NOOOOOO!!!!!!! FFFFFFFUUUUUCCCCKKK OFFFF NIDS!!!!

Diaconate gets to live another day (no doubt thanks to some Tzneetchian bullshit at play).

Wonder if the Shadow in the Warp has any effect on our choirs, cause it would suck if they did. Really hope the Duchy helps us wipe these guys out quick.......because it's too much to ask for to annihilate wanna-be Imperials apparently.

So, in short we seem to be fine with our little friends fighting the Diaconate for now, Nids are on their way and we need to make sure we are ready to rumble. Anything of particular note we should probably focus on to get ready for that?

If you guys want to hold off on the Diaconate to fill court press on the 'Nids, I am sincerely asking you to consider a self-sustaining intrigue action against the Diaconate to at least ruin their lives for a little while we take care of the swarm coming our way.

Otherwise, I'd put in a free action letting our allies know "hey, there's a fucking Tyranid swarm coming our way!!" Hopefully the medical trade awhile back helped with detecting Genestealers.

At the very least, we know what works best against the Nurglids, which should also do good work against the actual Tyranids, which is "Lances, lances, and more lances." PROMETHEAN GAZE on a tactical level can't hurt either.

No. The 'nids are the End-Slide Enemy faction. You still have around...~2 months of Updates (so 'till the 28nd/end of February) of Updates. That's 50 Turns, or 500 Years.
Otherwise, I'd put in a free action letting our allies know "hey, there's a fucking Tyranid swarm coming our way!!"
You have no fucking clue that Tyranids are coming until the Duchy tells you that some shit is happening. You only know that a nebulous enemy will arrive from the north-east that can manipulate biology. So no meta-gaming here! ( :V )

Oh, so they're not here yet? That's great — could you put it in the update so we don't have to have an eternal cycle of "aieee the Tyranids are here" "no they're not yet" in the thread?

Edit: So we know they'll take about 500 years / 50 turns to get here, and we have about 100 years / 10 turns left or so of integrating the new territories. That being said, it takes about ~300 years / 30 turns for these territories to be fully integrated / exploitable / recovered — could we also consider that write-in I had awhile ago about an office of immigration and stuff that could chop that down to 100 years / 10 turns? 200+ more years of full economic power with all our new territories should be decently impactful, IMO. Especially if we want to integrate with Shipwrights too.

Edit2: @HeroCooky, are Write-Ins under General or something else for the purpose of Songs?

The Duchy likely pushed out a bunch of listening posts fairly far in the general direction as a early warning net. So there's likely a good amount of time before the Tyranids arrive.

*But* the 'nids coming means that the Duchy's north eastern fringe is lousy with Genestealer cults that are signaling the Hivefleet.

We need to do the memorial action and boosting the Coalition.

@HeroCooky Questions!

