The fact that it's all such a mess---and Socialite Butterfly's personality---means she hasn't drawn the connection between the shell company you paid and the GDT.

Also I'm even more convinced that we should give Song a Deadman combo, since apparently keeping our process a secret has been a very, very important reason we've not just straight up lost and been put into something like a death-spiral or at least a, "How badly do we want to lose for the next half-dozen issues while building up the ability to then win afterwards if we can endure" situation.

So, like, yes, let's keep the Bullshit coming in terms of excuses or so on!
Just give him autobiokinesis and new synergy to give his youth back to keep our cover lol.

Deadman is too high potency for song while giving him 2 synergies work in making him effective and airtight cover.

Every Drop
-Soldier X 1
- Daggermaw 1
-Mr Hunch 1
-Adamant 3

Honestly Im tempted to give him all the potency 1's.
It should cover everthing tbh...
Firebender/Energy Bender Martial Artist Grandpa.
My "The Uncle Iroh" build is mostly that, but it's just Hydrocity/Soldier X/Hunch/Daggermaw/Steadfast, for extra durability.

There's also a bunch of variations on the core Hunch/Daggermaw/Soldier X/a 3-cost (Fast Track, Miss Conception, Sewer Rat).

No, it isn't? Like, I've literally outlined a simple Deadman combo that would be really cool. I've been on this wagon for a little while, in fact.

Unrelated: Given SB traced all our financials, im concerned she'll get involved in the Ghost Dragon Triad mess
The Triad and Monarch are presumably not safe from Lanterns spying, meaning it'd be comparatively easy for her to get.
They definitely know about the GDT and about the Frozen Throne to some extent, just from Crusade being there when we investigated them - they don't even need Lantern for that.

But since Bitterman posted that SB didn't draw a connection from the shell company to the GDT, I have to assume that Lantern probably wasn't looking in on us on the day we went to go investigate the GDT - which is likely the case, because Crusade isn't attacking us by saying that we bought Goldnine from a triad leader who is LL's half-sister, and Ronin is still within Crusade and hasn't been purged.

Let's actually take another look at the finances quote:

"Someone leaked us Justice Unlimited finances. Not all of them, but enough to see that you're flat broke with bills coming due. That same person tipped us off that you were meeting with Ms. Oliveira today."
They don't have the full picture. They know we're broke, which is true, but they think we have bills coming due - they think we're in the red, not in the black. So they don't know about all our sources of income - they probably don't know about us getting money from Adamant's stash because we went there with Mona (and would assume we went there Behemoth-hunting), and maybe they don't even know about how New Dawn is funding us.

It costs a Fast Pass and that's it though? Boosts Song to 5 and leaves space for Hunch/Daggermaw/Soldier X without going out of the minor side effects range off the -3 Potency reduction. The only issue is the question of needing more relatively more normal power level powers in the C-B range but this possibly would fall in that area?

Here's what I am thinking. We get Fast Pass, we use it, we get a good High-B lister with a story that will sell and minor side-effects at most while being incredibly effective and most of all... a set of powers that will actually build on his existing skills and abilities rather than clashing with them.

Let's look at things for a second. Without boosting we are capped at 3 cost on top of the Soldier/Hunch/Daggermaw base, rather than Deadman's 5. Where Soldier + Deadman theoretically works but we know the Hunch/Daggermaw synergy should work well with Song per Bitterman so that base 3 cost is locked in.

While looking at compatible powers in that range, Frostbite has the armor for covering but wouldn't be a guarantee for hiding the identity if the armor is broken and Antaneus is in a similar boat. The all 1-2s in theory could work but more feel to be for the sake of it over necessarily a focused build and feels slightly dubious on the cover end.

The options without boosting seem to be exactly Adamant for ABO identity hiding and Strength or Sewer Rat if we think it works for cover which is a solid maybe. If we can boost things Deadman does seem pretty comfortably the best option in the 4-5 range when taking into account cover, otherwise Epoxy would be fairly tempting.

