Santa, eh? Makes sense. Who else but a ninja (Or a wizard, but Naruto-ninjas are basically wizards so whatever) could visit every home in the world undetected in a single night?

I see. So Kakashi's secret ninja technique was One Thousand Years of Death while our sensei has this?()

Well we'll only do one mission a year.
Considering the height difference we might get stuck with crafting jobs. Do any Naruto villains have a Krampus form?

What about Grinch?

I was referring to the EARTHSHATTERING deception skill combined with the present motif.

Edit: Olay so what does this chapter mean for the events ahead? Asako is on a team with her crush and we have that guy's ex-bride-to-be (betrothed?). So our teams might be rivals. Our other teammate was a late arrival (transfer student). She's clearly a Sound ninja that's infiltrated the Leaf. Orochimaru's been developing his village for years so it isn't a huge surprise that something like this could happen.

Taking off the tin foil now. I'd like to note that the other transfer student was the one that chose to sit beside us for the rest of the semester. I doubt the village staff needed more notes on Toru's behavior when he has an Anbu keeping tabs on him, but I suppose that guy could be part of Root.

Hm... makes me wonder what kind of team they are. A Nara, a foreigner and a trickster? And a Yamanaka Sensei. The latter suggests something mindfucky, so the foreigner might be specialised on Genjutsu.

IT FITS! Santa is a good assassin. Think about it. Each year for one night he sneaks into all homes and plants "gifts" for children. He clearly specializes in infiltration and assassination. Imagine if those gifts were explosive tags?!

"Your sensei is Yamanaka Santa."

Huh. I wasn't expecting that.

Nice slice-of-life chapter, good worldbuilding. Bit long-winded on the team announcements, but manageably so.

I'm a bit confused by the last line. Do we know this person? If not, what's surprising about it? (Other than him/her sharing a name with St Nick, if you take liberties with the japanese pronunciation.)

Its the team composition that confuses him.
He's on the same team as a Shadow Puppeteer, a foreigner who I forget what she does and he's a weapons specialist and they're all being taught by a mind reader.

I can see how this team comp could work...
Even if it's just the nara and the Si
He's pretty good at misdirection and distracting right? which is exactly what the Nara need to land their binds.
Now we just need to see what the foreigner's specialty is and it's pretty solid .

Is it something you would have predicted before reading the update?
If not then its really rather forgivable that our glorious OP was caught off guard.

A " future femme fatale" and an "fairly androgynous royal blooded girl" are both good for infiltration and spy-craft.