1. Can you be more detailed about what we know of the Nids? Are we automatically redeploying at least some stuff towards them? OOC we know about the shadow of the warp cutting off anywhere that gets invaded. Do we know anything about that - through the warp observatory if nothing else?
2. Is there a rough estimate based on the deep listening distance about how far out there are? Are we talking 0-3 turns, 3-8 or 8-12? If the answer is "Who the hell knows" then that's a thing.
3. Have we caught any weird mutants coming from the Duchy? We put in pretty strict screening processes waayyy back when after we got the prophecy. Have we found any Genestealers trying to nose their way in?
4. Is the benefit of integrating new territory back-loaded or distributed? If we spend 4 actions this turn integrating new territory will our fleet capacities/build points/colonization rate jump immediately, or do we have to finish integrating all 17 sub-sectors for that?
5. We can do bonus actions to boost the integration as long as they're not the first action, right? Like the first action of integration can't contribute to bonus actions, but the follow-up ones do? Basically, if we do three actions of integration, does that trigger Devouring Mechadendrite at all?
6. We have no songs or anything that boost [Faith] actions, which feels like a hole in our current song arsenal. Any hints towards that? Something with Love, Song, Compassion, Mercy, Humanity? Might need more faith actions (like saints?) to accomplish with that.
7. Can we categorize the following write-in under a general action? Seems like it should fit under [] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication
Write-In:
Send in Subversion/Infiltration/Intelligence Gathering/Sabotage teams into the Holy Diaconate for a long-term espionage mission, with whatever support needed to make it a self-sustaining mission (i.e. Logistics Ships, Chamleons, Scout Sloops, the Choirs, etc). Their mission is to prepare ground for the inevitable conflict with the Holy Diaconate, buy time for the Coalition and to support their war effort, and if possible, save as many souls as possible. Their primary mission is to remain undetected and gather intelligence as much as possible to gain a full dossier on the Holy Diaconate (and as much actionable intelligence that can be shared with the Coalition) -- everything else comes after this, and if the following actions are impossible or unwise in light of this, do not do them. Afterwards, prepare to sabotage the Diaconate's war effort, assassinate non-turnable leaders (and turn those who we can), and even steal research if at all possible [Extreme Stretch Goal]. Finally, try to find native recruits, foil the plans of Chaos, and seed Star Child Cults if at all possible -- it has been many centuries since the conflict with Neon, but after fracturing, nearly all of their systems turned to Chaos within the decade -- with a power of the Diaconate's size, this cannot be afforded.

With us not having any non-metagame-y Infos on the 'nids, how about focussing preaching (+boosting) our proxy vs imperialcunts and do the "minor version of their major trait" thing with dutchy and grove?
More traits (equivalent to the per Xeno minor traits?) could be usefull.
Especially considering that Dutchy seem to focus on automation and grove on growth.
Both things that could be very beneficial to scale even harder, making us even harder hitting against our enemies.

Oh, so they're not here yet?
They don't even have the first stage of the first tendril of a deep-range scout ship anywhere near what the Duchy would consider monitored territory. Imagine some rock on pluto getting nabbed by a bug while your advance notice sensor network is stationed/centered around Luxembourg.

Depends on the Write-In.

1. You don't know anything about them...until you get more information than "biological manipulator Xenos" from the Duchy/Your efforts against them. Then the vengeful ghost of Chyron will spontaneously manifest and yeet himself at the fleet at several trillion times the speed of light. (You will also get search hits in your databanks from looking through what information about various hostile Xenos/Forces Chyron had written down, so that will give you a massive head-start.)
2. They will appear once the Quest ends on the 28th of February.
3. Nope!
4. All integration. It is a level uplift with some targeted areas instead of a roll-out to prevent Chaos cha-cha'ing back into the region on the back of pissed off and neglected "citizens" treated as an afterthought for centuries.
5. Yeah, that is kosher.
6. A Faith Song would have the Mercy of the Star Child arrive at the end of ropes. They are not a peaceful deity.
7. I'll sanction it.

Oh - @HeroCooky Sorry more questions.
1. What's up with the ISC: [Anomaly Identified]? Should we just leave ISC alone for a bit?
2. And why is the ministry of subversion green?
3. Can I just target "Sub-sector Ishanu" for subversion or do I have to be more specific.

Still, based on all of this I think I'm going to pitch the following plan. We want to get the new territory integrated. It'll double just about everything, so lets get it done so we get more action per action. As well as unlocking more bonus action shenanigans again.

[] Plan: Faith, Subversion and Integration
-[-] [General] Integrate The New Territories (7/17)
-[] [Free] [AUTOMATIC] System Subversion
--[] Once the subversion of Orbital habitat Jak-Hal is complete, switch target to sub-sector Ishanu.
-[] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand (Ambrosius)
-[] 2x [General] Integrate The New Territories (8,9/17) (2 normal actions, triggers mechadendrite)
-[] [Faith] An Invitation To Preach (For Material Gain) (Cry for the Future)
-[] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication (Devouring Mechadendrite action)
--[] Write-In:

Well with the info of the Nids not gonna show up for hundreds of years, best to focus back up on dealing with the fanatics and spreading our faith.

