Huh, so we took the path forward that didn't gain us something New, but also didn't force us to take any horrible devil's bargains, instead we IDed the threat, recognized the degree of danger it had, and took it out with Extreme Prejudice?

Huh

Well that was...something.

I'm...I guess okay with letting the Yeeni colonize the planet? Just hope there isn't anything unpleasant as the fucking teleporting false-hydras waiting for them there.

Eh, I'm ok with this. We've got enough on our plate, though a new melody would have been nice.

Yeah, let's let the Yeeni go wild. What needs to happen for them to reach Kin again?

do we have augmented soldiers or have we not build them yet? cause i want to test if the false hydra works on tehm or some star mechanicus and different technology/data sources cause the tracker still worked, will cameras, audio recorders, etc. work?

It's psychic, if you're human enough to have a soul, you're subject to their Song.

So, Their are a few possible outcomes I can see. We let the Yeeni settle their, aaaand the false hydra wannabe's are also their, meaning we need to deploy our army with actions because the lamenters just took a beating cleansing one planet, and even then, they still moniker themselves as "Defenders of humanity" so they might feel salty if we then ask them to take massive causalties doing the same for yeeni by cleansing the SECOND planet

The Yeeni Settle... and we learn their is a DIFFRENT warp Hybrid creature, Put together by the same people who fused the Displacer beats with the Archoetech Engine, along with a possibly side order of more False Hydra Beasts, and we have to deploy our armies to cleanse them or abandon the planet.

Or third, The yeeni settle and find Remains of the Civ that Fused biological flesh to Warp Based technology. This can very well be a bad thing or a good thing.

... The last possibility is that we don't settle, In which case its a beartrap waiting to happen... Or their is nothing their.

Mundane Chaos threat and the religious fobs here raising a stink that they aren't getting priority tickets away from the front. The Not!False Hydras weren't near starving back then as they had when you were setting down tasty souls again.

Ah, good, and the Imperium doesn't give enough of a shit to raise an alarm if people randomly go missing, huh?

I wonder how many small scale disasters are running around that the Imperium just... Considers the Cost of Doing Business and isn't even aware of.

1. There is also a massive difference due to your culture basically making the elites take notice when you got 30+ disappearances in a pool of a million people within two years.
2. Vampires. Literally.

Map has updated guys.

Now if you would all look at the top of the map, you'll see those three systems with the very scary, esoteric names that are more akin to a fucking EAS broadcast than Red Flags.

My opinion is.....grab our shit and settle those systems as soon as possible.

My rational side tells me no. But the loot goblin within me is screaming for more loot, even if it means throwing hands these Black Ash mfers to get there.

Its been what, 600 years since the imperium left?

From the looks of it, They went into some for of hibernation, and Sending Child and Man would have woken up more then the outlier's, Kicking off a feeding frenzy. AS is, from the side event it looks like a single one that had gorged itself... On like 10 ish People in a nineish month peroid. Given standard imperial Populations, If the False hydra's had eaten... lets say once a month during this "feeding frenzy" it might have eaten only a couple times a year when not starved, If that, Even if the Entire population was awake, Instead of some form of food coma/hibernation between meals, we could be looking at numbers as low as a few hundred a month, or even a year depending on the population of creatures.

For Imperials? That's CHUMP numbers, An Administrator wouldn't even have bothered to write that off.
Honestly? we are lucky in two ways. First, seemingly only one false hydra woke up from its hybernation that they went into to survive the loss of food, And second that it decided to gorge itself after being starved.

The false Hydra's Form of Gorging was like 10 souls before we killed it, If The false hydra Hadn't been gorging itself and was just picking off stragglers in a way that can be waived off easier, the colony might not have even gotten a clue when the rest woke up in a feeding frenzy.

So, we've got a Minor in the form of the Black Ash Clan, a WTF tier region that's bridged with archaeotech and is presumably a Hazard Zone, a OSM that apparently is in a position to play kingmaker, and an Imperial Successor in the form of the Hegemony.

Fortunately, the warp geometry in Ishanu is closer to Archwan level simplicity than the madness that is Amratur or Macabre, so it shouldn't be a huge drain on our logistics, though we should definitely prioritize getting our Task Group modernization sorted out soon.

We also have nigh hegemony over a middle-large Subsector, nigh hegemony over a lower-middle Subsector, and uncontested control over a small subsector. We're moving on up in the world!
