Right. Well. Uh Yeah, a somewhat Unfortunate Oversight. Ok, new plan below.

Here's my tentative strike force list:

-2x Hercules-Class Battleships
-2x Virgo-Class Fleet Carriers
-1x Tears of the Void Battlebarge
-16x Phoenix-Class Arc Cruisers
-17x Lepus-Class Grand Cruisers
-5x Aquarius-Class Fleet Tenders/Pathfinders
-4x Thunderous Gunnery class Heavy Cruisers
The Last Word (exterminatus temple-ship)
The Pantagruel (Divine Drop temple-ship)
The Divine Spark (Anti-chaos buffs)
-5x Pegasus Lance Cruiser

This gives enough room for 28 companies of Lamenters (Tears of the Void + the 4 Thunderous Gunnery heavy cruisers).

Though I'm not sure about using the Lepus- the Nurgle cult loves using AOE miasma that decays stuff and eats away at ships and presumably physical projectiles like missiles, hence why the Duchy wanted lance ships for the designs.

I'm thinking we should increase the number of Arc Cruisers instead.
I'd prefer to add the Eternal Cry-Class Temple Ship instead of the Thunderous Gunnery heavy cruisers. Just as many Companies of Space Marine Goodness, heavier ship package that's better against Chaos (b/c Temple Ship). I also don't want to take more of their ships because this is already taking about 2/3 of the chapter, and if we take more hen we risk them all dying out... again. Inevitably they'll take the brunt of the casualties here, so I'd prefer to take less than their full strength along for this suicide-run.

Anyway, here's my list:
[] Plan: Heavy Tonnage for a Heavy Mission
-[] 2x Hercules-Class Battleships
-[] 2x Virgo-Class Fleet Carriers
-[] 1x Tears of the Void Battlebarge (20 companies of Lamenters)
-[] 1x Eternal Cry-Class Temple Ship (8 Companies of Lamenters)
-[] 1x The Last Word (exterminatus temple-ship)
-[] 1x The Pantagruel (Divine Drop temple-ship)
-[] 1x The Divine Spark (Anti-chaos buffs)
-[] 16x Phoenix-Class Arc Cruisers
-[] 17x Lepus-Class Grand Cruisers
-[] 5x Aquarius-Class Fleet Tenders/Pathfinders
-[] 3x Cancer-Class Assault Cruisers
-[] 5x Pegasus Long-range Lance Cruiser

5 Battleships, 4 temple ships, 38 grand cruisers, 8 heavy cruisers. 55 ships total. I don't really expect the Lepus or the Cancer's to come back, but their job is really to be the frontline while our other ships kill shit. It's honestly likely we lose one of the Hercs, but I'm hoping the Battlebarge comes back.

Also - I just remembered we have the Hydrus rad-cruiser, but that's probably a little small for this. @HeroCooky is rad-stuff extremely effective against Nurglenid ships? We should know this based on the performance of LRADs.

Anyway, alternate plan for longer-range. Stripping out the Lepus & the Cancers & replacing them with Phoenix & Pegasus respectively, giving us very good long-ranged firebase to complement the Aeldari strategies.

[] Plan: Heavy Tonnage for a Heavy Mission, Long-Range version
-[] 2x Hercules-Class Battleships
-[] 2x Virgo-Class Fleet Carriers
-[] 1x Tears of the Void Battlebarge (20 companies of Lamenters)
-[] 1x Eternal Cry-Class Temple Ship (8 Companies of Lamenters)
-[] 1x The Last Word (exterminatus temple-ship)
-[] 1x The Pantagruel (Divine Drop temple-ship)
-[] 1x The Divine Spark (Anti-chaos buffs)
-[] 33x Phoenix-Class Arc Cruisers
-[] 5x Aquarius-Class Fleet Tenders/Pathfinders
-[] 8x Pegasus Long-range Lance Cruiser

We should really think about making a bunch more temple ships. They're force multipliers. We've got the force, let's multiply it.

Should we really send the Pantagruel in this? It's hilariously vulnerable....

