Wolong's right— bro looks dumb rn.
Yeah... Plus that name is such a mouthful, couldnt he IDK call himself Valiant Tri-Edge/Trinity or something? Doesnt really matter, its bad and and we WILL make him feel bad.
Silvio (I'm not calling him that other name) must be looking dumb rn.
BARS!
Aw damn. Looks like we've gotta get Chihiro on…

And 2 AP PER WONDERLAND MISSION??? Aw hell, there goes the dreams of AP Heaven…

The only thing worse than AP Hell, AP modifications! Who boy, I know this Collective subconscious wants Meet the Rookies, Cenotaph and Break the glass at minimum, but that hit to rep hurts. And who knows what the Wonderland missions will do now. BSwan has a patrol she needs to do and LL has Info to search as promised. Here's hoping we get a LOT of info thanks to that nat 20.
Also, nice to see ya Kermie.

We do not know what it is though people are theorizing its some form of telekinesis (tactile?), we don't know the third tag (though if telekinesis people are theorizing Energy Manipulation), and we do not know if the two tags we do know are 1 use or 2.
Bitterman said there is also a hint to what the power is, and this is what we have from Gabriel:
It was missing something, but it nearly felt familiar . . .
So it is a synergy that a New Dawn member has, or at least is a power that Gabriel knows. Clairvoyance is somewhat associated with psychics. And we do know a prominent New Dawn psychic, Valkyrie. She's explicitly described as having telekinesis and telepathy. The enhanced strength is where my guess for telekinesis came from, as Chatroom had already demonstrated telepathy with clairvoyance + ally empowerment.

Not a confirmation of the power or even the third tag, but that's my 2 cents on the matter. I wonder if we might first try to get this synergy for John at medium cost to figure out the exact formula for the next time we need to prepare a 13 potency combo.

She's recruitable. She didn't originally exist until I realized it made no sense that Yara could last three turns without any help. And it's something Yazmin would have done.
Also this is probably the biggest reason to do Hero Worship this turn. there were already worries that her bodyguard would die, leading to the expiration period. Now that she's outright recruitable going for them now to help guarantee she lives and to get more heroes early is a good thing.

This is a ways away, but I've had this idea for Yara's hero name if and when we power her up:

So Yazmin took the name "Uiara" because it's an alternate version of "Yara".

What if we flipped that on it's head? And make Yara's hero name "Jasmine".

It's a sweet and tender sounding name, and it's also the name of a princess who was kept in a castle when she wanted to see the world.

Bookkeeping/Planning question:

Let's assume that there exists base power tags A, B, C, D, and E.

Let's also assume that two combos we know are A + B + C = Synergy X, and A + D + E = Synergy Y.

If our DNA cocktail had two copies of A, then one each of B, C, D, and E, one copy of A would go into Synergy X and one into Synergy Y, correct?

Here's an important question: do we ask Wolong for help in figuring out a power during or after we do our usual planning? Like, do we put in what we're going to ask him as part of our turn plan, or do we just ask him later in the turn during Personal Actions or something?

Also I might have an omake planned for Ibis's memo to Wolong giving him our data to work on, does Wolong know that Ibis is alive and working on Prometheus or is he still in the dark and assumes he's dead?

Depends on what build you're going for, but the above is possible, sure.

It's part of the Project Prometheus action. You'll get to ask before you vote on a plan.

He's fully read in now.

Well, Wolong has been let in on the Prometheus project. Presumably, he knows, or if he doesn't for some reason, then he's going to be let in. I mean, we needed an Algernon-type Metahuman to handle the issues of making Ambrosia, and there are only so many of those with applicable specializations around. There really isn't a point to keeping Ibis' status a scret from Wolong.

EDIT: Ninja'd by the GM, Wolong knows.

Was my top choice yeh though to bot completely copy Uirra and since Yara is a P13,

I wanted to go with a naming style like Black Swans.

Jasmine Wreath

Jasmine as flower and color then a wreath for a flower crown. Fits with Black Swan and Color and description.

We already had to deal with Toei and you guys want Disney on our asses as well!?

More seriously, Uiara is the indigenous mother of the waters*, so a name in a similar vein would depend on Yara's power set as well.

*Anything other than "goddess of the waters" is post-colonial, and anything that makes Uiara a mermaid is doubly so.

Memo From Dr. Mammoth Ibis To Gabriel Kwan - ScorpioSting
We already have a character who messes with perception naming themselves after a plant in Foxglove, even if for her it's in direct reference to the pollen-based vector. If we go with Yara as our super psychic, I think it would be fitting.

But this is months away. I'm just spitballing.

Anyway, the memo didn't take too long to do!

Memo From Dr. Mammoth Ibis To Gabriel Kwan, an Omake by ScorpioSting
I was informed that you would be assisting in processing Ambrosia through your ability. Lady Leizi and Joelle Chaucer asked me to prepare a brief summary of our two Project Prometheus successes at this point, to give your ability data points to work off of. This is prompt and tossed off, as I have other work I am focusing on, including the cataloging of Valiant Silver's laboratory and all of it's components, as well as figuring out how Scarlet Maturity's ability is interfering with Prinptemp's sample. But I will still be as thorough as I can:

Mona Merola-Morales, aka "Black Swan"

Used Samples: Novalight, Crimson Soprano, Steadfast, Soldier X

Power Summary: Mona's body is a false energy shell around a hyperdense core, with the ability to manipulate gravity to fly. Her blasts of energy launch matter at relativistic speeds, expending her body. She can regenerate this from absorbing radiation. The core is also extremely durable owing to it's high densities.

