@LucidProp I think its better to bring in MW too it still boost our stats and we need someone for operations roll too, which is part of meeting new dawn.
I assume we can only bring one, so I'll stick to that until we get a clarification from Bitterman.
With Black Swan our statline is:
- HIT: 5 + 9 = 14
- ESPIONAGE: 8 + 1 + 3 = 12
- OPERATIONS: 5 + 1 + 4 = 10
With Menagerie Witch, our statline is:
- HIT: 5 + 3 = 8
- ESPIONAGE: 8 + 1 + 6 = 15
- OPERATIONS: 5 + 1 + 7 = 13
The +1 to ESP and OP are from the Global Bonus we got just this turn. Dunno if there are more, but I can't recall any at least.
Looking at this spread, I do think Black Swan is better for this negotiation overall. Our main problem with the conciliatory approach isn't that we don't know things (OPERATION), but rather that we have to convince Wolong that we're being genuine (REPUTATION).
In Wolong's eyes, us trying to meet him as an equal is a bluff to keep Justice Unlimited independent when in truth, it's us showing him respect and courtesy in spite of the fact that he needs us more than we need him.
With Black Swan, we have 3 of the relevant stats at 10 or above, with the most important one (REP) being our highest at 15. With menagerie Witch meanwhile, our REP is below 10 at 8.
Considering the mission's requirements are the following "
The Dragon of the New Dawn (AP 2, ESPIONAGE 4, REPUTATION 5, OPERATIONS 3)", we can roughly guess that REP will be the hardest roll, with ESP at 2nd, and OP at 3rd. This goes double for a conciliatory approach.
That, and narratively, I really think Black Swan as the face of Justice Unlimited's new generation, should always be around for these big decisions. Not only to help serve as Lady Leizi's moral compass whenever she doubts herself, but to also train her for future responsibilities as leader.
