I'm talking about the internal optics, not the public perception. How the fuck are you selling "we're giving the known serial killer the perfect ability to run away with his family and also hide his identity while committing murders" to the rest of the team.
....Good point.....what about giving him a power that makes him dysmorphic, strong when fighting normal people but stop short of granting invulnerability?
Or we could just go with ...,. You know what there a plan that involves only enhanced senses

What if we give him a build concentrated on Clairvoyance and Enhanced Senses?

Daggermaw 1
Sewer Rat 3
Umibozu 7
Hydrocity 1

Basically Takes advantage of his fighting experience but concentrates mostly on Transformation and Elemental Manipulation and enhanced senses.
Basic idea is he can operate independently. But if we need to he can be taken out.

I could see him in combo with John Henry

Been reading past discussions and noticed that while we've been talking about Shelley, Song, and Cain, we haven't been talking all that much about Soraia. What builds do we want for her? I was thinking of getting her to t7 and then giving her the p10 builds we've had (not to be mistaken with p13)

I honestly want to try out a bunch of lower potency builds? One thing is that we are literally broke and I expect a lot of the additional recruits will end up as mostly supporting or background cast because of the inherent difficulties in trying to give every character equal screentime.

Given our limited funding I would also prefer to prioritize boosting Yara and Homer first once we recruit them.

I was thinking of getting her teleporter powers or something with Automne's power in it.

We can't do that. We have a side effect roll and then we roll for what type of side effect we have.

We can go for a Memoria Build.

Memoria, Ispy, Steadfast

A Powerful Clairvoyant with Teleportation and Invisibility. And Invulnerability

Juicing potency and then getting a side effect roll with deletrious effects on mental stability sounds like a good way to maximize drama, but I am not sure if it would be prudent.

I mean, I'm all for more drama and creating interesting situations, but other people might not be. :p

Wade Family Combo seems pretty solid for Song, tho perhaps we could 1 more potency in the mix :V

Perhaps Daggermaw for the extra Transformation and Enhanced Strength. Or maybe Mr. Hunch for that Clairvoyance + Enhanced Strength combo.

We can go for a Memoria Build.

Honestly if in the scenario we're unable to get the 2000/20 vision build, that works for me. Heck having just Steadfast works so much for survivability.

I'll also sneak in this one into the mix.
Hadouken
Lightstep (7) + Daggermaw (1) + Millions Minefield (1) + Soldier X (1) = 10
[Enhanced Strength] x2, [Enhanced Senses] x2, [Enhanced Speed], [Invulnerability], [Fitness], [Regeneration], [Transformation], [Energy Manipulation]

Anyways, played around with builds again. Here's one I came up with that's a lesser version of the Flash Step build. I put Millions Minefield in there to give the user a mid-range option where they could send out energy blasts from their fists.

Another thing is it's obviously going to get increasingly hard to maintain our cover if we keep pulling these super strong metahumans out of the woodwork.

And the idea of an old guy beating superheroes with pure expression of martial skill is just too fun to pass up, you know?

Yeah a lot of the more interesting combos are the lower Tolerance ones. I want a Memoria main or Wade Family Combo. We don't need a whole team of invincible Black Swans goddammit.

I'm actually looking at the 3 or 4 potency combos. There's Soldier X + Steadfast which should be pretty straightforward in it's effects, but we can also just tack on another 1 cost pretty easily, so like, add clairvoyance for subtle combat precognition or enhanced strength/enhanced senses. We still get a kickass martial master at minimum.

@Bitterman, I have three questions:
  1. If Novalight knew she wasn't a good leader, then why didn't she make someone else leader?
  2. If we create a hero using only 1 or 2 DNA samples, can we still lower the dosage by 3?
  3. Is Ten Metahumans the limit for how many we can have?

They recovered some equipment from New Dawn bases, but most of it is new.

