We don't automatically get new slots if we get OID back, we get some money and a Personal Action we have to do on the next turn to get Dr. Ibis's base.
Also recruitng them probably needs us to take down DF and the first meeting is mainly negotiating with Spark. Plus since they mission is finale of T4 nit really gonna help in the mission that turn
We don't automatically get new slots if we get OID back, we get some money and a Personal Action we have to do on the next turn to get Dr. Ibis's base.
Considering that Sparksurfer wants to get out ASAP I think they might join us fairly soon.
It will again, depend on what we get in the next few Personal actions/ we choose the 2 income missions next turn. We can risk pulling a Doctor Silver and do income actions without the appropriate funds if we think we can get the cash before they occur. As for the goldnine sample I really hope the R Train mission goes well since Ellies girls need goldnine soon... although now that I think about it we need to take the part of the Magical girl mission at the same time as Reality Check so I wonder how will that particular dangling sword will go...
We don't automatically get new slots if we get OID back, we get some money and a Personal Action we have to do on the next turn to get Dr. Ibis's base.
Right, I think I vaguely remember about this now. Well, opening up slots this coming turn still has its worth if we want to bring in Song or Soraia right away.
Apropos of nothing, I just wanted to observe one thing I've really enjoyed with this story: It zig-zags between "Doing Good Feels Good", "Do Well By Doing Good" and "Being Good Sucks" in such a way that the choice to Be More feels like it's got weight and is grounded. This isn't a morality tale where the bad guys always fail because of badness and the heroes succeed because of goodness, nor a cynical retread where evil wins because selfishness is promoted by survival of the fittest, but somewhere in the middle. Being More has costs, but it's also had benefits.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised: the borderline-painful integrity with which the rolls have been handled has been a meta example of this "doing right because it is right not because it is always convenient or gets me what I want all the time" thing. It's just nice to see a story that doesn't stray towards any of those three extremes I mentioned.
QM since Yara doesnt need a Prometheus Action to get her full powers does that mean If we have the Hero Slots and Ambrosia for it We can get 4 new members next turn?
Right, I think I vaguely remember about this now. Well, opening up slots this coming turn still has its worth if we want to bring in Song or Soraia right away.
I'm wondering why the Lethal Anodyne mission has so steep requirements, since it seems Lady Leizi could just waltz in, get close to a besotted LA, and taze him.
There will likely be complications, I think.

There will likely be complications, I think.
Well, that's not to mention that the whole goal of this operation is to sabotage Monarch's regime. Considering Lethal Anondyne's one of her supporters, he likely has minders from her as well.
Hopefully I didn't calculate or format this wrong, this is a semi-serious build (I'm sure it can be better optimised for keyword number and variety, if nothing else) and I hope it doesn't get veto'd.
Does this sort of synergy fishing work? Either way, would like to see how Bitterman would expand this into something suitable for a P13.
[X] Plan: Oh God, Who's in Charge Now?
-[X] Lady Leizi
-[X] Châtelet
Perfectly in line with what we knew of HA. Consequences I can see are Ellie becoming more uncompromising in dealing with villains and advocating for pre-emptive action against our enemies or our presumed enemies and all in an effort to ensure that all those she loves will not be harmed.
Ellie shall seek to take on the workload and fighting herself over allowing for the others to possibly be harmed when she could have prevented that (in her opinion)
Possibly becoming more cautious/paranoid of what lies our there just waiting for the opportune moment to strike. All the fucking lies, secrets and conspiracies would serve as the perfect justifications.
So every time we create a build with over P20, Ellie will be getting a +3 to the roll about internalizing the Traits from the Heroes she calls upon.
At least since we have a cap of 3 Heroes there is no chance of Ellie having to roll say seven different times for seven different traits from seven different Heroes.
Your duty is to peace. Do what you must to preserve the most lives you can, even if it involves eating your own heart.
DC 15.
Stat Check: REPUTATION 7. In life, Jusiticar had REPUTATION 10.
You rolled: 9.
9 + 1 + 3 (Potency over 20) = 13. F̷̰͔̿a̴̪̝͒i̵͇̲͌́̚l̴̨̬͐̅u̵͜͠r̶̢̠̊ę̵͈̀!̴̙͗̈́́
Ohooooooooooooooooooo!
Solve what Valkyrie? Could it be "Temporary Apotheosis"?
Wonder if Valiant Red was researching something similar but failed to figure it out.