Personal Observations: The flight ability comes courtesy of both Novalight and Crimson Soprano. The durability came from Steadfast, no question about it. The higher potency of the combination as a whole supercharged Soldier X's regenerative ability to stay in top form.

The largest part, however, came from how Novalight's photo and radiokinesis mixed with Crimson Soprano's energy blasts and ability to absorb solar energy. This resulted in her ability to control gravity, one of the fundamental forces.

Rhys Gardner, aka "Handyman"

Used Samples: Outsider, Adamant, Daggermaw, Soldier X

Power Summary: Rhys's body has been turned into a substance we have dubbed 'clay'. Rhys can shape this as he wishes, and create more if he loses some through injury or removing it from his system. Rhys can create almost infinite organic, animal components: chitin, bone, feather, fur, secondary organs, the works. He can also make constructs, such as organic pilebunkers insides his arms to strengthen punches, or rudimentary crossbows that shoot arrows made of bone. Owing to it's elasticity, he can also stretch out his limbs to reach far away. He can grow to about 20 feet in height before he becomes too brittle to move, or shrink and become more dense. He can reliable imitate people, down to the voices. Lastly, he has enough strength to throw a car.

Personal Observations: The strength comes from Adamant and Daggermaw both having it in their powersets, and it's greater than either of them individually. But the bulk of this powerset is one large synergy. Outsider and Adamant's ability to control and shape their bodies (possibly a hint of Daggermaw's dysmorphic condition, too), Adamant and Soldier X's regenerative abilities, Soldier X's peak human condition… it's all mixed to create perfect control of himself.

Make good use of this.

Side note, I had a mild PR Plan for the Chihiro interview, obviously subject to change from Fill-In Issue info:

Leizi: Her job is to project strength as the new leader. Look determined, hopeful, intelligent, and calm. Most of those should be easy to do.
Mona: Charm offensive. Be sweet, and funny, and brave. Talk about how much she looked up to Justice Unlimited, and that she's giving her all.
Opale: Explain why the Four Seasons are no longer active, call Gwen a transphobe, and give testimony on the Faust/Scarlet Maturity stuff to lend the online Moon River rumors credibility.
Rhys: Stay in silver mode. Code name only. Transform into Chihiro or one of the others to explain his abilities and why he's not giving out his private info yet.
Maddie: Most mixed on. She could talk about Clovis Laurent ruining her life, but Leizi saving her as a #Inspirational story, but that might feel like... exploitation.
Looking back over this, I think most of it does hold up. I think Maddie should be willing to talk about how Leizi saved her to launder our reputation. We can have Leizi give out the "Project Prometheus was our internal codename for our rookie hero talent scouting and development plan" line we talked about with a side note of "Silvio, do you admit to spying on us?". Opale can use her story of Gwen's abuse to try and get her banned from Crusade or at least force them to put out that fire for a bit.

BTW do you guys think saving anansi is gonna be a requirement for the merge with ND to ensure we retain all their heroes?

Its ine thing to fail people under your protection afterall its something all heroes inevitably have to bear with.

Its another to fail a teammate who basically got kidbapped and forced to join another group with you and your team unable to do anything about it.

Even if the chaos of the movememnt and depleted ranks made it understandable.

Hey, been a lurker for some time and decided to try my hand at a powerset for John.

Red Huntress (6)
Mister Hunch (1)
Daggermaw (1)
Millions Minefield (1)
Clairvoyance ×2, Energy Manipulation ×2
Transformation ×2, Enhanced Senses ×2
Enhanced Speed ×1, Enhanced Strength x1,
Fitness ×1, Invisibility ×1

So, the big thing here is Red Huntress scaling ability, something that could make a low-tolerance candidate useful in high-end fights, even if in a limited way.

From the description of the Huntress powers, I would say Clairvoyance is most likely a component of her targeted scaling and maybe Energy Manipulation or Transformation? Not sure. This combination was the cheapest way I found to add another instance of each tag. (Daggermaw also brought Enhanced Senses and Enhanced Strength as a bonus, so we might benefit from that Strenght + Clairvoyance synergy).

A mostly unintencional but cool thing about the build is how it preserves the "hunting" theme of the original Huntress. Daggermaw has predatory animal powers, while Hunch and MM powers suit a hunter in a more "knowing the terrain and setting traps" kind of way. Which is a deviation from the Red Huntress animalistic "beast-hunting-beast" style, but a more "human-hunting-beast" theme fits John character better.

There is a nice parallel between humans using traps and smart thinking to hunt physically superior beasts and John, as a low potency metahuman, making use of a strategy-heavy powerset to compete with the big players. Works really well with his high OPS too.

Anyways, this is a 9 potency powerset (6 with the reduction) so it would need another Spoonful of Sugar or some alterations.

I have a hunch that, as one of the more vague and ill-defined tags, Energy Manipulation might end up being the tag that sees the most use in combos.

Its one of the most versatile tag ranging from barrier, blast, blade and so on.

How it works is really more about the other tags shaping it.

Though as Millions shows even just alone its powerful.

by the way I had this mental image of Nora making an "Aquatic Mode" for EXCEED that was just her slapping an oxygen tank and breathing mask onto it, then going "wait no, she probably had Uiara make a pocket of air with her hydrokinesis around her face, or made it herself with Scissors Mode telekinesis if she was involved in any water-based missions".
