No it isn't. Everyone who voted for your plan voted by name. So you can edit the plan and it will not fuck up the tally.
People are voting for this plan and this song. Changing the plan mid-vote is not done. Feel free to make a second plan, though.
This is a conversation that would have been good to have when we were making the plans.

As for Logic: I'm not sure what it would be useful for. But to give you an idea:
Technology, Logic, and Progress would get you something akin to "Machine 1 does X with Y...make Y without Machine 1!"
This is not really what I want, I want a Song that boost Research.

We have a lot of them right now being pretty much useless, which IMO is a sign that we're not using them to their full extent, hence Songs.
They are developing Melodies, so I wouldn't say they are being useless.

And how is a psychic spell meant to generate passive research? That song is much more likely to increase our research gain per action than anything else.

For passive research you should look into the Academies write-in.

-[x] [Shipwright's Alliance Trade Deal] The Glimmering Federation had a rocky initial diplomatic contact with the Shipwright's Alliance, but past years has seen that relationship smooth out significantly with regular trading between the two powers, especially through the verdant Irrita. But these trades have highlighted the ways in which each polity surpasses the other. The Glimmering Federation has a higher overall level of technology, especially as it relates to civilian, medical and heavy industry. Both are experienced shipbuilders, but the Shipwright's alliance has knowledge of many Imperial-derived techniques that surpass the capabilities of the Federation. More violent civilizations might seek to seize such advances, but both countries are war-weary and mislike the idea of fighting a potential friend in such a hostile galaxy. To that end, a proposal has been raised by the Federation Council to carry out an exchange of knowledge, where the Federation offers many fundamental technologies and manufacturing techniques in return for the shipbuilding expertise of the Alliance. However, such an exchange would empower both polities, and make any following war ever more destructive. Therefore, a parallel proposal has been made for a defensive alliance, to come to each others' aid if claimed systems are attacked. The proposal is flexible, able to be tailored to the desires of the Alliance, and contains cut-outs for if the attack was provoked by the nation under attack.

654.M42 - The Black Sheep
Though the navy of the Glimmering Federation was neither neglected nor was it the Black Sheep, the crews and ships of the nation delivered again and again victories and heroic actions, even at the cost of many lives lost in its long history. Be it the Thules scything through the void in their fighters and bombers, the engineering clans urging their charges on to ever more fantastic feats and outputs, or the gunnery crews sighting and firing with professional abandon upon their designated foes with macro-shell, missile, lance, and torpedo.

To say that the Glimmering Navy was anything but a military body of professionalism and veterancy that has endured and secured nearly seven centuries of stability and peace to the ever-expanding Core Worlds of the Federation would be an insult that no crew would let stand without broken noses or punched out teeth.

And yet, though it roars through the void with an ever-expanding thunder and beating of drums within the stellar hearts and abyssal minds that fuel and guide the power and the weapons of their ships, they, too, have to tackle and deal with the same daemons that any human civilization had to deal with the second they were more than one member strong.

Corruption.

Graft.

Bureaucratic Bloat.

But while all three specters are dealt with on a daily basis, the fight against them never-ending and eternally consuming nation after nation until everything shall be dead, one specter haunts the navy above all others: the Task Fleet System.

Initially created for a much smaller nation and fleet, the TFS was designed around the concept that standing fleets stationed in a specific area for extended periods would neither be feasible nor a sound strategic decision at the Sub-Sector level scale of the Federation. Since then, the planets and people under the aegis of the navy have expanded dramatically, with travel time already slowly creeping back to make itself known, and the time to go from furthest edge to furthest edge is already approaching three weeks. So, for the first time in the Federation's history, a revision is needed to future-proof the navy.

