What should your focus for the rest of the Quest be?

Has any thought been given to working towards a temporary sector-wide alliance, essentially putting together a Crusade to deal with the corrupted polities rather than trying to personally expand and deal with them?

Hold up, somehow, selling them costs us more than keeping them? Or is this more "Not selling them means you take this hit?"

And yeah, DO NOT ENTER just straight up being "Do you think they're kidding? DO NOT ENTER, EVER

Looks like we're on the cusp of finishing the Necron set though! Nice! Is that "Two actions before any bonuses kick in" @HeroCooky , or is that "Two actions even with bonuses, but it'll include the Capstone?"

On the plus side, Fourth Generation Strike Craft are on the table with one of those projects!
As I understand it, selling immediately upgrades them to our standard, while not selling leaves them unupgraded.

I think Herocooky got spooked by the mention of me editing the vote away from the [Do Not Enter] system.
No, I lost 2 Hours of progress writing this up, so someone changing shit now would have made me throw this Quest in the bin for at least a week.
I'm looking through the maps trying to get an idea of how local space looks like now, but it's hard since there is a lot of smaller maps. Remember that there was a big map with far off threats that was posted at some point, but can't find it anywhere. Anyone have it?
It's under "Galactic Location."
Hmm, actually, glancing at the Psytech last time we did Grand Design, does Grand Design not apply to Psytech? It should, since it's folded under Research, I think? Or is it all under the hood kind of stuff, or is what we got already the best we can do?
Under the hood stuff. There is only so much stuff in Psytech that can be changed via Psychic-Fuckery before it starts fucking you back.

Placebo is a wild name for No Maladies, but might be surprisingly critical if we end up bordering the Nurglites, I feel. Rough for a 100 Choir requirement though for even a Level 2 song.

Promethean Gaze feels scary as fuck though lmao what the fuck does that even mean. Is this Voidship Grade? Titan Grade? Army Grade?
My quester in the Star Child, that is a Sub-Sector you are hitting with a "Fuck Nurgle" Song. What are you complaining about?

And you ever seen a video/game where a wizard dances the Ay Macarena before hipthrusting a Greater Beam of Cucking from the heavens unto a High-Rise sized Demon obliterating it? That.

Oh shit, Wetware allowing them to have animal-like intelligence is actually crazy good — IRL humans done crazy work with dogs and such before.
Keep in mind it is more like...dumb dog than raven levels of intelligence.
I think I would legitimately punch a wall of that happens.

I mean, I wouldn't, but that's because my parents bought a very lovely house that I'm currently in watching their dogs while they're off for the next month or two, but its the principle of the matter, you know?
American spotted. :V
Hmm. We know that van Zandt scouting kind of sucks.
To be fair, there was a massive "Chaos" Conspiracy to keep you hidden. But even they would notice the multi-Sub-Sector Nurgle Cult at their doorsteps.

Fixed.
It is "This shit costs you two Actions to finish next Turn. Do you want to guess when the Necron Phaeron knocks on your door?"
I think here goes: one.
Thanks, and fixed.
StarChild it's great and all that you are telling us not to Enter but what the fuck is going on there. What happened?
"What is so hard to understand? DO NOT HECKING ENTER! It is right in the name! DO. NOT. ENTER!"

Give the Magi the two actions they need, the Black Cats the one that they want and then have the Subversion department try and do their thing on the Clans. They don't want development and no one seems to be able to conquer them so spy shit it is.

Right, so, we spend two full actions, but we finish the Necron tree in the nick of time by committing now, is t hat about right @HeroCooky ?

And our final choice is basically deciding "Which of these sectors gets completely automated for the rest of the game?" I guess? Military Construction, Diplomacy, Psykana, or Research?

Is what I am thinking, the last one is something I think needs to be talked about more.

*Shrug*
No. It is which sector gets a big efficency boost for your Actions for a while.

I mean, if you exclude the polities we're planning on integrating/joining together with in the near future, it's pretty much just Mashan and van Zandt, and those two are facing Chaos threats from opposite sides of the sector. And besides, van Zandt is going to hate the Mashan for being alien-led even if they've gotten used to the idea of us integrating xenos into our government.

I think we are going to have to go with the navy. We are mere few turns away from general war against Chaos cults breaking out across the known sector. All the sane(r) powers in the sector are about to collide with the Chaos blobs.

