tanks things like a Heavy Cruiser with less HP and a fraction of the cost

 Careful their, We really haven't even FOUGHT a Full cruiser before, We can't really judge the durability difference That sheer size brings, Let alone What the higher budget in turn lets a Cruiser/Heavy Cruiser do, IN ADDITION to the fact that it will be packing Much much better DPS.

The Super Crux will be a monster, and probably blow the Sword out of the water, but Careful with the hubris their when The last time we saw cruisers of any size, they got utterly face tanked by our Allies of convenience and barely looked at us.

I will accept literally no other version of not taking Med Infrastructure if it doesn't double up next turn, because despite everyone's stupid rambling about Med Infra being a "shiny" we've basically never taken it and aren't going to take it consistently unless we force it.

I'm in favor of this. This turn I think @Alectai's got the right of it. Build Crux's, then later upgrade them to the tanky mofos that protect our precious Thule's stuff.

...

Huh. I just had a visceral flashback to that one side mission in Rogue Trader TTRPG where you have to get a Writ of Trade from the local administratum.

---

Anyway, yeah I agree with doing double Cruxes and infantry research for this turn, then probably double medical and attack End of Line next turn.

I could agree to a double medical next turn, if we get the double Crux and infantry this turn, yes.

I don't really think we should do double Medical. We still have a lot of shit to do and while Med V would be nice, it isn't that vital to rush for it within the next 4 turns. I'd rather stick to a steady pace and just go for one Med while making more ships or researching that Chaos shit.

I want to get medical V because there's a chance we get an upgrade that means we no longer lose medical when integrating planets. That would have saved us... Somewhere around 6 actions so far.

TBF, we have been losing med when we were integrating planets that have very shitty standards of living, and the amount of med we had to commit has technically gone down since instead 1 for a planet, it was 2 for 4 planets.

Still, I really think we should be building up our navy.

We'll just have to see the board state then, next turn. Double Medical, or maybe reacting to something.

We will see.

That aside...

--[X] 6x Crux

I don't think this'll qualify for a turn break, since most of our infantry stuff is fine. Just getting up to Sororitas standard for our infantry feels like where we'll get here.

We've already committed to quality after all, our tech level is good enough to produce armor that surpasses the best modern standard for Space Marines, if we don't have environmentally sealed light power armor for our infantry combined with a logistically tolerable battle rifle as our baseline, then what are our forges even doing?

Especially since I can't really see anything being better than carapace but isn't powered armor.

...

What do you think the odds are that we'll dig out the old Volkite designs? They fell out of fashion in the Great Crusade because they were challenging to produce, and were thus replaced by the boltgun, which was simple to build, even if the ammunition was expensive to produce and more logistically difficult due to being solid rounds.

I don't think we'll get a turn break at any rate, but I'm curious to see what the research gives us.

I really want a Brawler LC design, BUT it won't be ready for next turn, and if we are devoting to a fight, never go in half cocked

Actually, If we design a LC we'll be making it so we would have a LC ready next turn.

You can not do so, ships constructed in a Turn are generally being constructed, shaken down, and filled with crew during the 10 year Turn. Getting them to a battle within that time-frame is already a tall order for Frigates, and outright a "You Wot" moment for Light Cruisers and up.
Pretty sure we can't. We would be building the scorpio and attacking in the same turn, Meaning no, The scorpio cannot participate in the attack. A Ship cannot attack the same turn it is made, meaning even if we design it now, we can't have a brawler LC ready to go.