The big issue with any of the planning for Song as is, is the fact that Bitterman is considering shifting how much we can boost tolerance on any one character and if that gets added, Fast Pass would be getting scrapped or changed according to him. So we have the question of money and what the system will look like once its time in the first place.

To be fair, Sewer Rat also has the thing of, if Clairvoyance + Senses + Strength is, in fact, a Spider Sense combo, then adding an extra Enhanced Senses might boost it to a + version that boosts it's potency or range or some other factor. Plus it's also go double Transformation, and who knows, Self Enhancement + Regen + Fitness + Transformation might do something physical.

Hmm
Name: Mister Hunch, Remy Deniau
Power: Clairvoyance
Faction: Independent
Potency: 1
Ibis' Notes: ~Mister Hunch! Mister Hunch! Work with him to save a bunch!~ Ah, I remember that blasted commercial jingle well. It's taking up precious space in my brain!
Mister Hunch was a private detective who was known for being psychometric. He could touch an inanimate object and then "watch" everything that happened within a five-foot radius of the object in the last 24 hours. He was particularly beloved by those suing corporations and was a frequent collaborator with Lady Leizi. Unfortunately, his talents brought him the wrong kind of attention and he was murdered in an attack by the Demon Flamez.
... can we use this is make a... what is it? That power from Naruto that lets that eyepatch white hair guy, the guy who's skin Etho from Hermitcraft wares, copy peoples moves just by watching them? Can we do that with this?

It would be a good cover, just like "Oh I didn't know I had a power, I just thought I was good at spotting what my students were doing wrong and analyzing my opponents!"

I mean, Wolong said that his Clairvoyance + Strength combo, which we're assuming this is, is 'familiar', and we know that Wolong's own Analytical Precognition is in itself, a synergy. If it's the low-power version of it, then that could work.

Random question: Are 5-keyword combos 'stronger' or 'better' than 3-keyword ones?

@Kermie Also, take that +2 back. Doing the math on the stats, you don't need it now. I didn't realize how much you've guys have been power-leveling REP.

Also, I think ScorpioSting asked, but since they're finalized, here are Belle Sabreuse and Yara's stats.

Belle Sabreuse: HIT 8, ESPIONAGE 5, REPUTATION 3, OPERATIONS 5.
Yara Oliveira: HIT 1, ESPIONAGE 3, REPUTATION 2, OPERATIONS 1.

I think I'm gonna cap tolerance boosts at 3. Fast Pass will give you two right away for less money that two Spoonfuls, but will not allow you to ever give the third boost, nor can it be used in conjunction with previous Spoonfuls.

I see! That actually means we can what? Technically boost someone by 6 points, three from raising their Tolerance and three from lowering Potency?
I think that's plenty fair! If it makes it so we make more fun combo's that aren't "PUMP STARIGHT TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOON!" then I'm all for it!

Okay, this means that we have Soraia capped at 8, Shelley capped at 9, and Cain capped at 10. While Shelley could get very close, Cain is officially now our only other option barring Yara/Homer who can hit P13.

I'm also of the opinion of not wanting to use Fast Pass on Shelley or Cain due to their higher caps being useful, so the main questions for if Fast Pass is useful to get before the other options would be Song or Soraia barring us getting more recruits. Rosemary's Baby is probably my current main push as the hints Bitterman has given seems fascinating.

I mean the same applies for adamant Strenght. While also giving another synergy which since LL mentioned giving Song youth back and how he hated losing his skills to age should give hina better body that in his prome.

Say hisbpowers only triggered aftrer reaching a certain age or something loke how deadman had death as the trigger for powers.

Powers are weird afterall.

That's sort of the idea. P13 should be special. If you could make them at will, then I couldn't make them all as powerful as Black Swan or Valiant Gold. This will force you to be creative and keep the powerscaling from going full DBZ.

"But Bitterman, our combos! We need more room for samples! How will anyone realistically use Zeno now?!"

"Rosemary's Baby!"