I am pretty sure this is only possible because of Iustitia's direct link to the Stage that she is twisting RH's power to pump herself up.
Wonder if she will hit a limit?
You destroy them with a thought. You phase their hearts out of reality, move them away with a push of their inertia, and then let their organs come back to this dimension.
Now I really want to see what tags make this Synergy.
How many tags did she spontaneously produce to go from [Clairvoyance] to [Space-Time Manipulation]?
Also P48? So a +13 Boost.
The Red Huntress' powers were never meant to be used like this, but you bend them to your will. It strains and fights and threatens to tear your arm from its socket.
Confirmation that RH is not meant to be capable of pulling this shit off. Seriously.
If she could do that then we would only ever be using her for our builds so it makes sense mechanically that it takes a God to effectively rewrite the parameters to make it crazy broken.
Red Iustitia, Blind Judge of Heaven gains the power of [Transmutation]. [Biokinesis] + [Fundamental Force Manipulation] + [Space-Time Manipulation] + [Phasewalking] + [Transmutation] = [Reality Warping]
Name: Red Iustitia, Blind Judge of Heaven, Noelle "Ellie" Han Power:Reality Warping, True Telepathy Faction: Justice Unlimited Potency: 60
Ok. Potency Boost of +12
Reality Warping Mega Synergy Revealed!
This time Iustitia didn't even use a lesser tag as base and just outright formed [Transmutation] out of nothing.
"Umm . . ." Nora Kim says, from an island behind The Stage, her eyes wide, "Uhhh . . . fuck."
Valkyrie says nothing, her eyes cold. This was inevitable. Yet, she also feels disappointment. Perhaps she hoped to see someone succeed where she failed.
"Okay, okay, umm . . . This looks bad, but . . . Ellie should be able to . . . umm . . . motherfuckerpisscockassfuckballs."
Yeah. Not surprised that Apotheosis went a tiny bit sideways here. What were you actually expecting Nora?
Also, did Valkyrie tried to do that shit before? Please don't tell me that the Susurration was caused by say Valkyrie ending up in a psychic duel with Hand and in order to try and win she tried to drink from the Stage?
"I cannot submit myself to your benediction, o' Arbiter," Belle Sabreuse confesses, "There are things in my past that I must yet run from. I . . . I have not the strength to face them."
A man reeking of lightning and cheap cigarettes. He too rejects your Benediction. If he were to ever look at himself, he would have to face what he is.
The twin seeing through eyes not her own insists that she was merely following orders. Karna too was loyal to Duryodhana without fault. And he too, suffered the pain of his wounds. She receives nothing.
The second twin is regretful, asking what purpose this all serves? Nothing has been right since the death of J̶̳́ū̶̪̤̇s̵̻̦̄t̶̘̋i̴̗̅͊c̵͉͓̏̑i̷̧̦̇̒ä̵̬̣́̏r̵̗͕̒ his leader. He is aimless, searching for something to believe in. It might be that he will find it.
The next man is a golden idiot. He walks, heedless of his own ignorance. But only fools have the daring to fall in love. The number zero is empty, but also infinite.
"E-excuse me? Umm, Valiant Gold?" a nervous voice calls from the gallery, "Uh, isn't she entitled to a lawyer if she can't afford one . . . or something?"
You take the power and devour it. You will control it. It will not control you. You're heart belongs to you and whoever you one day choose to share it with—
Good for Ellie. Only problem imo is that I am tired of BS stealing the spotlight from VG once again as if it is impossible for Ellie to do anything without BlackGold overtaking the narrative.
I think this is the right time to say that I am starting to get tired of BlackGold or more specifically Mona herself whenever anything involving Ellie comes up.
I still like her by herself or when interacting with everyone else but honestly I am now a fan of JustGold solely because I feel something between exhaustion and disgust whenever I read about her thinking, seeing or interacting with poor Ellie who is stuck with that abuser.
My problem is that reading or watching character interactions I always instinctively try to see things from the perspective of said characters and while Mona the "Turbo-Flumber" may have seemed somewhat amusing at first from a reader's perspective (before it kept coming up too many times for its own good), the moment I try to look at it as if I was Ellie and dealing with such a situation I can't help but be saddened that for some reason Ellie is unfortunate enough to have developed feeling for someone like Mona who when seen from the other side looks like a fucking monster with the way she treats Ellie.
Okay! Rant Over! Oooof! I have been keeping that inside for too long.
