Actually, @HeroCooky, if the Dutchy were to set off a null pulse close to our larger ships, will that also completely kill the crews there too? Or was it just because our strikecraft are generally more vulnerable to its effects?
You don't know.
Also @HeroCooky thinking on it, would Logistical Infantry-Grade weapons and armor development research result in being able to field more SAG's because of the decrease in costs? or just make it less painful for raising them/replacing their equipment.
It would do both of that, yes.
@HeroCooky would using half the DP of a light freighter halve its cost like with Scouts?
No. You ideally want to flirt with as much DP as you can, even into the Negatives, for freighters.

To clarify, my argument for evacuation first is that if we don't know what kind of resources we'll be able/have to muster for an evacuation fleet, we won't know how much terraforming we'll need to do and so on.
My argument for terraforming first is that terraforming is likely to require a lot of time before it pays dividends, and we need to get on it as early as possible - and evacuation only helps if we have somewhere to evacuate people to where they won't starve.

We already do, partially? We can probably stash a few billion with only, like... big societal disruptions but well within the framework of, "Man, things change don't they" at each system.

That won't be ENOUGH, to be clear, but that's why we have both the Terraforming and the Space Station options to explore.

I think we are closer then most suspect

There are multiple parrallel plans to make the hive better able to feed itself some more complete then others:
1: Make the hive able to feed itself:
  1. two research projects: one done, one in the leading plans this turn
  2. Food production in the underhive we have taken: in progess growing as they expand
2: Take over the agri worlds
  1. Infiltrate them to reduce damage during the war: in progress by creating the propaganda in the leading plan
  2. We have a autoticker providing 4 war packs per 2 turns to help take these worlds
3: Reduce population
  1. Losses during the fighting
  2. Move population in our troop transports(and soon we design dedicated freighters for this)
  3. The existing worlds have been warned this will happen so they should be building housing and supporting infrastructure to prepare

Personally I'm voting for Terraforming because I see it as the most likely to get slow automatic action trickle like Every World a Fortress. It's certainly not a given but it seems the more likely one to slowly be done in the background.

[X] Plan: Each Piece of the Puzzle--Terraforming This Turn, Evacuation Next Turn
-[X] Hive Agriculture Expanded (0/2) x2 (1 Free Research Point)
-[X] Irrita Rush Terraformation (0/?)
-[X] [General] Propaganda For The Foreign Masses (0/3)

Incidentally, my thought for a System Rescue Group would be:

1x Heavy Cruiser (Evacuation)*
1x Heavy Cruiser (Mercy/Supplies)
4-6x Light Freighter (Mercy/Aid/Propaganda)
1x SS Rustbucket "Andromeda" Destroyer.

This would be 64-70 FP [As compared to 42 FP for a generic build action], so with the discounts created by an "SRG" system [See what we get with SBG], we would be able to probably get each group for a single action, and we'd want to have, like, 4-6 SRGs or whatnot.

*Can be changed to 2x Mercy

766.M42 - 147 Potential Candidates
"Could...you repeat that?" Diplomat Argent Joy slowly said, blinking as she tried to parse the information the Irrita had freely given her once more. "Did you say that there are 17 planets in our territory that can be terraformed?"

"Of course," the Irrita Song-of-Growth spoke again through the communicator and interpreter, the scents used to communicate tickling Argent Joy's nose. "After a search through the provided planetary information dockets you gave, we have identified 147 potential candidates for terraforming, of which 17 have the required materials and pre-cursors present or nearby in enough abundance to make undergoing the process within the next 80-to-250 years possible without excessive investment into infrastructure."

"...okay, that is...far more than I had assumed there would be. Could you point out which ones are the 17 candidates for quick terraformation?"

"Of course:"

I think for this go around, one of these two? In some ways, Howling Gale is a better bet for time. Sure it holds less, but we'll also be building some Void Stations too to hold people.

All that aside, what's "Target Ecosystem?" Is that "What it is right now" or is it "What we're going to make it into?"

Incredible!

Amut probably good as it might be done in time to be relevant for the hive.

Also Howling Gale will have a Black-Sky Myconid biosphere. MUSHROOM KINGDOM

One action per planet?
Yes, one per Planet. Colonization included. No additional terraformation costs included.

The latter.
Holy 147 terraforming candidates in our territory? Thats a lot jeez.
I mean, we can, right now IRL, see how one could terraform Venus of all places, and how that planet is a far better candidate for that than, say, Mars. So yes, there are a lot of places where planets can be terraformed if one wishes.

... The fuck is "Black Sky Myconid?"

I mean, I can see what the words mean in context, but is that implying "We're basically going to make an atmosphere on an airless rock with magic fungus?"

I think Howling Gale is our best bet in terms of, "Population vs. Terraformation Time."

would be my target, but fear that voxx fight starts before that.

For the evacuation fleet i would go for:
1x Heavy Freighter(Titanic Civilian Transportation Holdx2,Titanic Emergency Relief Cargo Holdsx1) all points used
4-6x Light Freighter (Large Civilian Transportation Hold(9)/Large Emergency Relief Cargo Holds(9),Large Mobile Civilian Manufactory(5)) 23 out 25 points
1x Freighter (Propaganda/FLT/Orders of the Guiding Hands/Medical) Light Freighter(one point over but i like to see what that results in).

At least for our first one, that's actually a meaningful dent in the Hive's population. I think as long as we can cut the population there down in half, we can likely get out of crisis mode. That'll probably be coming online in time for it to be useful at least.