We need something to stop Nurgle from just "lolnoping" our efforts, Drop of Divinity is the only thing we've got that can contest a God just lolnoping our efforts. Nurgle in particular is extremely aggressive when it comes to defending his turf, where he'll just pay the entire expense of "Suddenly your planet becomes a Daemonworld for no reason" because they discovered a Panacea STC Schematic out of pocket.

Though as I've said a few times, the "Great Game" is bullshit, since it doesn't matter what Ls any given Chaos God takes, the other Chaos Gods will always ease up on them until they're back up to full strength again. They are functionally a single faction that pretends to be four that are at odds, and the only thing they all have in common is that they want to wreck everything that doesn't buy in to the "Lol nothing matters so fuck you all get mine" dogma they champion.

Did she think that the Federation's Celestial Choir was the only redeeming feature of her people and the only reason they held despite all the evidence for the bravery and heroism of her people?

It says something that even the most arrogant and racist of Aeldari have to concede that the Choirs are impressive. We may only have one thing that's on par with the Elder Races… but that's more than a lot of other polity.

Placeholder vote.

@HeroCooky how effective are missiles against the Nurgle cult? Does the area of effect fields of decay/damage that the Nurgle cult can utilize limit the effect of missile armaments or do the missiles move too quickly for the effect to decay them into uselessness?

@HeroCooky

Can we refit the ships before we send them. Strip out some stuff like luxury quarters and replace it with more weapons and all. Sounds like massive firepower will be needed here rather than comfort. Especially since it's supposed to be short.

@Neablis it seems like lance ships or plasma macro brawlers all the way for fighting against the Nurgle cult. Missiles are not very effective and rad lances are outright counterproductive.

That just suggests that the long-range plan is the best one.

There aren't any rad-lances here, the main armament is 132x range-buffed Green Arc Cannons & 66 green arc lances (on the Phoenix's), 10x Ultra-Heavy Rotary Plasma Macrocannons (on the Hercules), 8x Tetratek ARc-Carronade, 32x Super-Large Lance Turrets (on the Pegasai), then like a few hundred light lances, light macrocannons and about 2000 voidcraft from the Virgo's. And 1 holy lance powerful enough to blow up a planet on The Last Word.

Honestly most of our firepower here is necron weapons. Which... should be good against the tyranids/nurgle shit.

360.M43 - A Warp Storm
To those capable of seeing and feeling the Warp, hearing its Songs and Chants, tasting its fury and fire, and knowing the depths beyond depths that dwelled beyond the reach of even the Four themselves, it was like a wave of fetid humid air wafting across their every sense, leaving behind a feeling of unending outrage, maggot-infested slime, grandfatherly disappointment, and rotting intestines slathered over nails feasted upon by fungus.

Planet after planet, system after system, Sub-Sector after Sub-Sector, had it's Choirs and Hymnals and hopefuls fall silent as they were assaulted by this wave, rallying their might and training to withstand the powers infested in the Warp whose ripples were crashing upon their mental shores...before they went to work trying to decipher what had happened.

They didn't have to search for long, for where a Sub-Sector once was...where a system with a Daemonworld once stood...

A Warp Storm now resided.

One of Rot and Life.
Of Pestilence and Resilience.
Of Decay and Acceptance.

The world of Festerspire was no more, alongside the system and Sub-Sector it had been within, all connections in the Warp severed to its systems, and all souls within likely, and hopefully, destroyed the moment the Warp Storm descended unto its new home.

Admiral Schaefa Hansenforn had words with Princess El'aliar, an exchange that was, for the sake of maintaining diplomatic relations, redacted from all records but ended with Admiral Schaefa accepting the explanation of Princess El'aliar with grinding teeth and spiked blood pressure; that the Task Force sent to destroy Festerspire had not been obliterated.

"Merely" lost in the Warp for a few years.

Merely lost in the Warp.

Merely.

Lost.

She had said it like one would discuss displacing some rarely-used keys or a toy of minor interest.

Once again, the planetoid-sized ship saved the Eldar from being asked several pointed questions at fleet point by Admirals with minds on their fleets' triggers and crews ready for combat.