The prize who they sacrificed their Justiciar for! They were so certain one of us would be at the so-called 'Movement' that they sent their weapon to capture one of us. But the only person her Edict captured was a failed Star! And, in the process, she even allowed Behemoths to overrun them!"
Oof.
So we can confirm here Towarri was Star.
Justiciar was explicitly sent out during the Movement not to deal with the Behemoths and Leviathan (if her powers even work on them) but to deal with Towarri. Consideing RSG's power we can assume that she was charged with effectively single-handedly holding a front of the fight by herself. So by disabling her with Justiciar or Shutdown they GJ effectively collapsed the lines and sent everyone scrambling, especially since GJ clearly weren't bothering to fight against the Tide either.
I think what happened is that when Justiciar disabled RSG, Automne abandoned the fight in the skies to save her love only to end up dying in the effort as well.
So we can at bare minimum blame Global Justice for the Capture and Imprisonment of Radiant Silvergirl and the Murder of Automne + who knows how many others may have lived if not for GJ?
The memory ends, but the immense presence of the entity known as "Hand" remains. Socialite Butterfly's memory was a doorway into the past, but doors open both ways. You saw Hand.
And Hand saw you. He followed you back to your Court. He towers opposite you, like twisted reflection.
Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.Shit.
Damn. The Hand is here to fuck us up. And of course save SB.
"What do you think you are doing? Do you think you can save me? Do you wish me to say that it was all Hand's doing? That I only killed in his name? No! I was a monster well before I entered into his service. I took my first life at ten! I feel nothing, no regret at what I've done! Nothing! I'd do it again!"
"If I stay, what will happen to me, I wonder? How will your large friend there find me? How will this 'jury' decide my guilt? What will my sentence be? I may as well tie the noose myself!"
"No one deserves to suffer. No one deserves to be alone. No one deserves to die, even if sometimes there is no better alternative. You must answer for what you've done. You cannot be allowed to ever hurt anyone again. You will not be free. I don't . . . I don't know what exactly will happen to you, but . . . I promise it will be just."
I am pretty sure Hand's presence alone kind of proves why the idea of somehow imprisoning SB and KEEPING HER THERE is kind of delusional.
Hell, there literally is no way to stop her from using her own powers to create Admirers who will get her out like the Scarlet Maturity + Memoria combo she already used.
Unless you decide to pump her full of drugs and keep her permanently asleep while hoping her allies don't bust her out at which point you may as well do everyone a favor and just kill her.
"BUT I DO NOT. I HAVE USE OF MY KEY, EVEN IF SHE MUST BE DESTROYED AND REFORGED. I DO NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR JURISDICTION, GRAVEN IDOL, AND I CLAIM IT FOR MY OWN."
You first must disrupt his connection. Socialite Butterfly is too filled with whatever grants him power over her to nullify it completely, but you can seek to disrupt his claim. Yes, you can change Socialite Butterfly in something he has no ownership of—
We Have A Name!
Well, it is either his Divine Name or his personal Villain Name independent of the Hand of Mysteries.
Trismegistus of the Hand of Mysteries sounds better than The Hand of The Hand of Mysteries.
Good news He knows not where everyone has gone.
Bad news is that Yara + 2 others have disappeared AGAIN and we don't know where they are either.
Oh and SB is with them which is a nightmare.
As Phlogiston leads him away, Sparksurfer thinks about where his screen is. And desperately hopes that today will be the day he hears back from Lady Leizi.
New Info.
LPP is driving Phlogiston mad. And no doubt wants the DFs for his group so that he can use them to empower Ash Knight.
Nothing that changes our future choices as I see it.
1. So White Hawk is named Octavius.
2. SK has his leg back. Nice.
3. WH if we are lucky has been permanently weakened. (Doubt It)
4. Silvio is been scapegoated for the whole fiasco. Also WH is sinking his claws into SK. + Oh I am sure Silvio is so Happy for your Support WH, Everyone appreciates the Friend who feeds them to the Volcano.
5. We meet the Hours. Starting with 7.
6. WH is Third Hour.
7. Seventh Hour seems to be a Precog + Probability Manipulator. Fuck. As if the Philosophers weren't bad enough.
8. We already knew the Horae Guard were gunning for us, now we get the reason.
We now know OOC that the mission to Rescue Moon River will lead us to invading Elysium which means Moon River is on Elysium.
