I already have something planned for that, but it is free if you wish to make it an official "We Are Doing This" thing.
I like seeing all the tiny stars surrounding the Webway Gate. @HeroCooky how do our defenses around the gateway compare to the Imperial defenses around Voxx?
Vastly inferior. Those things are basically 50+ million people per with guns, industry, and defenses to match.

Is it worth/possible for us to try to build those kind of defenses to guard the Gateway? Just without that many people.
I doubt it; we probably get all we reasonably could; if Eldar weren't planning to close it, I could be convinced, but with their plans to shut it down, I think it isn't worth it.

Maybe if we get an alliance with them and start cleaning the local webway and maybe other stuff later on(I always like it when humanity helps Eldar free Isha)

suggestion: but ferry the portal inside or to the extreme proximity of a sun, so as to destroy anything that comes out of there? at least we shouldn't fear any tricks from the eldar (whether the snobbish ones or the dark ones).

Presumably, the real issue is just that it's a very small chokepoint, so we can fill it with guns to get a similar level of impact.

[] [Frigate] Ghost Class Scout Ship
-[] Sketch (Purely Optional)
-[] Length
- 1.600 (+3 DP)
-[] Width - 350 (+3 DP)
-[] Acceleration - 7 Gravities
-[] Armor - Thick Single Hull
-[] Shields - One Array
-[] Weapons - Small Mine-Layers (-1 DP)
-[] Equipment
- Refractive Hull Coating (-2 DP), Ship Shrines (-1 DP), Enhanced Supply Generation (-1 DP), Stealth Engine Dampeners (-4 DP), Emergency Transition Warp Breakers (-5 DP), Ghosts Amidts The Stellar Winds (-10 DP), Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations (-1)

This is actually technically viable, and it gets all but one of the Stealth upgrades, including the maximum one. It has the Emergency Transition because again, in times of trouble the job is to run the fuck away, because this is specifically a special Scout for limited runs of production meant to be aimed at high-danger targets/environments.

Not really for anyone who wants to use that portal, they could simply use something similar to an emp and Disable all our defenses and then have free rein to do whatever they want. the only way would be to do what they do in stargate, that is, to put an iris plate to prevent anyone from entering their base.

They're known for betraying the Imperium. And who can blame them? Look what happened when we didn't betray the Mechanicum on Qulach's Forge.

Ah but we are not the imperium…but as it is, we have to consider the potential for things to be done…and I do want to get all V items…before we do a mass technological upgrade because good lord we have a backlog…and automated shipyards are 2 points while I think the standardization is now 3 points/actions…meaning we can potentially look at incorporating a 1 DP item across all our ships.

Fair is also fair, they were doing this shit from the start, well before there was all the Bad Blood too.

The Eldar are very much not the poor abused children of history. They've created many of their own biggest headaches out of arrogance (Like the fact they can't be assed to disavow the Dark Space Elfs, or the fact that their pride is such that they quite literally consider other species to be animals in denial rather than living beings in their own right, with only vanishingly rare exceptions who get to be treated as particularly slow children instead)

Cobalt Terrapin Works (CTW) has released concepts for a line of macro-cannon brawlers as well as a potential production line version of the Leo and the Andromeda-Secundus.
---
Leo Heavy Cruiser
-Length - 4.800m
-Width - 700m
-Acceleration - 3 Gravities (-1)
-Armor - Thick Triple Hull
-Shields - One Lattice
-Weapons - 1x Medium Boarding Hangar/2x Heavy Rotary Macrocannon Batteries/1x Anti-Voidcraft Defenses (Total: 36 Boarding Craft) (-11)
-Equipment - Armored Lifepods/Ship Shrines/Auto-Loaders/Lattice Hulls/Strict Pilot Training/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Harsh Crew Training/Yeeni Auxiliary Engineer Division/Internal Security Systems/Armored Bridges(-14)
A/N:
My take on the production model of the Leo. Not too much has changed on the design. A bit tankier, a bit faster. Gave it a PD weapon slot as well as internal security since it'll be stuck in close, and boarders will be a thing when going up against Chaos (and other enemies soon enough). Would have liked to have fit in Snapshot, but there definitely wasn't any room for that.

[] Lynx Light Cruiser
-[] Length - 4.000 Meters
-[] Width - 500 Meters
-[] Acceleration - 5 Gravities (-1)
-[] Armor - Thin Double Hull
-[] Shields - Three Arrays
-[] Weapons - 1x Medium Fighter Hanger/2x Medium Rotary Macro-Cannon Batteries/1x Anti-Voidcraft Defenses (-9)
-[] Equipment - Armored Lifepods/Strict Pilot Training/Veteran Pilot Gene-Lines/Internal Security Systems/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Auto-Loaders/Lattice Hulls/Anti-Radiation Hardening/Snapshot Pinpoint Targeting Solutions (-14)
A/N:
A mid-weight brawler meant to bulk up the battle line. Nothing too amazing, but I was able to fit in some nice equipment in which will help the ship land its shots.

[] Felis Flak Frigate
-[] Length - 1.900 Meters
-[] Width - 500 Meters
-[] Acceleration - 7 Gravities
-[] Armor - Thick Single Hull
-[] Shields - One Array
-[] Weapons - 3x Anti-Voidcraft Defenses/1x Light Plasma Macro-Cannons Battery(-8)
-[] Equipment - Armored Lifepods/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Lattice Hulls/Anti-Radiation Hardening/Auto-Loaders/Snapshot Pinpoint Targeting Solutions
A/N:
My attempt at a flak frigate. Its not meant to be stuck in with the battle line. Rather, it'll escort the HVT's of our fleets, taking accurate potshots and intercepting any light raiders, voidcraft, torpedoes, etc. trying to get at our backline. Might also make for a decent SDF craft.
---
Andromeda Secundus-Class Command Ship
-Length - 3.800 Meters (+1)
-Width - 450 Meters (+1)
-Acceleration - 5 Gravities (-1)
-Armor - Thin Double Hull
-Shields - Three Arrays
-Weapons - 1x Medium Mixed Hangar (Total: 24 Fighters, 12 Bombers) (-1)
-Equipment - Veteran Pilot Genelines/Armored Bridges/Strict Pilot Training/Handpicked Pilots/Hymns of the Machines/Medium Repair Bay (-21)
A/N:
Honestly, most of the Andromeda is already bespoke for. Crowbarred in a med repair bay since at least one will be with the fleet at all times and a little bit more healing between turns might make all the difference if we ever go all in on a long campaign again.

Turrets are not good for brawlers. Needs to be broadsides because broadside guns are significantly less vulnerable to critseeking
Huh, I thought I had converted those into Batteries. Must have forgotten when copying the previous version. Will fix.
You what we're missing for this kind of ship? Big honking sensors.

@HeroCooky is there a way for us to build better/more expensive sensor suites for our ships?
[ABSTRACTED FOR SANITY REASONS]

Deer God, please don't make me add Sensors and E-War Equipment, I beg of you!

Glancing at the map for 621 it seems like the Mashan has managed to rebuild their defense line after the Chaos offensive but Chaos has also rebuilt and if the thunderdome in Weznicrritt ends in the favor of Slaanesh followers they could browbeat the rest of Chaos forces in the sector to falling in line and launching another offensive against the Mashan.