[] A Soul Smeared
An exploration fleet of New Dawn has stumbled upon an ocean world in a system between the major Warp Lanes. Normally, it would be flagged foe colonization, however when the fleet drew closer to confirm some strange readings, the entire planet seemingly tried to shoot at the fleet via incredibly primitive weaponry. The problem is that, as the Choir with the fleet confirmed, there is only one soul on the entire planet, not enough to coordinate the attempted attack, even with the use of machinery (which would have been noticed). And that one is smeared across the entire planet. Someone should investigate that.
(Gain: ???)
This is the new thing in diplo section.

Anyone has ideas what in the Warp is going on?

Even if the monument is not in red it's still a high priority imo. We have time until the Tyranids arrive. We don't need to slam out the integration right the hell now.

How would the families of *billions* of martyrs in the war against the Cults feel if the promised memorial for their loved ones are delayed not just 10 years but 20 or more? How many of them would have passed away into the embrace of the Star Child before they see the monument come to fruition?

Personal preference would be…

[] Plan: Sing For the Moment
-[] Real Action 1: Sing Melodies (Get six of the ones we haven't gotten yet) (generates .25 Cry)
-[] Class is in Session Action 1: Sing Melodies (Get the remaining melodies and max out a few more) (Generates .25 Cry)
-[] Class is in Session Action 1.5: Stick it in the Song Autoticker if possible, get something either espionage related or something interesting
-[] Real Action 2: Do my espionage write-in (Generates 0.5 Mechandrite, .25 Cry)
-[] 0.5 Cry + 0.5 Mechandrite: Either A World Smeared or Military Aid to the Coalition or my Integration Write-In (Copium)
-[] 0.25 Cry (Rounded Up): Monuments

I want to clear out monuments, personally, and I really really really want to grab all our melodies. Revenant looks super duper juicy. I'm happy we're agreed on Jojo stomping on the Diaconate with knives in the dark. Shame my Integration write-in will probably have to be shelved for awhile, but Smeared looks like something we want to hop on sooner rather than later. I'm cool with delaying Military Aid although we probably want to do that if we want to actually prosetylize to the Diaconate, looking at the text of the Cults in the Diaconate etc.

Edit: You could also replace the Psykana stuff with getting Sigils. It would hurt to not get all the melodies for another turn but I really want that cleared out as well lmao

Err. I don't know if this is valid. I think things are more discrete units and we can't cobble together actions from multiple different bonuses like this.

Actually - yeah, we can't. Because Cry actions don't count themselves, but here you're making it kind of count itself by making the action half mechadendrite.

Doing the two faith actions together is really awkward, we kind of have to choose one to do this turn. We could do the smeared planet soul thing as a general action though, but I'd kind of prefer to actually get cracking on the integration. The coalition can hold one turn. We gave them 3 actions of shit earlier, after all. So, updated plan:

[] Plan: Faith, Steel Subversion and gunpowder Integration
-[-] [General] Integrate The New Territories (7/17)
-[] [Free] [AUTOMATIC] System Subversion
--[] Once the subversion of Orbital habitat Jak-Hal is complete, switch target to sub-sector Ishanu.
-[] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand (Ambrosius)
-[] 2x [General] Integrate The New Territories (8,9/17) (2 normal actions, triggers mechadendrite)
-[] [Faith] Monuments For The Fallen (Cry for the Future)
-[] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication (Devouring Mechadendrite action)

nids are a defensive war foe, so I'd be for any plan that hardens our worlds with fortifications and orbital defenses.

We already know a viable method is robot armies, but that also only worked because said planets didn't have any/much other life, so I have doubts that'd work for us.

That and I doubt consecrated sectors will bother the nids much, and I'm pretty sure said consecrations have been our only nod towards defenses for a while now.
