanum, who saw the weaponry given to them by the Furina De Fontaine and the refurbishment of the CrossCut Factory as ample enough evidence that agreeing to become a member of the Confederation would end up benefitting them immensely, to the point that those who joined the tournament and fought on the side of not joining the UNSC were drastically outnumbered, yet were defeated in a close match during a thunderstorm to the acclaim of the masses.
And so, with the Council of Clans sending volunteering warriors well-versed in the shifting favor of warfare and vehicle operations as well as their rides, Arcanum providing ample technicians who knew how to maintain something even when you had
nothing to maintain it
with, and Gunhallow providing trained Pilots for the Mechs soon to enter service with infantry for the company, only two things remained to be done: start the creation of the BattleMechs...and name the company.
Choose One Design Quirk:
(6-Hour Moratorium)
Due to starting your first designs, your nascent Military-Industrial-Complex will end up making decisions that are both great and detrimental for you in the long run. Choose carefully.
[][Quirk] Chimken Legs...SPROINK!
(Ultra-Light/Light/Medium/Heavy+Assault Tonnage Mechs gain +4/3/2/1 Jumping MP for free without any heat creation, but are forced to have Chicken Legs in exchange.)
[][Quirk] Enigmatic Construction
(Due to literally Out-Of-Universe technologies and components being used within UNSC Designs, all Designs gain the [Enigmatic Construction] Quirk, which enables a Mech to use one singular component it
Shouldn't Have.)
[][Quirk] Not Just Deadly: Sexy Too!
(All weaponry can be given the Jettison-Capable Quirk, making them hand-held without impairing their functionality. This reduces the weapons weight by 10% or 0.5 Tons, whatever is more. Also includes cosmetics to enhance the Mechs and their weaponry as their designers wish, such as casings, smoke, capes, lights, etc.)
A Name For A Company:
The Shimmering Petal Mercenary Company that has been asked to guide the endeavor has readily agreed to do so; they are being paid for doing as the client says, after all (and their upgraded weaponry and equipment don't hurt either), but they urged caution when it came time to decide upon the name of the company. It would, after all, be the literal first thing that anyone would see and hear of them.
[] CIS - Confederacy Irregular Sheriffs
(Favored by Gunhallow.)
[] Clan Smoke Jaguar
(The favored option of Sigar IV and Arcanum. The first is due to themselves being a clan-centered society, and the latter is due to the Jaguar being of spiritual and aesthetic importance to their people.)
[] Write-In
(Another name was chosen.)
