....now im sad. That would be one HELL of a twist, especially if the team DOES continue and fight the good fight. I can just imagine the eventual fight.... heartbraking... and so here lies Lady Leizi... one of the original members of JU...
And then there was one...Poor Moon River.

Why must you shatter my heart into a thousand pieces.
Yeah... She wasn't alone if being backed by 4 metahumans is any indication. She had the Ghost Dragon Triad even before she got the Frozen Throne pieces.
Those four metahumans were all using her as much as she was using them, and the Ghost Dragon Triad kept trying to kill her.

She's a monster, but in another world, she would have been a hero.

I hate it which is probably the point of Lonely

But and this is probably the sticking point Leizi did horrible things too. But she knew when to fold and when to push. She didn't try something she knew was dangerous and spread it to others. For all YQ might be sympathetic when she was backed into a corner she didn't try for a solution. She went for spreading misery.

And besides Leizi was born into life of a criminal. As far as I can tell Yellow Qilin was born out of the life of the Ghost Dragon Triad and grew up .. kinda normally. And she didn't have to go I to the Triad. She could have gone to sell her abilities to Powers or Global Justice or even Justice Unlimited. My predictions if she joined JU... Even if Leizi could have gotten over another connection to their father Yellow Qilin seems the type to be an opportunist and think of herself assuming she didn't die in Movement? She would have taken the opportunity to take over.

By the way a few questions
Are keywords a guide to how powers manifest and are there other things that decide what abilities there are?
What keeps metahumans with cognition or Algernon from playing the stock market or other investing?
Do Algernons have to build things? Could they be detectives or philosophers?
Finally does King have an organization or support team?
Are thereetahumans on the level of King known in places other than Horizon?
Finally any chance we can dig up stuff on Justiciar to rattle Stockpile? ACTUALLY
Any chance there are more things like the Frozen Throne out there in the world?

Moving on to the Debate - counterpoints or topics
White Hawk - Don't know possibly ambition based on Griffith (Where is our Guts Expie?), Talk about why Horae Guard didn't help with Movement, ask for specialties about why Seraph, White Hawk, and Sunlight Knight were sent down
Sunlight Knight - Don't know enough, something involving Elysium, (Could maybe try to goad him into revealing experience on Elysium with metahumans or Behemoth Fights)
Joules- Coward, misogynist, stole Valiant Silvers armor, As highest ranking survivor of Global Justice Why they A) focused on Horizon and B) what were their orders from AGL/CIA/US government like, Why some members *cough* Stackpile were held back and why Justiciar the Captain was there, Just look through
STOCKPILE- short temper, what evidence, Uiara hated her father, what exactly he got the Silver Armor to work with, throw shade on Justiciar, How is his armor not awakening Leviathan

What is Joules powers and Stockpiles Algernon specialty?
Edit: By the way any chance we can send a message to King or Augur and ask about Interlocutor?

Also can we tell Wolong or Trilogy about Monarch's fund source and what will the effects of that be? Better yet can we see their reactions?o_O:)

I can't answer all these, but I can try to answer one.

Keywords could be considered more of an outline for how powers function, with the exact specifics varying. For example, Soldier X has the Regeneration keyword, but hers manifested as her body maintaining its top-tier baseline stats without her needing to work out as opposed to something like regrowing chunks of missing flesh. Black Swan has Fundamental Force Manipulation, but in her case, it specifically manifests as the ability to control gravity. Hyrdrocity has Elemental Manipulation, but his specifically manifests as constantly generating drinkable water from his body that he can't control.

Bitterman decides how the powers manifest, while when we put together powers via Prometheus, we're essentially putting together an outline of how the end-power is supposed to come out.

While I don't mind Yellow Qilin going to live peacefully in a farm somewhere rather than dying, I will strenuously oppose any measure that leaves her inside the city of Horizon or worse, has her join Justice Unlimited. This is because she violated one of the most basic rules of the Evil Overlord List: do not consume an energy field bigger than one's head.

People like that simply cannot be trusted.

