Holy shit how did they already fuck up? It hasn't even a full action.

It has, in fact, been like, one fucking year since the turn started before their attack began, and they rolled it up in record time.

They had one job. They can't even blame this on us! There's barely been enough time for them to even recognize that we're next door yet!

God damnit. At least we can respond, period, instead of "Half the sub-sector grins evilly and turns black on the map"

EDIT: Oh yeah @HeroCooky , us having HI 5 before they finished their Power Armor and personal gear propagation, how does it stack up to actual Space Marine gear now? Better? Worse? Sidegrades?

I'm just bitching and blustering. The Principality of Neon continues to be a disappointment in every way, shape, and form. I fear the Neo Neon remnants that will be plaguing us for the next three centuries when they finally lose at their final asteroid fortress.
At least them loosing their armory world must be pretty bad for their war efforts against us.

And will they be able to be a big annoyance without worlds to make supplies for them?
(Unless we let them grow a pirate fleet that can supply itself through raiding)

I kinda want to throw everything at this one. Have the andromedas run back and forth carrying troops until like 3/4 of our SAGs are present. Though getting them out may be a pain.

Man with the Astral Claws revelation the Lamenters will be at the frontlines now. But that also means that there's basically nothing covering the backlines against the pirates save for the SDFs. Though admittedly all our SDFs should have a light cruiser sized ship heading up the defense fleets.

Yeah…as horrible as it sounds can we just kill all the chaos guys but then let Neon reclaim the world? We really don't need a war on two fronts.

Also building ships just became even more important.

Like okay, I knew talking out one-third of their fleet would have consequences but I didn't expect those consequences to be the immediate and utter folding of a fucking armoury world. They were planning on trying to swing at us as well with those dictators but damn now what.

You know with Gathin being the next big battlefield I'm glad the Anansi won. I probably should have made it somewhat modular so that it could fit in missile launchers too though. Ah well.

Still, the Anansi should reap quite the toll on the Chaos gits' light and medium armor.

Literally nothing we did should have impacted Gathin 's military readiness, it's why I keep lambasting them.

They had one fucking job and they blew it.

It wasn't one third of their fleet. It was one third of *one* fleet. They have 3 more fleets as strong as our fleet and one fleet that's stronger than our fleet.

As I pray to Shin, Lena, and the 86 to let the Anansi win this day for us. But yeah the Anansi isn't terrible at urban warfare.

Oh, so it's just utter incompetence. Cool. Glad to know that they folded like a fucking blanket. Hopefully they-no wait they wouldn't even know that the planet fell. We figured it out through some techno bullshit.

I don't even think that our taking a swing at them is what opened them up to this astral claw offensive, I think that is putting to much stock in the Waves caused by player actions. In this case, The thing that opened them up for this raid is PROBABLY the Chaos Astropath Plot that we discovered.

On the bright side, If this happened without our offensive, their is not garentee that we would be able to react as fast as we can, meaning the Astral claws could take more time to arm themselves and chaos augmented meatbags with imperial gear, which even if they didn't swing that at us, was probably going to be directed to cracking the neons who are fighting chaos. As is, Our kicking the astral claws in the junk might screw up someones who was planning on a fully armed chaos army and fleet to cause Havoc on the flank.

Okay so good news: while the map has yet to update it's likely that we're not going to be facing the entirety of the chaos fleet labelled as 'stronger than our entire navy'.
If they brought that entire fleet the protectorate of Neon would take advantage and claim/destroy Valhidem.

It's likely not incompetence as much as Chaos shenanigans. Not a lot of fleets would work well if they got hit with Surprise! Chaos Spawn in their ships at the same time as a attack from a Chaos fleet.

I am trying to think as to how it even happened. Like yeah, the Astropath plot going off is probably the thing that happened. It was too quick. Imperial worlds are supposed to be hellish to take on a good day. This was way too quick. Especially to a chaos force that they knew was there and were probably actively fighting.

Edit: At the same time it could have been that they were just rolled after our initial attack and then this happened. Like 3 planets falling as fast as they did is not something most polities can shake off

We probably didn't affect this happening, but we've definitely thrown a wrench in whatever Neon can do to respond to it. Not that they can't respond, but now they have to worry about us as well.

In fairness the two aren't mutually exclusive, see Neon's attempt to clone navigators.
They cloned Astropaths. And they did so likely because they were that desperate.

Plus Chaos plot was why they turned into Chaos Spawn bombs. Without them being pre-corrupted by Chaos shenanigans the astropaths would probably be a usable enough for Neon to utilize them. But it would have cost a lot of Astropath clones and they'd have to shoot them constantly to stop possessions.

About equal to MK.10 Power Armor.

Which should tell you how absolutely goated your Star-Mechanicum is once allowed to innovate.

You didn't do that. To pull the curtain back, that was a 6-Action equivalent Chaos Infiltration popping off at the right moment.
They had one fucking job and they blew it.
You keep forgetting that Chaos is a memetic threat that gets hooks into your brain and soul after you merely looked at Chaos stuff if you don't have enough single-minded faith or willpower to resist its pull. And that the Imperium specced into the [Repression and Murder Heretics] skill tree to deal with that, unlike your [A Better Age] one.

As Roboute Guilliman said (paraphrased): "What reason does one have to refuse a Daemons offer if they already dwell in hell?"
We figured it out through some techno bullshit.
You literally use scouts to get that kind of info.
Okay so good news: while the map has yet to update
But I did do that?