And though it would be one thing to assign a Task Fleet to a specific front and leave it at that, the planners and think tanks believe that a step beyond should be taken: creating Standard Fleet Templates and Specialist Fleet designators. The first would encompass what a typical fleet of the Glimmering Federation looks like, from the number of ships to the classes (or equivalent roles) within, which, incidentally, would allow for a far more accurate threat analysis for the High Council and the Admiralcy. In addition, procurement of a fleet would be quicker and less costly if done wholesale instead of piecemeal, thanks to the wonders of macroeconomics raising their heads. At the same time, the latter would be a place to store and order all vessels that are either a hindrance in void battles or have uses outside the typical responsibilities of the navy.

The only question is, what would that look like?

[] (Write-In)
(Write in the number of ships within an SFT, what classes should be within, what specific roles need to be filled (4 Carriers should be the minimum for your Doctrine; have this as a freebie by me), and a naming scheme if you desire.)

In three other news, yet still occupying the minds of the navy, the first of which is that the Kil'drabi have recently finished work on their newest batch of ships, the two Battlecolonies 'Light of the Feather' and 'Paths We Yearn' have joined the ranks of the navy, alongside their escorts of eight Words of the Writ Frigates.

The second piece of information is that the Yeeni Spirit of Discovery Scout-Class Light Cruiser has returned with another find of note. Or rather, two things of note, even if that note is an old one: another two of the black-green ships have been found and towed back to the Federation. Currently, they rest next to the other ship recovered and are still a source of much frustration and mental breaks for those assigned to poke them with science.

The third is that the Order of the Eternal March, a Star-Mechanicum Faith Order, has requested escorts and funding to establish an outpost in the "Where Dreams Bloom" system in Sub-Sector Ishanu so that they can study and investigate the rumors regarding the "Archotech Warp Lines" reported there.

[] We don't have time for that.

(Let HeroCooky have some Crack, as a treat. Write-In a Universe, Location, Time, and what Forces you wish to send, and then let us have some non-canon shenanigans. :D)

Let's send them to the Star Trek universe.

I'm sure nothing will go wrong.

EDIT: Just send them in right when the Borg attack Earth, have them brawl it out, and get some practice in for the Necrons.

Hmm, okay, gimmie a sec on this.

Heavy Strike Force Composition:
-[ ] 1x Heavy Cruiser
-[ ] 5x Light Carriers
-[ ] 2x Pathfinders
-[ ] 4x Light Cruisers
-[ ] 10x Heavy Frigates

Broadly, this gets us one Heavy Spearhead, 5 DPSboats, and 4 Line Holders supplemented by 10 solid escorts to let us put a wall of firepower between us and the frigates. The default assumption is that this'll be a Leo/Libra/Andromeda/Scorpio/Crux group, but I'm using Role Names here for good reason. This should be as solid battlegroup that can take on anything that doesn't significantly surpass it in tonnage. I think once we do the tech trade, we'll also be able to mod the Andromedas to be fleet range extenders as well. The numbers will naturally be tweaked based on how our fleet sizes increase, but this is a 20 unit task force capable of projecting power well and engaging hostile formations with a high degree of success, while more Task Forces means More Power. Mind you, this largely is going to cost much of our present navy, and we're not going to be able to produce many of them because they're a roughly 4 AP overlay to construct a HSF from scratch at our current degree of industry. On the other hand, this is a force that even Significant Powers will have to sit up and take Notice of and treat very seriously.

Light Task Force Composition:
-[ ] 1x Pathfinder
-[ ] 1x Light Carrier
-[ ] 1x Light Cruiser
-[ ] 2x Heavy Frigate
-[ ] 5x Corvettes
-[ ] 1x Troopship

Meanwhile, this is our more affordable layout that's intended for general purpose use. Outside of the Pathfinder, we can put one of these in the void for a single AP. Good for general Fast Response, picket fleets, and bulking up HSFs when we're at war.

On a closer examination, I just realized this is fundamentally way too overgunned for our current industry. We might get here later, but we're not there yet. I mathed this out as needing 142 Fleet Points to construct a single one of these--4 AP worth.

Now, while a single one of these can absolutely shitstomp anything but what a Significant Power can muster, it's still a bit rich for our blood at present. Gonna make two drafts then.