Hmm, in that case, maybe we could act as mediators/guarantors to help them feel safer about commiting more strongly against Chaos instead of of each other? Astrogeography permitting, of course.

Fair enough, makes sense, thank you!

Because of the title being called Placebo jumpscaring me a bit lmao, and also big choir numbers are scary! But yeah, I guess "slows warp-based pathogens" was a lot more intensive in scope than I imagined, and I was just mentally calculating what we'd need to cover the entire federation with it.

Which, of course, isn't what the song is meant for -- nation-wide anti-nurgle is supposed to be our anti-chaos song trait and our med infra -- this is better for our crusade fleet / border world. Thanks for clearing that up!

>high-rised sized demon

A High Rise in America is generally at least 75 ft / 23~ or so meters.

Do we... finally have the start of a Greater Daemon counter that doesn't require massive amounts of force or Titans?

Hahahaha, holy shit.

It is "This shit costs you two Actions to finish next Turn. Do you want to guess when the Necron Phaeron knocks on your door?"
In the nick of fucking time, holy shit.

Voidships are ponderous things, gravity tugging at them as sure as velocity does. However, when you can direct one even slightly...
Uh, what does this mean exactly? Is this just an overall increase in Voidship speed / maneuvarability?

If that's the case, I think I'd drop missiles -- they're great, but for the Virgo-class we'd want our fundamentals as best as possible, and if it's a carrier ofc we want 4th gen strikecraft

Since I think we're getting them all if we commit 2 actions, I think.

Anyways, 1 action for Black Cat is fine. It pretty cleanly wraps up together, I suppose, and yeah, we sorta need that Military Boost lmfao.

As for Clans, uh best not to faafo too much I think?

Like, if they don't like being out in the Void, maybe we can just construct fortifications in their system? Otherwise sure yeah just leave subversion and stuff there, and just let that cook. Not an enormous focus I feel.

Yet, the Star-Mechanicum has the most cost-effective and swaying proposal. They have identified several worlds outside the gravitational bounds of stars that would be perfect sites for research of esoteric and wide-ranging projects that will require massive amounts of materials that the Planetmaw can readily supply, thus fully taking their efforts off the budget of the Federation. The Council merely needs to agree to their agenda.
is this free (in agenda making as they take of themselves), or does this mean lending the planet maw to the star mechanism and upgrading our Dev will cost an extra AP for each, making the cost 3 AP per a level in Dev until the star mechanicum gives it back (plus only picking the mechanicum agenda)?

The placebo effect is the power of faith to heal one's body, so it's fitting.
Just spooked me a bit, because it's also the term for a treatment with no active ingredient, so I was like "haa...?" but yeah it's still a Song, lmao

In any case -- I'm very excited to see what a N'nomitron Squadron in 4th-gen Strikecraft can do with Wetware Sibling Void Automata in tow. That being said, where is that? I didn't see them in Voidcraft, so are we just waiting for the research to go through before Cooky slaps them in?

I think they're one of the components of 4th Generation Strike Craft, having basically a wing of dumb pigeons that go "MINE MINE MINE" on command.

[][Agendas] The Star-Mechanicum

One of these two I think.
I frankly disagree.

-[][Agendas] The Star Navy

I think this is best. We are about to enter into a period of massed naval warfare against multiple Chaos cults that are multiple times our size and have massive fleets (as evidenced by them being able to attempt to deep strike 13 Daemon Battleships and attendant fleets into our core territory).

I really don't want to underestimate the sheer amount of fleet building and fighting we'll have to do. We need to make the military a priority, *Especially when the upcoming turn will be eaten by even more Necron tech research (because of the imminent arrival of the Necrons) and the mercenary buyout* instead of designing battleships and updating all our ships with new tech to prep for spamming out a new model navy.

We *just* spent 30+ actions into research! We can lay off the Star Mechanicum and actually build out our damned military so that we can actually withstand a multi front war against the massive Chaos cults!

We go to war with the military we have at the moment, not the military we'll have 10 turns from now. We need to start building our military up ASAP.

I feel like with all our Strikecraft advantages stacked to the upmost a single squadron of fighters and bombers could probably solo an entire old Imperial Fleet.