And the odds of succeeding keep rising. Currently at 23%! If we get Yara (and empower her? or is it just the shares) our Chances of Success increase to 31%!
8. So Steelheart is named Rotwang. And he Created Princess making her an Artificial Creation most likely.
9. The Hours believe that we are using Princess to empower our Metahumans with 67% Certainty. So WH was actually being serious before? huh.
10. 12th Hour seems to be in command. With 11th Hour serving as likely the most powerful/deadly. 11th Hour is The Man with a Boyish Smile. Evidently He dealt with Valiant Blue and Yohanna Oliveira the so called Alt-timeline Nora aka Woman-In-Blue and Yazmin?
11. Confirmation of the Ladder as Psychic Siphon.
12. As planned by WH. In order to goad Silvio into making a mistake which would allow WH to usurp him and also so that the Horae Guard would be unwilling to declare Crusade a bust and pull out when JU is now looking towards the Ladder with full knowledge of its true nature.
13. The Hours know VG is an Algernon.
14. Ninth Hour is in a relationship with Seventh Hour.
15. "The odds of total social collapse in the next fifty years is . . . 68.4453%." Evidently it was higher before!!
16. WH New Mission: " Your new mission is to reestablish the credibility of Crusade. You are to leave Justice Unlimited alone for now—they're learning too much from their interactions with us."
17. As far as Hours know Trismegistus/Hand is wounded and Key is DEAD! War Between Hours and Philosophers!!!!
18. Jair is trying to get Yara legally declared dead. Eighth Hour the Penitent Scholar is tasked with locating Yara. Augur who seems associated with the Hours is also likely tracking Yara down.
19. White Hawk, 3rd Hour is tasked to Kill Monarch -> Abduct Princess -> Destroy The Mill, Steelheart's Laboratory.
THE END
That night, black holes tear the Brig apart and destroy everything in Valiant Red, White, and Blue's lab.
Miraculously no prisoner or guard is harmed, and the former inmates all disappear into Horizon-proper.
1. Silvio is going rogue!
2. Of course Joules chooses to remain with Crusade.
3. Silvio has a way to bypass Faust's Contracts through the use of Psychic Dampeners.
4. Ete with a Psychic Dampener joins Silvio.
5. Octavius wants to mass produce PREVAIL. Of course he does.
6. Silvio found Guts and released him. Alt-Guts Joins Silvio's Party! Possible Future PP Candidate Sighted!
7. Radiant Silvergirl Confirmed Alive! Imprisoned In The Brig! She Is Sentient/Aware!
8. So Silvio has access to parts of WiB's power armor and through it some of her memories.
9. Silvio Turns Radiant Silvergirl Against Justice Unlimited! Radiant Silvergirl Joins Silvio's Renegades!
10. Radiant Silvergirl Destroys The Brig!! All Inmates Released!
- Including Luftwaffe
- Including Enforcer
Who wants to bet that anyone locked in the Brig who was innocent before is going to be a villain now after all the fucking mental torture?
At least the only competitor to New Wonderland is gone now.
11. Stockpile Labs are destroyed!
The End x2
Fuck Me. Now it is obvious how the GDT mission and Reality Check ale connected.
To get to Yara + Company we will first need to deal with Yellow Qillin. Shit.
So Baba Yaga and New Wonderland have also gotten trapped within the Frozen Throne. Lovely!
I blame YQ.
Yara has an echo of her powers as well. That's good.
So there is now a "Katie"
Originally I was pretty damn furious about SB escaping justice especially since I had been honestly expecting something like that from the moment Iustitia went on and created a court after all what purpose could the court have but to allow for SB to escape alive which is what happened.
The only reason I was able to disregard my anger at the murderer escaping the death sentence was the idea of gaining control of SB for ourselves. While she may be unable of creating an entire meta army any longer there are sure to be many uses for "Katie" as she is made to repent in eternal service to JU.
.
.
.
Then I had some time to think it over and IF "Katie" is really a different new personality then I am fine with her.
Especially as it serves to prove that SB herself was right. Remaining behind could only result in death or something even worse like say being imprisoned within her own body as a new better version comes in and starts living her own Better life.
And all SB can do is watch Powerless locked within the subconscious.
Now we just need to raise Katie properly AND make sure Trismegistus NEVER realizes that WE have Key with us. Done with the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am curious as to whether Faust will decide to recall his underlings back under the umbrella of Powers since the Philosophers are now at war with the Hours.