Alright, so definetly a concern if Crusade captures anyone whos in the loop, but if she's too quiet during the interview we can probably just put a Shelob clone on her.

Is she an Elysium native? Does Elysium have bugs?

Felt like writing this post cause reasons but let's just say I'm not fond of playing the game of culpability, especially to someone who's basically a kid. A teen to be more exact but still essentially a kid.

She has four metahumans behind her for mental and emotional support? Yeah, four subordinates in a cutthroat world where a hint of weakness could spell death. In a world where there's no such thing as equals, only her and tools to be used, with no room for warmth and support.

You could argue that Lei Zixuan had it worse with evil dad directly looking over her shoulder yet still choose to do right compared to Yellow Qilin. And you'd probably be right, but at the same time, I don't like truly claiming that when we don't actually know her. We don't know her life before becoming the Yellow Dragon-Horse. To what degree did she lead a "normal life" as one of the scions to the head of a mafia. What she was taught and influenced prior. Where her birth mother is throughout all this. She eventually realized the hole she dug herself into, but by then when did she realize that? There comes a point where sometime even if one turns back now, it's too late.

Lady Leizi came as far as she did not merely through her own choices and experience but through her many connections, friends, support, loved ones. Without all that, she could have easily fallen into the same trap as her half-sister. Sometimes it just takes one mistake to fall to ruin.

Now, this isn't me saying she can be redeemed or recruited. At the end of the day, she made her own bed and dug her own hole. She is a villain through and through and one we have to overcome. But at the same time, she's also a kid who's been groomed to act who she was? And essentially made mistakes after mistakes? And taking on stuff too big for her? Eh, I don't know. Like I mentioned before, I'm just not fond of playing singular blame games on someone whose actions sound like spoiled brat behavior if you remove the whole superpower aspect to it all. Lord knows I do stupid shit all the time at her age.

I'm thinking about Printemps being the guy drained when SM died. He's gotta be one of the most recent borrowers, possibly the MOST recent. It's possible Scarlet's power goes by distance, or he gets to choose, but I like the idea that the most recently empowered target get drained because it sets up a fun little pyramid scheme/the Ring incentive where everyone SM empowers is trying to get more people to sign up for the Red Juice Power Boost to stave off their own deaths.

[X] . . . agree to Ellie's offer.

Time to get EB going

[X] . . . accept.

Also the number of revealed Wonderland Villains increased by 3.
Dollman an Algernon-type
Marie Marionete the Blood Bender
Warpstar whose powers are yet to be shown but most likely a spatial manipulator.

[X] . . . agree to Ellie's offer.

Found our anime Mecha pilot.

[X] . . . accept.

I would refuse, but she knows about Ronin, can't really risk her tattling if we arrest her, so it's either work with her or kill her.

I imagine some of the people we will be getting as a result of Cenotaph are going to be part of the refugees that were in the Apiary, since Bitterman said he was going to be including his own Candidates as well as a mix of ours. It's fairly easy for us to screen them as opposed to random strangers on the street and they have much less of a reason to blab.

To be honest, I've gotten so many candidate submissions it's almost entirely going to be them. I have one candidate of my own that's going to be there, but that's it, I think.

What if… the DNA profiles used in Ambrosia had a psychic imprint, similar to Apiary?

You are Mona Merola Morales. And at night, you dream once again.

Horizon, City Of Leviathan's Rest — Location #$^&!@

The card den is smoky, strange, and a bit unsettling. So is the rest of the strange dream-city you see on nights like these. The buildings are inverted, the lights shine golden, and sometimes you see faceless crowds running through the street.

But the company is definitely awesome. No complaints.

Across from you, a dark-skinned woman throws a pair of cards down, followed by another two pairs. She grins, before turning to her colleague and drawling in a deep accent. "Got any threes?"

The infamous Soldier X of the Defiance Unit is exactly as menacing as you expected… and weirdly lucky at cards. Seriously, you all checked that the cards were well shuffled. She still wins most of the time.

