Ahhh, best Jojo continues to be adorable. And sexist.

[X]"Of course you can!"

Because, really, who cares what Jotaro thinks? If he's gonna look like a particularly muscular pillar, then he can act like one too.

I mean, with his Stand being a phoenix, if he bothered to burn himself to death he might have rezzed.
You have to die before you rez! Still counts!

And Magican's Red isn't a phoenix. Some kind of demihuman phoenix cross maybe, or a lost Egyptian god, but not pure phoenix. Those are noticeably less musclepillar humanoid.
...really? I... didn't notice or intend for that to happen...
There's this:
you never worried her pretty little head about the details all that much
which could be because she's a lady-type or because she's Holly, to be fair. At least it's not as bad as Jonathan keeping the truth from Erina, because that hardcore bitch is hardly going to be less useful in a zombie fight than Speedwagon.

It's because it's Holly, specifically.

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but, SHE'S KIND OF A DITZ, OKAY?! And she's Joseph's daughter, on top of that.

Also, in her introduction in the manga, Holly acknowledged that "[her] father had strange powers (Ripple)", but that neither she nor her son had ever exhibited such a thing. Thus, I inferred that Joseph never bothered telling Holly very much of the details about his adventurous youth.

To be fair, even if he told her, it sounds like total bullshit, anyway.

"...If you didn't want to actually tell me how you lost your hand, dad, you could have just said that."

Fair point
It's just that he was so casual about it...

Also, when you refer to a woman's pretty little head, it's condescending and a generalization!

Kind of.

Holly seems like the kind of person who would take everything a person says completely at face value, no matter how ridiculous it is.

I acknowledge that the remark in question can be condescending - though it was intended to show endearment/attachment in this case - but I fail to see how it's a generalization.

It's the nature of literally every old person to act a little condescending when dealing with younger people. I'm pretty sure its universal across the vast majority of cultures, kinda goes hand and hand with the whole 'respect your elders' sort of deal.

Edit for vote;
[X]"Hrm... I don't mind. Jotaro, what do you think?"

Maybe, but I like to imagine people hearing the story and coming to the conclusion that Joseph is lying to cover up losing his hand in a freak masturbation accident that also led to him getting hitched.

....No, I have no fucking clue where this came from either,

MOD EDIT: Warning given here.

And now I'm just picturing Avdol being all salty, sitting at a temporary desk at the SPWF, muttering to himself as he does Joseph's paperwork instead of being in Japan because Joseph forgot to buy Avdol a ticket.

"He owns half of New York and 4 private jets, why does he even need to fly commercial..."

Look at the bright side, the fact that the plane didn't crash after his infamous record with planes is a good thing.

*rubs chin*
It's like...
*waves hands*
Uhhh...
Specifically when someone refers to a woman's 'pretty little head' in a condescending way specifically, it's generally because they're making a specific thought regarding a person known about a generalization they believe in. About women.

What I meant to say was, the way Joseph said it, he seemed like one of those people.

Ugggghhh, it's late and I just had an exam a few hours ago. Thoughts not coming together. Is this making sense? I dunno.

Because he doesn't want to have to pay for it when the plane crashes.
