Dollman and Acid Rain's garage labs were seized when they were put in Wonderland, right? Meaning anything they have now is rebuilt from scratch instead of having taken it back, right?
They recovered some equipment from New Dawn bases, but most of it is new.
Something funny I just realized about a certain synergy, after some discussion with Realm. We might have been aiming for Anti-Psychic the wrong way.

Like, think about it. Assuming Nora was right, all metahuman powers are somewhat psychic, so we can't avoid it completely. But Clarivoyance was defined as "the most clear expression of psychic energy".

So instead of featuring Clarivoyance, the formula could be instead completely without Clarivoyance:

[Mental Manipulation]+[Energy Manipulation]+[Invulnerability]+[Self-Enhancement]=[Anti-Psychic]

Mental Manipulation to steel your emotions. Self-Enhancement and Invuln to ground your thoughts and wall them off from the world. Energy Manipulation to deflect the psychic waves.

Thoughts?
So, I wanted to suggest this: what is anti-physic that folks want to find? This isn't Pokémon where there's a "dark" type that's a natural counter. Would you expect to find an "anti-energy manipulation" synergy? What would something that fulfills function look like? Might be a way to help you think about it.

You are Caesar Del Rivera the hero Gold Skull And you are fading. You can feel it even with your power's numbing it the pain that wracks your can only mean one thing.

Some people think your powers make have basically a type of invincibility. It takes damage done to you and converts it into exponential super strength with a some pain notification on top. Plus the engery skull thing looks just super cool.

But the issue is absorption and conversion is not nullification of damage. You take a little bit of damage and as such there's basically a limit to what you can take. You pushed yourself to the very edge of it the two times you have fought behemoths before. Today you've fought Seven.

You've sat your ruined body on a bench, because you've promised your passed father if you can't die standing you'd die sitting with your back straight head held high. As you fight to fill your lungs you feel ribs fighting against you with each breath. But you see a horrible horse shaped thing shambling towards you. pinche Pendejo

You dig deep trying to stoke the guttering flame of your power one last time but your body is shot. All the same you push to try and get up reaching into places you didn't even know you had. But instead of getting up you manifest an at least 15 foot tall skeleton. You wish you've done that earlier but in the end you can only laugh

" Jajajajaja"

It seems the big guy shares you humor at the situation. As the two giants meet and begin tearing each other apart & your heats it's dirge loud and Proud in you ears. You have a simple finale thought and know no more.
" I hope victor takes care of Princess & Mictlan"

The speeches are really good, even Wolong's (poor man and his roll lol). Chatelet's made me tear up, but Lady Leizi's being turned into tattoos is hilarious for all that it really is a good/effective speech to encourage people to be better.

The new candidates look interesting (and I hope we get another chance at the one we missed), especially since Mona talked two of them into helping with JU's books because hoo boy do they need help. Too bad Mona fumbled so hard otherwise. Accidentally talking Scarlet Maturity into being friends? Or at least hanging out (he's bored! and lonely! luckily for him, there's a new strong person to bother). And then needing to be rescued by Ellie from Silvio and then admitting to her face that Silvio might be kinda cute? Oof. Maybe one day she'll learn how to switch her attraction luck around. Hope Ellie won't take Mona's words too seriously and start thinking Mona's only attracted to men or something like that.

Silvio, Silvio, Silvio. Ugh, he's so obsessed with his own goals and beliefs he really doesn't care about the collateral, which really goes to show how bad he is at being a good guy. I know he's brainwashed or something, but he really gets on my nerves. Good on Ellie for shutting him down! Multiple times, even. Her transformation sequence was so good. And that psychic interference message is worrying.

Too bad Monarch came to crash things. I can't believe her gall to try and say she and her group are good guys and to try and make parallels with JU. She definitely can't be trusted, I don't think letting them and walk around it a good idea, especially with Crusade there to mess things up. But getting Crusade to coordinate with JU for the fight is gonna be difficult, and it leaves openings for them to spin things their way afterward. Actually, all options do, so I'll ignore that. Talking might be possible? If only from the possible bonuses to the REP check granted from passing the OPS check. +3 and roll with advantage? Definitely makes talking the best choice to me.

Gah, finally read through all of that

And now that I'm done…
"Joelle, listen," Soraia says with sharp eyes, "Everyone is grateful for Justice Unlimited letting us stay here after you drove off Floating Venom Morpheme. Doubly grateful that you helped Ms. Lawson heal those who were poisoned.
@Bitterman so does Soraia just not know their gender or….
"Y'know, they're cute but something's missing . . . not monster-y enough, y'know?"

"What is with your taste?!"
We have a monsterfucker over here :V
"Excuse me," she says, grabbing something out of his hand. It's a palm-sized screen with a small wand on the back.

"What's that—?" you ask.

"A scanner of some sort," she says in a flat voice, "He was using it on you when he thought you were distracted."
Silvio, you sneaky little—

So much for that speech you just made.
"What?!" you say, shocked, "He liked me? Nooooooo waaaaaay! That's so flattering!"

