If we had picked Nora we absolutely would have started with more headway on the Leviathan meta-plot. I'm glad that this side effect is probably going to speed up information on that!

has Stockpile not started focusing on a specialization for his Algernon-type yet, because he's 19, or has he chosen one yet?

It's not defined yet. As far as you know at least.

Honestly I feel anxious every time I ask a question because there's a part of me that goes "EVERY TIME YOU ASK SOMETHING, THE NEXT CHAPTER GETS DELAYED BY 4 HOURS, AND ALSO YOU'RE SPOILING THE FUTUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".

So is there any particular reason why Algernon-type powers aren't on the list of potentially giftable powers? Like, yeah, I get that it'd be a long-term investment, to say the least, but I also think that it'd at least be worth considering, given Wayne examples of what the known people who have it have accomplished.

Lady Leizi watched her best friend essentially gain early onset dementia at age 31 because her self-worth was tied up in a destructive use of her power. She would never willing curse someone like that.

So... if this is how EXCEED looks like, why does EXCEED-BEYOND never work on someone with metahuman Powers?

(Also, dang on the Algernon Powers bit, because I have the feeling we would really like to have that in the challenges to come?)

Do we know where on earth are the Catch-22 now, or are there unconfirmed members out there????
(Man that's a lot of Apocalypses just walking around in this setting huh. And we can't throw any of the members off planet, apparently?)

It really is looking like us getting Silver Age Superman but Cute was less amazing and more "The bare minimum to have a chance in this hellhole"

Yikes

All are accounted for except the one Nora accidentally killed.

One is kept in the Elysium Station on top of Jacob's Ladder, but no one has tried to fling them into space. It costs too much money and they're totally harmless unless you put two of them next to each other like an idiot.

Thank god. The update mentioned that Wonderland could contain 3 at most, not that it had 3 in there. Considering the state of Wonderland right now, I was fearful we had a loose reality warper out there.

There are only three in Horizon right now. One on the Elysium Station, one in the Frozen Throne, and one in the Apiary. They stopped putting them in Wonderland after the last incident let a bunch of other prisoners escape.

One in the Apiary? Well, that makes getting our base back a even higher priority. Making sure that our Catch-22 is still in prison is incredibly important.

That said, I wonder what Catch-22 are exactly. You'd think it was a metahuman, but what kind of superpower would turn you into a hivemind of multiple flesh puppets without recollection of any human personality or memory? Even for the most extreme natural and Ambrosia-caused side effects, it just doesn't line up. Even Moon River knows she's human despite losing all her senses and orientation.

Does Justice Unlimited have any information about its origins?

...Of all the things I was expecting, I can't say it was anywhere in the ballpark of having Mona suddenly appearing in what I initially believed was supposed to be a flashback sequence (or equivalent "this is a thing that happened previously in the setting"). This is most certainly going to have knock-on effects in the future or past as whatever new psychic doomsday scenario decides to show their face, because there's likely not going to be any shortage of them.

I'm gonna say, like the R-Train, RAFO!

Looking at our various options for John Henry, I had a thought about Deadman and Autumne and Elemental Manipulation.

If we put one or the other inside a new dose, would the element chosen still be completely random, or would there be a slight weighing towards elements closer to the origin (so, for Deadman, given his was magma, a decent chance of that verbatim, or fire or earth on their own)?

I don't think Mona's flashbacks are time-travel-adjacent in a "affecting the past, altering the future", sort of way. She's not going to Marty McFly fade out of existence by saying something that alters Nora's decisions that results in her survival which means Mona never gets injected with Goldnine.

Depends what else is in there and what power synergies you do or do not hit on.