The woman next to her sighs. "No. I don't. Go fish. And can ask Lamar as your first move for once?"

Next to Soldier X is her equally infamous menacing teammate, Crimson Soprano. Or as you've learned to call the older woman, Bidu.

She rolls her eyes. "Speaking of, Lamar, got any sixes?"

The last person at the table other than you is the invincible man himself, Steadfast. In another life, he probably would have been your mentor figure. Something to think about. Or maybe not think about too hard— he's already told you to tell Stockpile that he's so disappointed.

"Go fish. X, do you have any threes?"

The woman without a name groans, before throwing over a three of hearts. Steadfast throws down a pair with a grin. "Alright Mona, your turn. How's your day been?"

You've been having these dreams… about once every other night, with the exception of that one time when you dreamed about Valiant Silver. These dreams are… different, somewhat. They have the same dreamy, almost psychedelic feeling like back when you talked with Apiary. Thankfully, this one spawned you near the rest of your DNA donors instead of Novalight, who seems to hate you with a burning passion. (You've spent a concerning amount of time outflying her. It's gotten easier since you fought Scarlet Maturity, but still.)

You take a look at your hand, and throw down a pair of fives before looking up. "I went on patrol with New Dawn today! It was great, we threw down with some Wonderland villains. I apparently missed out on meeting with some magical girls though, so that's disappointing."

Bidu whistles. It's a pleasant, melodic sound. "Damn, there's never a calm day when it comes to you, Swan. Is Dreamcatcher jealous of you for getting to see us every other day?"

You laugh. Anything but. "No, he says that it's "scary" that I have to spend time around X and Bidu- no offense guys- and that he thinks that Novalight speaking from the dead to chew him out would be one of his worst nightmares."

Steadfast groans. "Oh, I don't blame him. Spending more time around Yelena than necessary is like actively killing yourself. I'm pretty sure that Heavenly Astrologian is only getting rest now that she's dead…"

You ask Bidu for a one— nothing. The game moves on, but your conversation continues. "Oh, and that reminds me! We actually recruited someone new- they call her Noelle Han. Though she just prefers to be called Ellie."

His eyes widen, and for once in a while, he actually looks surprised. "Han… wait, you hired her kid?!"

That gets Bidu to stop mid-play. "Wait, that Heavenly person had a kid? What is it with single moms and being heroes? First Solferina, then her."

You just shrug. "Honestly? I dunno. It's great to be a hero, but being a mom is also definitely a full-time job. But we're looking to put Ellie in the EXCEED-BEYOND suit, or at least considering it."

Soldier X raises an eyebrow, before speaking. "That might be helpful if you can get it done soon. The villains in Wonderland are no joke, and having her along might be helpful if you travel back in time again. You might meet past us, or even King for all we know."

"It could be different," Steadfast interrupts, "Maybe Mona's just meeting all the captains of the different hero teams. She could learn from Justiciar, or even a calmer Novalight—"

"Novalight's a bitch." The two Defiance Unit members say at the exact same time.

Steadfast rolls his eyes and scoffs, but he doesn't seem hostile at all. "…no disagreement here on my part."

You smile, and continue playing as the game slowly draws to a close. You've definitely gotten to know an interesting group of people after getting your Ambrosia, but in all honesty? You wouldn't give up these strange bonds you've made for anything.

You are Rhys Gardner. The night is cool, and you dream.

Horizon, City Of Leviathan's Rest — The Apiary

"Oh, you really think the rules that I think we need are so useless?"

"No, I— hic— just think that 47 volumes is a bit much."

There aren't many "slow days" in Horizon, much less in the Apiary. But when there are, you can often find a Justice Unlimited member walking about, and they're usually all very sociable.

You may or may not be biased by the fact that Lady Leizi is your boss.

But the JU member that you're talking to right now is very sociable. Adamant clearly learned good manners from his dad. He's a polite drunk, weirdly enough.