You remember with his eyes flashed and were all intense. It freaked you out, but on someone else you . . . kinda like it?

"Huh! He was k kinda cute when he was getting all worked up!" you muse.

Ellie's eyes widen in some emotion you can't place before her expression snaps back to her usual impassive mask. "I see. Just be careful next, Black Swan."

She quickly pulls away and disappears into the crowd.

"Ellie, wait!" you stutter as you lose sight of her, "He's cute for a poo-head! A poo-head! His head is poo! Come back! Please! Fuuuuunnel caaaaaakes!"
omfg Mona…… of all the fumbles you could've pulled off, you had to do that one….

Gonna make a post for the votes later but my opinion on who the next Ambrosia candidate could be depends. Personally I strongly suggest making a tank build.

The thing is, Monarch is at least a little of a victim. She got thrown into a supermax for mass murderers just for pissing off the rich.

Wait, was there any ideological dimension to her thieving, like the Defiance Unit, or was it purely "the rich have the most stuff"?

Reading Scarlet Maturity here kinda just makes me feel sad for him that that's all he has to do in his free time and nothing else. Like he's even trying to enjoy something other than "Battle the Strongest" and nothing comes up.

Also can people direct me on where certain ambrosia candidates are in the Apocrypha?

Talking is only possible due to crit. So while theres a risk of failure it lets us gordion knot the problem by forcing Monarch to actually talk, since I'm pretty sure they expected to be attacked first instead of detected and held up.

Black Swan is probably something that SM hasn't really encountered before: someone strong enough for him to take seriously, but also someone who is actually willing to treat him like a person instead of an asset or obstacle. Some basic socialization will probably do him a surprising amount of good.

Silvio, Silvio, Silvio. Ugh, he's so obsessed with his own goals and beliefs he really doesn't care about the collateral, which really goes to show how bad he is at being a good guy.

If I was to name one key vice of his, it would be "thoughtlessness." It's not that he's intentionally cruel or uncaring; he simply does not think things through. This applies in both immediate terms (starting a fight in the middle of a packed memorial service) and long terms (thinking for five seconds about if his new 'allies' may have ulterior motives).

Oh, that's easy enough to explain: she's losing. Horizon is experiencing an Age of the Power Vacuum right now, and Monarch's desperately trying to position herself as "here to stay." The hope was to take out New Dawn quickly to seize their territory, but they've got JU backing them up, and Crusade is also treating her group like a punching bag. So, the new play is "diplomacy," which means playing nice, paying back debts and acting like she's a reasonable (or at least tolerable) entity that's too difficult to get rid of. Otherwise, everyone else will get it in their heads to team up and dogpile her.

The really funny thing is that as an Algernon, using Nora's statline as a guide, he almost certainly has/would have had a good OPS score if we had recruited him, the Being Smart Stat.

Now that I'm looking back on the candidates, it's awfully interesting comparing them and how they changed once they got to Bitterman.

Soraria: +1 to ESP
Positive trait; absolute firecracker, Yazmin-like
negative trait: would speak out against any morally ambiguous things we try. Good thing we're trying to be more!

Shelley: -1 to HIT, +3 to ESP, -1 to REP,
Positive trait: almighty janitor, weird main character energy, stealthiness with big impacts
Negative trait; we should probably keep an eye on her because of all of the above

Song Yu-Jin: -1 to ESP, -1 to REP, -1 to OPS, +1 Tolerance
Positive trait: Keith mentioned, high determination, still waters running deep
Negative trait: oh god oh fuck his cover

Cain: -1 to HIT, -3 to ESP, +2 to REP, -2 to OPS, +4 Tolerance.
Positive trait: holy fuck that tolerance, high hit, good ops, knows how to kill and kill well, will do anything as long as we take care of his sister
Negative trait: literally was a serial killer.

Also people to buff our stewardship since it really does seem like JU dumpstatted that as whole whihc is why they never really expanded.

I haven't properly been reading Ambrosia build posts for specific candidates yet, but I will suggest this: I really think we should do a tank build first. So far the one that caught my eye is the Wade Family Combo on Song (tho this is gonna be problematic on the pr side)

You know, this adds to what I said earlier

Why is she still here? Why is she trying to anchor herself here? To the place with people who can just... create a prison she can't escape.

I... I wonder... I wonder if she's like double L. I wonder if she's... if someone just reached out a hand, who tried to see past the mask...

I wonder if they would see a scared little girl, trying to cling to something for safety.

Maybe so, maybe not... But I do wonder

Unfortunately like with YQ shes done too much shit.

Part of me just wants to give Song Steadfast + Soldier X. It's not flashy but it means he's always peak human and lets him leverage his experience.

Plus it's just cool, the trope of the old master who is just that fucking good. Flashy techniques? Superpowers? No, he just has decades of pure martial arts skills and a perfect unbreakable body.
