The Egg Grapes are even worse.
These are prison meant to slowly drain people of they lifeforce until they die, you literally have to trow a coin in not only surviving but come back with your head intatc. Charmy was a teenager in Pre-SGW and when he was stuck inside one of them he suffer brain damage and reverted to a six years old mentality, this was after his whole family and hive dying inside of Egg Grapes too.
Also the quest is not goign to reward us for being evil.
There's literally achievement called Ruined Something Beautiful and the reward make it clear we will get what's coming for us.

Also is better to Metal not be close to the Zeti when they make the push, I really don't want to test how efficient he is defending itself from Zeti powers and they get one of our Hero Units for the raid. I can even he Zavok trade some of control of his badniks to get Metal on his side.
That's why we should send him to recruit Majima in Turn 4, it would make him stay away from the base at least.

Eggman already has the perfect cage system, he show up in IDW when he trap the Neo Diamond Cutters into a parallel dimension compared to that Egg Grapes is just a bubble of glass and count the people inside being to weak to fight back when they life force is drained.
Or we can just send them back to the Lost Hex wihtout a ship they will be harmeless and would really be humiliating for them thanks tot he whole warrior culture thing. They expect to die and are okay with it, if left alive and free on the Hex from that moment onwards every breath they take will be because of Eggman deny them death.
Can't have a more perfect revenge than that.

She can actually be hacked, in Sonic Prime this exact scenario did happen but she's less dangerous than Metal.
the egg grapes held people far stronger than the deadly 6
but if we aren't roboticizing them I see no reason not to just kill the D6