It was then, perhaps, for the best that said ship with its attendant fleet began to journey toward the Symphony frontlines, intending to destroy as many of their ships as possible, citing that "the dance with the Maggots has come to an end. But the duet with the Fallen Jester is only beginning."

Why the Princess wore a jester's outfit in the farewell communication while saying the above is anyone's guess.

-[] Sigils (0/2)
Carved into reality itself, born from song and melody, humm and symphony.
(Gain: Sigils.)
-[] Hexagrammic Grammophone (0/5)
An...idea, a mad one, created by some of the Msk'fa who were powerful enough to join the Celestial Choir, and who had the fortune to be well-versed in their people's history. The Hexagrammic Grammophone has one job, and it is projected to be able to achieve it: Sing on its own with pre-recorded Melodies. That ability...it is to vast to speculate about.
-[] Anti-Psychic Materials (0/7)
There are some materials that, for one reason or another, seem to repell psychic phenomena and works, which, in the right hands, could prove to be a boon in our anti-daemon efforts.
(Gain: Anti-Psychic Materials collected and understood.)
-[] Psykana-Repelling Persons (0/4)
Though they are rare, some people seem to not merely be uncomfortable to be around but possess an...anti-soul if one would say something so base. Yet, while normal people find them unpleasant, our Hymnals would rather run away or self-harm themselves than be in their presence. This...could be useful.
(Gain: Anti-Souls?)
-[] Arcanum Psyker Staves (0/9)
The ability to create psychic focii is no longer a mere beginner's art within the Glimmering Federation, and with knowledge and familiarity comes the ability to strive further than yesterday. With The Sun Melody having become a measuring stick upon which one can see progress, it is estimated that further refinement will be capable of reducing the damages incurred into "mere" full-body second-degree burns.
(Gain: Improves Choir efficiency and might when using Songs and Melodies.)
-[] Arcanum Psychic Hoods (0/9)
Thanks to the work done in figuring out how to psychically tune and shape cloth and metals to weave together into one whole, a "Psychic Hood" for the layperson, the Celestial Choir is eager to not only begin large-scale dissemination of knowledge and practice but also delve deeper into their understanding of how they function and can be improved.
(Gain: Improved Psychic Hoods are equipment that shields your Psykers from backlash to varying degrees.)
-[] Choir's Tangle (0/6)
The Choir's Tangle is a system of Psykana married with Technology capable of providing minor guidance to the Federation's Choirs singing Bound To The Stars, thus speeding up their traveling speed.
(Gain: Improved speed between Federation Systems. It requires a choir to operate and will automatically apply the necessary numbers.)
-[] Discordant Shriek (0/11)
Utilizing the same underlying principles as the Choir's Tangle, the Discordant Shriek is a series of five installations that will be put in a perfect orbit around the local star in predetermined patterns, each housing one part of a Choir, that will, when enemy ships approach the system, activate and try to disrupt and rip the approaching vessels out of the Warp at best and seek to damage and delay them at worst.
(Gain: A means to inflict damage to approaching Fleets. It requires a choir to operate and will automatically apply the necessary numbers.)
-[] Applied Anti-Warp Corruption Sigils - (0/15)
Anti-Warp Sigils of potent etching, carved into the leather born from the willing, carved by hands that shiver in cold and burning pain, wrought into reality itself with the blood of ichor dripping from violated souls carrying out their creation. Shield these places, guard these items, know no rest and adhere to no master beyond this: hark against Thought and Cancer from the Deep Beneath Growth.
-[] Aethyrmetric - Null Thoughts (0/59)
It is one thing to debate with reality to alter a state. Another to order it to cease reality in totality.

A Grand Army requires you to specify each SAG as either Light, Medium, or Heavy, with the further moniker of Infantry/Mechanized/Tanks/Augmetic Legions Formations attached. All other specializations will be taken care of within the Grand Army itself. A Knight Order contains 20 War-Packs, one War-Pack consisting of One Questoris per Four Armigers, of variable Patterns.