So, I wanted to suggest this: what is anti-physic that folks want to find? This isn't Pokémon where there's a "dark" type that's a natural counter. Would you expect to find an "anti-energy manipulation" synergy? What would something that fulfills function look like? Might be a way to help you think about it.
I mean, my idea for "anti-psychic" was really more "anti Mental Manipulation", and my idea for it was "mental hardening/Invulnerability", though there was one build where I suspected it'd take the form of linked consciousnesses making the minds difficult to affect properly.

My anti-Clairvoyance, meanwhile, was "invisibility, but extended/focused on non-standard senses".
Unfortunately like with YQ shes done too much shit.
There really needs to be an option inbetween "let them go free with a slap on the wrist" and "send them into a max security prison filled with horrible people for eternity". Sadly, the only third option currently is "kill them". Something to work on in the future? I really do think having multiple prisons would be much safer, honestly...

Anyway, I'm going to point something out: with what money are we going to enhance Tolerances and grant powers? We're broke!

Monarch priblem was that wonderland was really the only place she could be imprisoned since you needed someone with cismas power to stop her teleports.

Unfortuanyely being wonderland means she had to interact with monster and become a monster herself.

Like if cisma died and she just left by herself Id be willing to try to flip, make her an asset or atleast not kill her.

But breaking out every villain in wonderland unfortunately means she deserves a Kill order.

Wow, it's really weird having people discuss a character you made this much. As I said, what little I know about the QM's plans really make me want to give him a space manipulation power, but we are still halfway through the turn still and may have to prioritize Yara and Homer anyway.

About this vote, talking with Monarch seems best, but I'm also fine with just letting her pay respects; which comes more from my opinions on the rights a person should have than any considerations on the politics of Monarch's appearance. I think being better would involve accepting this honestly even if there are ulterior motives involved; she already suffered an undeserving punishment out of fear of what her powers represent, are we going to repeat this logic?

Of course, talking to her can potentially let us have our cake and eat it too, but that would need a compelling write-in and I would only have time to come up with something later today.

The best hero against a Super Psychic is another Super Psychic.

That said, leaning towards the Talking option. We can't risk a fight here, and lending them legitemacy would be a massive blow against us.

Just, remember we to do this mission next turn, as this might net us two new recruits, sponsorship and info on Socialite Butterfly.
Firstly we're doing Hero Worship this turn rather than the next, I think you mean you want to do Reality Check next?

Second, while you're right that we do get big benefits, with sponsorship especially needed for us, keep in mind that by taking in one metahuman and one T10 candidate, we're essentially filling up 2 spots which we have 3 left. While Global Action on expanding Apiary mitigates that, that's also one action we're filling that's not doing something else and is spending resources on it. This is not me discouraging from taking the mission, just me pointing out consequences.

Granted, considering our money problems, it's a valid idea to press Reality Check for turn 4 depending on the end results of Hero Worship and our other personal actions.

Very nice! A variant on Counterstrike's power! +1!
@Bitterman so does Soraia just not know their gender or….
There are multiple forms of address for non-binary folks. Mendicant isn't the "Mx." type and they never finished med school. So I went with "Ms.". Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Negative trait: literally was a serial killer.
He wasn't a serial killer! He was heavily involved in gang violence and killed cartel members indiscriminately. Think the Punisher, but worse.
... @Bitterman when the vote opens, is it possible for us to do a write-in for Talk, or is it the kind of thing that simply can't be improved via that?
There is an optimal path for this conversation. The OPS check will determine if Ellie hits it because it relies on info she knows IC, but you don't have.
Personally I think we should have @Bitterman cook him a few screen time for a certain amount of time before we even consider him for Project Prometheus. I'd maybe give it
Everyone will get screen time moving forward, especially Cain. Having him appear just would have killed the update's pacing.

  3. Is Ten Metahumans the limit for how many we can have?
1. Because she didn't trust anyone else after the Susurration.
2. Yes.
3. For now until you get new bases or expand the Apiary.