We have a bit of a primer in what our fleets should look like here:

Ghosts Amidts The Stellar Winds is an Equipment to a Ship Class that builds a Narrative within the Warp for them, similar to how the Cobra has [Cradle of Heroes] as an Equipment. It brings with it meta-physical advantages that are not represented in the material metrics of a ship but are shown in the lore and flavor portion of what the ships actually manage to pull off despite the odds.

They are used by your fleets as skirmishers, which, while part of a Frontline, is the portion that does not goe toe-to-toe with an enemy.
Okay, for your fleet a "Line" means anything that is able to tie up the enemy fleet by Being In Their Face. You have a Carrier Doctrine, which means that you require 1. Carriers, 2. Escorts for those Carriers, 3. Ships that are In The Enemies Face. You have the first and second, but are lacking in Heavy Cruisers. An ideal fleet (in a 20 Ships Task Force), from my POV for you, would be 4 Carriers, 3~4 Heavy Cruiser Brawlers, 4~6 Light Cruiser Lineholders, 4~6 Destroyer/Frigate Skirmishers, and 2~4 Destroyer/Frigate Scouts. If you are operating with a 30 Ship Task Force, add 4 more Carriers and up the Skirmishers and Scouts.

And I have not seen your posts as an attack, just someone confused and wanting clarification. Don't worry about that. :V

Compared to your proposal:

Heavy Strike Fleet Composition:
-[ ] 1x Heavy Cruiser
-[ ] 5x Light Carriers
-[ ] 2x Pathfinders
-[ ] 4x Light Cruisers
-[ ] 10x Heavy Frigates

So actually you're really about on point, but should probably add a couple of destroyers for scouting purposes. I also think we'll get more efficient about building them, that's hinted at here. Ultimately, i think this is aspirational, and we actually can start building a fleet in a couple actions soon.

Light Task Force Composition:
-[ ] 1x Pathfinder
-[ ] 1x Light Carrier
-[ ] 1x Light Cruiser
-[ ] 2x Heavy Frigate
-[ ] 5x Corvettes
-[ ] 1x Troopship

Meanwhile, this is our more affordable layout that's intended for general purpose use. Outside of the Pathfinder, we can put one of these in the void for a single AP. Good for general Fast Response, picket fleets, and bulking up HSFs when we're at war.
Is that a valid composition? Our doctrine forcues us to use carriers.

They're not meant to be deployed individually against a Hardened Target.

TBH, a Task Fleet we can put in the void with just 1 AP blows most of its budget just on the Libras to produce that. As things stand, this still does have a Taurus and an Andromeda, which can both double as carriers (If not as powerful ones as Libras)

Well now I'm torn. On the one hand I want the Crossover because it would be cool and funny, on the other I wouldn't want to ruin the story beat for the Pilgrm quest.
Well, I can at least give an abbreviated version of what would happen:
Star-Mechanicum and Co: "Where are we?"
Local Choir: "THE LEAVES! THE LEAVES! THE LEAVES!"
Mes: "What the fuck."
Black Forest: "Uh, do you need a way home?"
White Forest: "Ew."
Slatnan Empire: "...redact that, REDACT THAT!!!"
The SBA: "What the fuck?"
The Eversun: *Highly Advanced Heretics Sighted* *Initiate Technology Grab*
Dul: "Do you want to buy something?"
The Pilgrims: *Literally cannot affect them in any way.*
What about a drop into your Redshirt/SOL quest?
You have me at a disadvantage here, what Redshirt/SOL quest of mine are you referring to?

You are not organizing Task Fleets, but Proper Fleets That Will Fuck 'Yo Shit Up here. Task Fleets will be more about fleets made from scratch to get a single thing done from here on out.

You should look at what you want your ideal 100% strength fleet to look like, not what you can "afford" here.

I wouldn't be surprised if our building capacity increases dramatically soon - between our new colonies and conquests becoming operational and trade, I might expect a 30% increase.

Also - this might unlock (or we could write in) an action to build more/better shipyards to make every build action produce more fleet points.

This is our transition to the big leagues, gentlefolk.
