Man, this beat down will look bad in Stockpile Nega-Quest.
Meanwhile...

I'm just saying, that nat 1 at the start really set the tone for the update.

I bet Leizi Nega-Quest is cheering right now.

You'd think so. You'd really think so...

...Odd. So, what, are they afraid that Plasticity, Perspective and Ronin are on their way here and that the successes they made here aren't enough to secure a full victory?

Or maybe their metahumans on a timer of how much they can 'overclock' their powers? We've already speculated that whatever they do to empower them, it must have some sort of amazing drawback, on top of draining the Leviathan.

Or maybe JU is under the assumption that we have an ace under our sleeve?

Maybe LL is paranoid and is afraid we could still convince Yara to come with us, somehow?
Sweetwoman said:
All I'll confirm is that JU are in fact people. Just like you guys are scared of Black Swan, they too have reason to be scared of your armor, and of BS being 3v1'd, and so on.

Well. They had reason to be scared of BS being 3v1'd in her current state. Then that luck roll came in...

PREVAIL is scary... Put that way, I can see them thinking it's not over yet. And hell, maybe if we roll a lot better on the next update, we might get them to lose or at least break even with them.

I was just browsing wikipedia (as you do) and I realized something
Iara, also spelled Uiara, Yara or Hiara(Portuguese pronunciation: [iˈjaɾɐ], [iˈaɾɐ], [ˈjaɾɐ], [wiˈjaɾɐ], [ujˈjaɾɐ]) or Mãe das Águas ([ˈmɐ̃jdɐz ˈaɡwɐs], "mother of the waters"), is a figure from Brazilian mythology based on Tupi and Guaraní mythology.
Did Yazmin name her hero persona after Yara? It could be a coincidence, but if it's true I think that says a lot about Yazmin's deeper feelings towards Yara. That's seriously so cute.

I'm slightly bummed that all important luck roll was nat 1. It's probably not anything too bad considering we just had those amazing earlier rolls. Considering I was preceded by a Rep roll (which was also unfortunately nat 1), my guess is that those are us trying to convince Crusade "hey, we aren't the problem, someone else is also here trying to divide us". Since we failed, it means Silvio is back on full-blaming us on what happened, which I'm kinda bummed about. I was hoping we could perhaps win him over eventually, but I guess it ain't happening yet.

If it helps, I'm glad it happened. The first part was such a total ass-kicking we needed this for some narrative tension.

In fact, it's a slightly different series of events than I envision because the front end was such an ass-beating.

The Minute they couldnt down BS and had to Put their heavy hitters on her, meant we could outnumber most of Crusade.

Ete isnt reallt that good in a fight since even with blue skies and Printempts their HIT only amounted to 15. Handyman has 8 and super strenght and Leizi can handle Joules lightning.

Brass is already injured and while MW and DS have low Hit thats still 3v1 with with Belle H8 serving as Core.

Chatelet+Chimera should be Hit 16 against Seraph who I dont think really has High Hit.

BS is BS and SK being Lightmanipulator means shes a Kryptonite to him while WH is too weak to really hurt her.

The Fight really was about whether VG could handle VJ and get him away from everyone. Critting just meant it was a curbstomp instead of a struggle like it should have been.

Would you say you're glad it happened in the same way you're glad you got to show off that Scarlet Maturity was so strong, back in Faustian? I imagine that fight would have had quite a different tone if we hadn't had this:

Minor Success: DC 5. Moderate Success: DC 10. Major Success: DC 15.

Stat Check: HIT 15. Black Swan has HIT 9.

You rolled: 1.

1 - 3 = -2. Uh oh.
He somehow knows where you'll be and catches you by the head. You try to pull away, but his grip is like black hole of his own. You can't escape.

"It seems, Black Swan, that I was not showing you proper respect," he rumbles, "I will correct that immediately."

Scarlet Maturity slams your head into the ground and buries you deep, deep into the soil. He then starts running, dragging your body through the earth like he was tilling a field. He goes faster, and faster, building momentum until he plucks you free and flings you horizontally with an underhand toss.

Your shield generator crackles and fails, the defensive shield overwhelmed.

...Though, then again, that exact update nearly had Handyman die. Perhaps tension would have been retained even if she'd been more able to keep up with SM.

Something like that! If he was your enemy specialized in HIT, now you're dealing with an ESP/OPS foe.

It'd be lame if you couldn't ever get put on the back foot.

They are gonna believe that our "booster" for powers must be as cracked up as Black Swan seems to be.
Dynamite is probably just gonna make it worse. Since that should be equal to Lightspeed dash with just worst Cost, Instead of Strict Prerequisites in needing Hypernova to safely use it.

We have VG OPS but unfortuantely dont have an Espionage P13 yet.

Still handyman and LL should be able to put up a fight once they get their berring unless they got downed.

*Snort* We are NOT beating the "Power amplyfing" allegations huh?
Man Crusade and the Philosophers must be foaming out the mouth because of our shenanigans.

It's also probably stronger than light speed dash. VG is a high-A without it. She's an X class with it.

Also someone asked about Belle's ranking? A class.
Goddamn a 2nd X-Class even if only for short time. Nora really cooked with that one.

The only other X-Class I can think off is King, Valkyrie and The Hand.

The Philosophers/Elysium especially should know that what weve got is better than theirs.

Like I'm pretty sure they allow rung trash in elysium for easy recruits and chances of getting Meta.s

Since as VS put you need to live in years near a psychic siphon to get a decent amount of the boost.

While ours looks like quick and easy boost with Dynamite just looking like super one if with cost. Since I doubt we can hide the armor shutting down after it.
