I think now is the time!

[] Plan: Doctor, Doctor, Gimme The News!
-[] [Write-In] (General) One of the major problems that had been the cause of on and off again protest movements for generations is the matter of access to Juvenat, with many protesting that the standards of merit are arbitrary and random thanks to not having enough to give it out broadly to all who were meritious regardless of rank. In response to the period of peace and prosperity that the Federation has entered, a campaign promise of a commission was made, and now the time has come to begin the work of expanding access to Juvenat by investing heavily in building more facilities, as well as searching for more efficient and cheaper ways to manufacture and construct Juvenat without losing the quality of the product. Now is the time to strive towards the impossible, and by reaching out, obtain it!
-[] Improved Medical Diagnostics
-[] [General] Develop The Federations'...
--[] Medical Services VI (1/2)

So if we do the military action then we get their ISCs?

Gotcha, so it's currently only useful for the knights and shaving 3 actions off the planet-eater. What did the level 1 version look like?
Their ISCs are basically "Interstellar Mafia Boogaloo 40K Electric" in a nutshells. You don't want an ISC that boosts your slave acquisition.

And it only reduced by 10%.

Yeah, but I wanna see if we can majorly improve the lifespan of our people. Things seem (comparatively) at peace, so honestly that+All-X seems like an interesting direction for now, since those fuckers next door to us are getting over themselves for now.

It's not useful for the planet eater, because that's a general action, and the mechadendrite is better.

The big problem is that the song needs to be sung for the full duration of the action to be wortwhile.

And because it uses so many Psykers, that means we need to commit to entire turns of doing nothing but the big project.

And it only reduced by 10%.

Aim to lvl 3 asap?

Hm. If we had enough Choirs for both the new song and the Mechadendrite one, we could do the Planet-Eater in 6 actions.
(Mind you, we still should do the boosted dev actions before we even consider the Planet-Eater.)

Also worth noting - we have 9 Songs, so we only need one more to unlock Symphonies.

Think about if we increased this Song again, which may be enough for us to get to 50% which would be amazing.

And level III song is 33%?

It's only 2 melodies. If we do Hope, Progress, Family and Community we can sing the song of auto-development, re the post here.

I think previously Herocooky said that would take like 25 actions? Less now that we're bigger, but not that much less. It feels like if we want to go for development then getting our efficiency songs better to do the planet-cracker is the more optimal path, though slower.

I think I'm just very much on the psykana train. I want to get symphonies! (And the 4th action that comes with them)

I honestly think I'd at least like to start it to expand access somewhat, and see what we learn from it, rather than constantly putting it off in the hopes that we'll eventually be able to do it trivially.

Like I don't expect we'll get to 100% anytime soon, but even expanding towards 5% would honestly really help?

I would be on-board with that - but I'd like some hard numbers from the QM first. I was under the impression we're currently at 0.001% and getting to 5% would take a stupid number of actions because of how hard juvenat is.

One action seems a bit meaningless in the face of that. I'd much rather get an approved write-in that our new action-discount song could act on.

I'm a little bit split on the planning, because to one side we've got a bunch of cool new general actions, on the other side we've got a bunch of cleanup we need to do from our recent integrations, and on a third we're so close to getting that 10th song and unlocking symphonies.

Here's some plans I'm having decision paralysis between:
[] Plan: Cleanup and Psykana
-[] [Military] Families Navy and Federation Army Reorganization
-[] [Military] Knights Noble And Righteous
-[] [Psykana] A song from
this list or Hope III, Progress III, Creativity III, Technology III or Hope III, Progress III, Community I, Family I.
-[] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand - Labors, Grace of the Labors.

[] Plan: The Diplomacy shall CONTINUE
-[] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication (2x & one bonus action)
--[] Formal Exchange Of Dipomatic Contacts - The Clans Who Live Here
--[] Formal Exchange Of Dipomatic Contacts - Watchtower Confederacy
--[] Economic Harmonization - (Shipwright's Grove)

-[] [Psykana] A song from
this list or Hope III, Progress III, Creativity III, Technology III or Hope III, Progress III, Community I, Family I.
-[] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand - Labors, Grace of the Labors.

