Stockholm Syndrome isn't actually a thing. It was coined by a quack trying to explain why a bunch of hostages sided with the hostage-takers, in a situation where the police didn't give a shit about said hostages. So kinda fitting that these goons invoked it.
It's not?! Really?????? WHAT?!?!?!!??!

As for who could pair well... who adopted our little witch again? I think that's a good pair

Black Swan CK3 Character Sheet

Diplomacy: 30 (-30)
Black Swan combines a natural charisma capable of swaying the most broken soul in a hopeless city, with a natural uncharisma that repels those she has romantic interest in just as much as it attracts those she has absolutely no romantic interest in.

Martial: 20
Black Swan has a natural instinct for combat that lends itself best to guiding her into the optimal time and place to kick ass.

Stewardship: 10
Black Swan possesses a collection of Justice Unlimited merchandise that is truly intimidating to behold. Unfortunately (considering how much she spent), said memorabilia has not appreciated significantly in monetary value.

Intrigue: 5 (30?)
While Black Swan possesses zero conventional espionage abilities (barring her capacity to conceal evidence by tossing it down a black hole), she was somehow able to discover part of the truth of Project Prometheus, scale the Ladder, and locate Justice Unlimited's hidden backup base to demand participation. Considering Lady Leizi was able to fool even the Illuminati, you're pretty sure Mona's hiding something. Probably. Definitely.

Learning: 15
You don't become a paid intern of the most prestigious Superhero Team in Horizon by being dumb. Right?

Prowess: 1000
Black Swan can truthfully claim to be one of the five most powerful metahumans on the planet.

Traits:
Lucky - Did you just roll 7 consecutive Nat 20s?!?!

Silver Tongue - You've got rizz girl.

Foot in Mouth - *Sees Valiant Gold* Uhhhhhhh never mind.

Retroactive Relevance - Gaslight gatekeep girlboss!

Worthwhile Interview pairings

BS+VG: fun Mona fumbles.

BS+MW: strong friendship, Mona's cheerfulness contrasts Maddie's gloom

VG+H: Their training scene had good rapport, and they can both do a good Serious Business talk

Chaucer adopted Maddie, and hes not doing the interview

Honestly wouldnt mind going all in

Though In terms of Bonus It might be best to just go with 2 Pairs so we have a +5 so we can just burn bonus to pass the cover check if we roll low.

QM does the Espionage 10 check already onclude leizi?

Please dont...I dont think my heart could take it. Ill vote for whatever happens, but... yeah im concerned if we go all in.
Like I said I wouldnt mind

That said we need to calculate the espionage of the one in the interview and Any bonus.

Though yeh I thibk Handyman and MW should have a bonus same with VG and BS

Though will the espionage of those not doing an Interview stil be added to stat check?

Cause Leizi, Mw, Handyman, BS and VG have total of 30 espionage which if so that woulnt give us any bonus ether since the check would be 30 too.

Actually... thinking about it...

No, why would we put Handyman up there? His entire thing is being sneaky shapeshifter! An interview defeats like a good half of his power if EVERYONE knew JU has him in their ranks.

Also, we already have 2 people- no three- four? Four people we can safely throw in.

LL is LL, no cover risk there.
Valiant Gold is Valiant Gold, like... again there is no cover there we are very clear she is VS's successor
Menagerie Witch wasn't made with Project Prometheus so she's safe, plus her backstory... could win people over maybe?
Châtelet also did not get a power from Project Prometheus, and I think having her up there would let people question why Crusade has that uh... I forget their name but one of Chateler's old... teammates? Could you even call them teammates if it was forced?

We got four already who are 100% safe to toss up there, and Mona is Mona, so she's pretty safe to put up there too.

Do we really want to risk putting out other two up there when we have a clean and safe line up already laid out?
Plus if we think Crusade is gonna try something can't we have Doctor Silver and Handyman on security?

