Guys, the forth voice is the Interlocutor, not Lantern. That why we got it's POV from the last update with Hand, the R-Train reporting on the Leviathan, and then Valkyrie.
Ah. Huh. I thought the Interlocutor would have been the First Voice, as a sort of weird avatar of the Leviathan.

The intrigue of this quest deepens!

I'm surprised people still think Lantern's a voice when it was basically spelled out for us; the reason we were given R-Train's perspective is cause of Leviathan's reaction really, the First of the Voices. I just think of Lantern as an extension of Hand once I saw the update and it confirmed Interlocutor as the 4th Voice.

Kind of puts into perspective how both are described before and what we know now.
Why was it waking up? It had loomed over the City of Horizon, dead, for nearly fifty years. Yet now even his children could hear its silent screams in their minds. Four voices. One unfathomably large and low; a crushing pressure who would erase them all without noticing. Another, high and sweet and full of rage. A third, deluded and cunning, begging for all, unearned. A fourth, confused and hurt and trying to still troubled waters the way you smoothed out wrinkles on a sheet.

Ah, and then there was a fifth, new. The psychic equivalent of someone opening their window and shouting at the neighbors to keep it down. Valiant Silver, arrogant as ever, even in her desperation.

"But there are four voices louder than everyone else. One is the Leviathan. It's not alive—at least, not alive like we are—but it sings all the same, low, deep, and meaningless. There's another voice, sweet and wrathful. It's coming from Wonderland. From the most powerful psychic in the world."

You don't breathe. Valkyrie?

"There are two more voices, but I can't make them out. They shift and hide and, if I'm being honest, are disgusting. One's like a wax figure of a man that's melted. The other's like if you tried to remake a figure of a person out of the melted wax. But they're getting lounder. And so is the Leviathan."

So Four Voices are Leviathan, Valkyrie, Hand and Interlocutor.
.....
We are going to end up blowing up the world.

Valkyrie the agent of instability
Interlocutor agent of chaos
Hand agent of Malevolence
Leviathan agent of annihilation.

I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I only assumed Lantern was the Fourth voice because she refers to Hand as her dad and Nora says the fourth voice is like if you made a human out of the third voice's melted bits.

But yeah, the Interlocutor makes more sense.

Justice for All, and Mercy for One -- spiderhellian New
Justice for All, and Mercy for One

The stage is a strange place. It's a place where the idea of one world and one moment in that world grows murky, and realms and moments can so easily blur together. It's a place where belief becomes manifest, and wishing can indeed make it so.

So be careful what you wish for.

There is a cord that was once a woman's connection to the stage. It had constantly thrummed with power, its wires bearing edicts that shaped the lives of countless thousands. It was stretched and constantly channeled, and while the woman who bore it may have been nearly burnt to a crisp by what that meant, the powerlines themselves hummed on unchanging.

Those wires thrummed almost every hour of every day, before that last fateful, fruitless, day. A day when the whole Stage rippled, and when so many of those connected to it went quiet forevermore.

The lines went still, the power shuddered to a halt, those who came from dust returned to dust.

Until.

Until the day a woman's voice rippled through a chorus. Desperate, but demanding. Plaintive, but persistent. A voice that struck with the force of an explosive, and could not be denied.

In its wake, those well-worn lines once again rippled with power, as another woman answered the call.

Sing, O Bitter Muse, of all things that power wrought, of butterflies with wings torn asunder. For I shall not. Instead, I will focus on one moment, when the power thrummed with the thoughts and memories of the woman who bore it once, and what she saw and what she did.

Through eyes not her own, the woman saw a boy she loved. And, as with everyone she had loved, a boy she had failed. And who -- obviously, unavoidably, uncontrovertibly -- had been failed in turn by the person she inhabited now.

Through ears not her own, the woman heard a cry from a realm far distant. She did not know how it was borne to the stage, or who delivered it, or why it pierced the veil that seperates audience from actor. But she heard it nonetheless -- "what is needed... is outside pressure...", "...on Noelle..."

Most of the woman's once-formidable might was being channeled in that explosion of power. But with what will she had, she met the boy's eyes. She gave him a faint smile.

In a voice not her own, she said, "You, too, can be more. I believe in you, Silvio." His gaze on the body that was not her own sharpened, and the heart that was not her own skipped a beat.

She needed to say something more. A burnt-down bridge is not spanned by a dozen words. But then she was fading, going, gone.

She heard the audience's jeers as she returned to the chorus. That was nothing new, however, and nothing to rival the vitriol she hurled at herself. She had answered the plea in front of her, and delivered justice as best she could.

For the first time, she had delivered mercy too.
I have said before, what is needed to strengthen this relationship is outside pressure. Seek out a recruit who will put the moves on Noelle, Mona will rise to the occasion.
Silvio is right. There. :V

Thankfully, Justiciar is there to open our eyes.

...At some point I'll stop the shameless JustGold shipping. But that day is not today!

So Kyoko is Speaker
Oscar is Augur

Faust is Moon Over Crown
Socialite Butterfly is KEy
The spying Eye is Lantern
The Hand is the meat throne
Star Sun and Fish

Question.... If Socialit e Butterfly survives were we ever going to get the chance to remove Socialite Butterfly fromthe board?

Oh!
Wow, okay, that's a big piece of information. Maybe it was obvious to others, it definitely wasn't obvious to me!

Then based on the line(s) about wax, Hand is probably its progenitor who doesn't understand that? Huh!

So the voice-glimpses are also an avenue for insight on the very perplexing interlocutor. It's fun to have more data on that oh-so-mysterious creature, at least.

Dynamite is SO cool, guys.
Okay, it's taking everything I have to not spoil this chapter, but I will show this:

Name: Red Iustitia, Blind Judge of Heaven, Noelle "Ellie" Han

Stockpile Nega!Quest will be so freaking out by this, if they weren't freaking out by the fact we utterly beat them and by everything SB has done and can do.

Becuase I see their Eidolon pt. 3 equivalent end about here

"EDICT: ALL THINKING CREATURES NOT NAMED YARA OLIVEIRA OR KAITLYN ENGLISH MUST KILL THEMSELVES. PUNISHMENT: CONSTANT STIMULATION OF THE PAIN CENTERS OF THEIR BRAINS."

No, no, no, no, no, no, no—!

Becuase the Truth, Justice and the Horizon Way QM loves evil cliffhangers.