I'm a little split on the psykana action. On one hand Hope, progress, creativity and technology would upgrade both Glint of Genius and Unto Works Generational to III, but Hope, Progress, Community, Family would upgrade Unto Works Generational and let us sing an as-yet unnamed song that would auto-boost development.

Or we could just sing something like Advance Upon Uncertain Paths - Technology, Progress, Creativity, Logic to get to 10 songs and unlock symphonies now, with a progress-focused symphony ready to sing in that looks like this:
A Web Of Song - Interstellar Communication.
A Glint of Genius - Bonus research.
The Devouring Mechadendrite - Bonus Development.
Unto Works Generational - Big action reduction
Advance Upon Uncertain Paths - unsung, ???

Alternatively, we could combine it with an upgrade to the research song.
Hmm. On one hand I like this idea. On the other hand - I do want that auto-dev song. It sounds great. Are we planning to do a lot of research soon?

Around 1~2% if I had to put down a hard number. You increase it via more Heavy Ind and Med Serv, the latter giving you access to a Trait that increases it automatically at XV, or a dedicated 25 Actions Plan to increase it by 1% every century.
25 actions is very rich for my blood, but if we upgrade the Generational song to level III maybe? Or we buff up our songs, get the planetmaw and go to town on our development. That seems like the path I'm arguing for. With the planetmaw & our general action buffs getting to Med X is 3 actions.

-[] Fill Out LRAD Alpha and Task Fleet Alpha (With Andromedas) (0/1)
Random question @HeroCooky - what does this do? I get that it turns our 4 ships LRAD alpha into a full LRAD, but what does it do with task fleet Alpha? It's just a giant pile of Lupus's. Andromedas & ???. 5 andromedas shouldn't cost as much as a whole SBG.

Cleanup and Psykana I think, get Symphonies unlocked.

Also, ey! We almost definitively control 5 sub-sectors now! Three of them are even fairly chonky ones!

Yeah, I'm on board with this. Gotta backfill from our acquisitions. I hope we can lay the groundwork for the bigger knights, since I do hope we get them eventually. And maybe turn the Ashan ISCs into something actually useful? They helped us out before.

Any song opinions? Uncertain paths seems good and is level 2, but there are other options.

How many sub-sectors to a sector?

Turns it into a functional force capable of policing your systems against pirates, since you aren't really going to be using that unless at war. That name should have been fixed from the holdover, my bad.
Seems like this should probably be our next military action. Another LRAD and anti-piracy patrol. Makes sense.

Personally trying to get some kind of divination song even if it's "the WEast side seems like it's getting more RED soon" tier hard to understand nonsense. Gives us a vague idea IC of future threats is all I ask for and it shouldn't be that beyond us. Not sure what would get us something like that beyond perception. Maybe ask Void-chan for help?

If we're doing Melodies...

Slumber I would be the last of the "Secret" Melodies. Love is the only "Star Child" Melody we're missing. "Kil'Drabi" Melodies still need Paths, Community and Family. "Irrita" has four Harmonies we haven't gotten started on.

As for upgrading existing Songs:
Bound To The Stars requires
HumanityProtectionThe SunThe HomeFireProtectionUnityTechnologyProgressCreativityHopeSilenceGroundingPerceptionStruggleLogic
Bound To The Starsxxxxx
A Web Of Songxxxxx
A Glint Of Geniusxxxx
Turn Their Eyes Awayxxx
Break Your Chainsxxxxx
Diverting Powerx
The Devouring Mechadendritexxxxx
Unto Works Generationalxx

So... using an action to upgrade Technology, Progress, Creativity and Hope improves three of our Songs: Glint Of Genius, Devouring Mechadendrite, and Unto Works Generational. The former gives us a little bit more research per action, the second les us spend less Choirs on Mechadendrite, and the third improves Unto Works Generation if we have enough Choirs for it.

EDIT: No, wait, Devouring Mechadendrite also requires Logic. Never mind.

Upgrading Unto Works Generational might lower the Choirs required to a level we can afford to activate along with The Devouring Mechadendrite. If we could activate both of them together, we could build the Planetmaw for only 6 AP.

Unlikely, Cookie has already said that it being level 2 rather than 1 meant a bigger effect, not a smaller Choir requirements like Mechadendrite. I assume the same will happen when it reaches level 3.