You know before this point I had minor respect for Steelheart's ability to stand up to Novalight instead of letting her walk all over him, plus he was Nora's mentor at one point.

Now? Fuck that guy.

Gabriel did need to make a deal for that help. Though yeh its weird considering he claims to not like children in wonderland.

Though maybe he degraded due to rebound?

The more I hear about this setting, the more I want to set it on fire, I'm just glad we've got a kernel of people who aren't complete fucking monsters.

Also, White Hawk apparently extremely immune to kinetic force, to the point where hitting them with a Module Ultimate does zero apparent damage.

Stockpile also apparently has a mindfuck aura attached to his armor too, which may be working on him as well?
My Smart money says Rebound! Happened. And probably given he got Rebounded! I bet he thought he did a clever and set his armor up to draw…Maybe ambient energy is what he thinks? And in practice…
Well, in practice he's anywhere from messing up people who get near him to possibly being a vector for like, that tall guy who gave Leizi's sister that bit of the Throne…

As for the interviews…
Let's not Black Swan and VG, I think.
Mostly because Mona fumbles are just the WORST. Like Bitterman makes a point to make sure Mona sounds like she took 1 every time.
Not Nat 1, took 1. It's a 3.5e thing where you could take ten or take twenty, representing the person taking the time to do it right, to the best of their ability. The trade off being that it takes ten/twenty minutes instead of the six seconds a regular action might take.

Warpstar is odd how he sounds. I almost wonder if his emotions work properly.

…Heracle's timing is interesting. What DID the Lion-man have to say? And what got him into Wonderland?

And How does Novalight continue to be the Worst. Seriously.

Monarch needed legitimacy and power so her daughter could have a safe place to live.
This is good, this is very good. One of the first steps of negotiation is learning the other side's true motive. We now have keystone information if we ever want to negotiate with Monarch personally. Now that we know what she truly wants instead of what she says she wants, working towards a resolution is much easier. Of course, this assumes that some aspect Princess' power isn't going to throw a wrench into the mix somehow, and I have a certainty it will.

I'd make a reactionpost but there was so fucking much on this update, jeez. Bitterman really cooked.

At least we broke even in terms of Reputation and didn't backslide further. Sheesh. Crusade needs to fuck the fuck off. Them and everything about them. Trying to kidnap a child mid-fight is such a bleak kind of evil... And, yeah, Stockpile is 99% guaranteed to be affected by mindfuckery powers somehow.

And now we understand what Bitterman meant when he said that Joules has found a worthy opponent... in bullshitting and assholery, clearly.

RE:Interviews, let's not go all out. I think at most we should have two pairs + LL.

The ones in most need of Reputation (and who coincidentally have highest Espionage) are Handyman and Menagerie Witch, so those two should probably be involved so we can raise their Reputation - maybe even as a pair? They're friends. And it's not like including Handyman in an interview would be bad. People already know he exists - people saw Handyman when taking down the Behemoth at the Apiary, and when he was very unfortunately ripped in half by Scarlet Maturity.

...Maybe DS and VG together, too? They're both inheritors to Nora's legacy, in different ways.

I don't think Swan or Chatelet necessarily need to have interviews, though - their Reputations are both high but also their Espionage are tied for the lowest.

Hell yeh

In that case Leizi, VG and BS then HM and MW

They need the rep. Though I can see going for Chatelet and Doctor Silver to buff their rep even more.

Which if we go with that theres we cna go with DS and VG as Noras Public Legacy then BS and Chatelet as Heir and second in Command?

Thinking about there is a giod reason for mW bot to interview the fact she accidentally caused an accident that killed people but well Im confident that our crew has prep for people connecting her powers to the Worket mitt animals attack

Princess might be one of the lynchpins in Monarch's leadership. "Steelheart kept hurting her" would get the political prisoners on her side, and while I can't be certain none of the legit villains would never hurt A child, clearly, if nothing else, Warpstar, Hercules, Marie and Acid like her enough to protect her.