From what we can tell, thanks to our history, what information we, the Kil'drabi, Yeeni, and the archives of our planets tell us, the difference between a prosperous interstellar polity and one naught but ash is the strength of their navy. At the moment, we have the beginning of a proud Void Fleet, yet purely defending against our enemies is a great way to get ground down into dust over time; we need to be able to bring the fight to them.
(Information: Ship Classes requiring more DP than you possess take more than one Action to design.
Gain: Newly designed and built Ship Class/es.)

There is war to be had and battle to be made. Send troops to resolve issues, squash opposition to the Star Child and Humanity and all Their Protectorates, and send ships to scout neighboring systems to understand what is happening there.
(Gain: Military dispatched to put down opposition violently. Scouts are sent to look at other systems.
Scouting Range: ~20 Systems from Claimed Systems. Scouting Efficiency: N/A (75% Three+ Systems, 50% Eight+ Systems, 30% Fifteen+ Systems.)

[] [Psykana] Conduct Six Melodies (0.8/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The Celestial Choir has been given the means; with time, they shall conduct their songs. They will listen to the Warp and filter out the false whispers from the slumbering guidance of the Star Child. In halting prayer and stumbling humming, the truth will be stripped until nothing but it remains in the hands of those who shall make it anew into power to be wielded by the Choirs to come. As there are 10 Celestial Choirs free to pursue research, the High Council can ask them to pursue a target instead of what comes close. This will, naturally, be lost once they dip below 10 Choirs.
(Total: 23
Uncovered: Revenant and Prophecy III.
Secret: Slumber.
Star Child: Mercy III, Ruthlessness III, Brutality II, and Love II.
Kil'drabi: Paths III, Community II, and Family II.
Irrita: Growth II, Plants, Harmony II, and Hunger.
Msk'fa: Comfort, Revenge, and Retribution.
Dirut: Peace, Clockwork, Candle, Time II, Sunset II, and Dawn II.
Gain: Six Melodies newly Conducted.)

[] [Psykana] Sing two Songs (Choose at least Three below.) - (0.8/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Song]
Mere Melodies are not the end of the journey, nor should they be the start. They are the middle, from which all things shall grow and wither.
(Uncovered: Technology III and Prophecy II.
Secret: Perception III, Silence III, and Grounding III.
Star Child: Protection III, Fire III, The Sun V, Humanity III, Creativity III, Song III, The Home III, Logic III, Unity III, Progress III, Compassion III, Hope III, Health III, Death III, Justice III, Wisdom III, Innovation III, Machinery III, Ruthlessness II, Brutality I, Mercy II, The Star, and Love I.
Kil'drabi: Void III, Struggle III, Paths III, Community I, and Family I.
Irrita: Growth I and Harmony I.
Dirut: Time I, Sunset I, and Dawn I.
Gain: Two Songs.)

[] [Psykana] Sing a Symphony (Choose Five Songs)
Words beyond meaning, songs beyond uttering, a hum of power that is the Warp reveling in its own power unleashed. A Symphony crafted from labor centuries long, and one that shall burn itself into history eternal, both mortal and Immaterial.
(Gain: A Symphony)

[] [Faith] An Unborn Guide Sought Out (Write-In)

[] [Knightly Orders] Plug The Breaches (0/?)
Everyone is as trained as they can be, all new Knights are integrated, and the new Order is rearing to beat back the darkness. Let's do this.
(Gain: Stiffened defense against Chaos attacks and increased Armiger, Knight, and Titan effectiveness.)

[] [Chapter] Brothers For The Barge (2.5/?)
They must be ready for battle and barge.
(Gain: The Lamenters gain 6 Companies per Turn.)

[] [Other] Take Care Of [Future Or Current Problems]
(Write-In the problem being addressed.)

TLDR: Nurgle big angy. Make big stink. Lamenters ain't happy, but they are used to fighting through endless hordes of daemons in the Warp to realspace once more.

So, was the call of the Temple Ships a good one there, since it prevented Nurgle from just undoing the strike? And the best he could do was isolate our fleet for a while because we protected it too well for him to just pull bullshit out to steal our fleet or just destroy it outright afterwards?