He leans back on his chair, just barely not falling off. If the passing crowds are surprised that there's a bar of all places on the Apiary, they aren't showing it. "Seriously though, I'm glad Chatelet joined. Man, if only she was around during my heyday in Justice Unlimited."

"Yeah, I figured you'd say that.

Wait… who's—

Oh. You must be dreaming again. When was the last time one of these fever dreams happened? Like, last week?

Ah well, at least you aren't like Mona. If you had a chance of coming face to face with someone like Justiciar, or god forbid Primtemps, you'd never want to sleep again. Adamant's pretty cool, and The Outsider and Daggermaw are also very nice… when they're there.

You blink, and for a split second you're in your white combat form. You blink again, before returning to your civilian form- this time, with pants.

"Oh, did you guys find my secret stash? Y'know, the boat?" Adamant asks.

"Yeah, we did. We got Wolong to do all these calculations, and Miss Naught suggested just blowing up the thing and grabbing the cabin. There were also some Gold-Rank Behemoths, but Mona blew them up pretty easily."

He smiles, content. "That's good, we can probably fund more Ambrosia and maybe even fix up the Apiary with the bounty. And speaking of Ambrosia, in all honesty I'm amazed that adding my dad to Mona's DNA mix made her a…"

"Supermassive black hole that can kill Scarlet Maturity?"

You see his expression momentarily darken when you mention the red brute (you don't blame him, you'd do the same) but he recovers momentarily. "Yeah, that. Oh, and were any of the DNA samples I put in there usable?"

You're about to answer that, when you realize something. "Wait, we can only use dead people in Ambrosia, I think. How did you even know to put those people in there…?"

He just shrugs, metal shoulders slightly creaking. "Uiara set up a blood drive once, and don't tell Leizi, but me and Nora may have snatched a random selection from heroes with AB+ blood that donated. There was probably a blood selection or two that Leizi discarded once she saw the name."

Yup. That sounds reasonable enough, if a bit weird. You should probably ask about how long Project Prometheus was in progress later- the edges of the bar are starting to fray, and you've gotta get some real sleep. "I mean, most of the DNA samples were all usable. I pity the poor candidate who's gonna have to deal with Frostbite when they go to sleep."

Adamant nods in sympathy. "Yeah, elemental armor's definitely going to go in a few combos." he hums in thought, before his eyes turn deadly serious as he turns to you. "Oh, and one last thing before I gotta go. Did anyone see what was in the package I sent to Zixuan?"

You immediately shake your head, and have to turn it around after it goes all the way back. "Nope! She shooed all of us out of the room. What is it? Anything important to the project?"

Adamant just shakes his head, but he has a knowing look in his eyes now. "It's a personal gift from me, but I think that's something she should tell you personally. Tell her I love her, and that she shouldn't get too hung up on me. Pretty sure that she already got my message, but just in case."

You nod in confirmation, and the smiling silhouette of Adamant and the seats of the bar fade away into black as the dream ends.

Author's Note:
This will actually be the first part of a trilogy! Once I have more time, I'm going to make an episode where Adamant survived instead of Leizi, and one where different plans for Ambrosia (Chimera, Sucker Punch, whatever loses for John) won out. Look forward to more episodes of Stage Slightly To The Left!

This Omake was brought to you by me watching "Marvel's What If?" I was inspired, and had some free time while I was waiting for votes on my end.

Given that her power lets her engrave abilities into things, maybe we can give her a prison job boosting/enhancing equipment by engraving characters onto it?

and Palisade suggested just blowing up the thing and grabbing the cabin.
It was Miss Naught that was on the mission with us, not Palisade.
As an aside, I really wish this was canon, if only so we can drag Novalight's name through the mud while Mona becomes her but a thousand times better while her ghost screams in agony.

I really gotta do that back issue about the Susurration to explain how Novalight became who she was, but there's so much in it now that I think I'm gonna make it a possible Fill-in issue.

Good enough segue: With this new extra information on "The Interlocutor", do you (readers/voters) feel like that maybe going to do the Uiara Fill-In would be good? Or do we still want to go Towarri to get more information on the Philosophers?