With Dominion also pulling out of the project.
If that happens the Hours might be forced to dedicate more troops to support Crusade considering:
Seraph is Dead
Stockpile is a Renegade who blew up the Brig and is now an enemy.
Ete is a Renegade
Plasticity and Perspective are weakened with the loss of veteran troops.
Joules proved less than useless.
SK lost a leg and only miraculously regained it.
WH was creamed. First BS proves capable of overwhelming his Invulnerability and then LL as well.
Brass Shield also proved useless. (To them) And could be recalled by Dominion.
I really doubt Faust is gonna chance allowing for Anansi to remain in easy reach of WH.
Ronin could be recalled back to Powers by Dominion.
Hopefully I didn't calculate or format this wrong, this is a semi-serious build (I'm sure it can be better optimised for keyword number and variety, if nothing else) and I hope it doesn't get veto'd.
From what we've known so far, this is likely getting Battle Precognition and Fundamental Force Manipulation. With how many keywords there are, there might be a few more that we don't know yet. If I were to throw a guess, perhaps Transmutation could be one; with double Transformation and Energy Manipulation, there may be one more among the set you've brought up
With that said, I will be blunt about this though: there's a very decent chance this is getting vetoed in my opinion since Yara's build must have True Telepathy in it as a condition, or a set of keywords that'll lead to that. We don't know for sure yet, but True Telepathy very likely has double Clairvoyance along with Mental Manipulation and another keyword. Moreover, this build is going to lead to a P12 rather than a P13 version. You seem to be aware with your math (which I will acknowledge that you indeed formatted it correctly), but all of us are aiming for P13 with Yara. Just letting you know.
If this is referring to Black Swan then what the fuck.
Occasionally messing up is not abusive, it's human !
And having two lines referring to a relationship, one of them when we are going through all of Ellie's relationships with JU, the other at a climatic moment where Black Swan helps her, is not « constantly referring back to the relationship ! » Do you have any idea how stories are even written !
Also JustGold is not happening for the simple reason I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned Ellie is a lesbian. Mona is the one that's bi.
Wasn't it "any Synergy related to the Stage" or something along those lines?
Fair about the P12 matter, I couldn't quite find a 2 => 3 swap I liked, and didn't want to drop more samples than that to keep keyword diversity. Thanks for helping me double check though!
Do you realise how horribly, incredibly disrespectful to actual victims of abuse it is to compare « I am a fumbler » to actual abuse ?
Like, my parents regularly treat me like crap because they see me as a machine to get good grades and not a person. One of my friends also makes my sensory issues go waywire (my parents also do this) because she's very loud and doesn't mask.
Wasn't it "any Synergy related to the Stage" or something along those lines?
Fair about the P12 matter, I couldn't quite find a 2 => 3 swap I liked, and didn't want to drop more samples than that to keep keyword diversity. Thanks for helping me double check though!
There was a subvote after Eidolon part 3 vote closed where we voted whether we wanted True Telepathy in Yara's build in a more permanent fashion. It would make her build less flexible, but in exchange Bitterman would give us a guaranteed clue on one psychic synergy. Pretty sure majority of us agreed to it.
I'd also like to point out that Ellie says conversations with Black Swan always hurt because she thinks Black Swan dislikes her and very much wants to her to like her because she has a crush.
This is the kind of utter nonsense I'd expect from some 14 year old losing a ship war on Tumblr.
Also if you think BlackGold is abusive, why is Silvio supposedly a less abusive option ????
Will you commit to doing that in the future now? You would still vote on her powers as normal whenever you empower her, but she must have [True Telepathy] at a minimum. Any builds that don't have that—or something equivalent—will be vetoed.
"So you really claim that your evil is all the result of the abuse and pain you dealt with and you are prepared to acknowledge the things you have done are bad and you do not understand what is good? Very well then. We'll give you another go as a child and see if you come out differently" is a take that only works with sufficient reality-altering-power but upon reflection it's a neat third way between "cool motive, still murder" and "oh you poor baby of course you're forgiven you couldn't have done otherwise it's not your fault."
"If you want good in this world you must make it and safeguard it and grow it and spread it and share it, for otherwise there shall be none. If you want a happy ending you must earn it with the sweat of your brow. Then it shall come as the fruit of your labors and none shall say it is not deserved, that it is not just" feels like the underlying narrative message, and while that path is a hard one full of toil and pain it is the best one available.
