My Life as a Teenage Juggernaut... (Worm AU x Marvel)

My preferred method is simple, and possibly even Dennis-proof: put the milk, butter and cheese powder in a bowl. Add the macaroni. Add just enough water to cover the pasta. Microwave for 9 minutes, 30 seconds.
If you can find a Rapid Mac and Cheese cooker, then an even simpler way to make creamier mac and cheese is to leave out the water, add pasta then milk to the level indicated for the water plus butter, cook as directed, then stir in the powder. Perfectly safe and works every time.

Meh, he's not too dangerous - after all, every member of the E88 and Hydra Galstraft has dropped him at least once...

getting rid of Behemoth @ Co that easily
AH, but no-where is it written that 'dealing with' Eidolon will end the threat of Endbringers - They do have minds of their own (mostly) so there's no guarantee that at least one won't still be a massive jerk or murderous nutjob once free anyway...

Nice. Though now I wonder if high schools have a Shop or Industrial Studies class. They used to, and if Arcadia has one, then having Juggernaut strength available for blacksmithing could produce some very interesting results. As well as accuracy and precision use of strength training. If her fingers are slender enough to handle some of the nooks and crannies - auto repair would be fairly handy for a Juggernaut to learn. Just being able to reinforce frames and install bigger shocks and struts...

Honestly, Idiot Ball has so much potential for causing all sorts of upsets using his power. Imagine if he'd hit Bakuda a few times with that.

Apologies for the spaghetti posting...

@Kryslin
It seems strange and feels strange for taytay to dismiss what her power tells her (the eidolon thing) and not report it to anyone.... As far as she knows her power points her correctly, also eidolon is immune to thinker powers, so a thinker aspect of a power pointing at him should raise some flags in her head (if she knows about the immunity).

Maybe some more explaining and exposition could help make it feel less forced.

aside from that nice Chappie as always!

The thing to remember is that it's not QA narcing on Eidolon, it's Cytorrak (aka Angry Punchy Boi, Tyrant overlord of strength, etc.) He's not bound by the same rules as the shards are.

S9 enforcing the truce ?,is it an au thing ?

I don't know what they do in Australia (internet country code .au), but here, it was a one time thing. It happened close by to where the Nine were, and Sibby paid the man a visit.

I take QA would be the reasonable one here (with the frying pan)?

Yep! Have an internet!

I absolutely love the fact that Taylor got an image of 'punching Eidolon as hard as you can' when she pictured the target needed to stop the Endbringers.

The only question is, was that a bit of snarky humor on Kryslin's part, or a Chekov's Gun? With this troll of an author, we'll have to wait and see.

Honestly, I hope it was just played for laughs; getting rid of Behemoth @ Co that easily would be a bit of a let-down. Funny as hell, no question, but disappointing at the same time.

Let's try to look at it from her perspective. She's not even sixteen, has had her powers for a most a few weeks, and is still getting used to them. On top of that, she's bought into the PR that Cauldron has implemented; like 95% of the rest of Earth Bet, she believes that Eidolon is a Hero. To have her power suggest otherwise has her going 'Wait WHAT!?' at the moment, so she's setting it aside.

That's not to say that she won't be thinking about it on the side; she's got more than a bit of cognitive dissonance to get through first.

Bit of snark, bit of troll, bit of loaded weapon left out where the kids can find it. Also, see that patch of shadows over there ahead of us?

It's not exactly played for laughs, and remember to Cytorrak, every problem is a nail to be pounded down. And, as you'll find out in a month, she does take it a bit more seriously, and reports it. It'll fit in better when there's some context from people who were also at the Endbringer battle. Plus, it allows me to introduce Dragon to the story. :)

Oh, I knew it wasn't just for laughs, though there is a bit of the Kryslin brand of humor (i.e. understated) there, just a little out of reach. I honestly didn't expect you to chime in though; I was mostly just putting my thoughts down.

It's nice that she is sitting on it though; better demonstrates Taylor's intelligence. Something that hack Wildbow squandered in canon.

Apologies for the double post.

I'm up to several Insightful tags on an earlier post; didn't think my logic was all that impactful.

This is why I love Sufficient Velocity; when a poster makes a valid argument, people give them Kudos for it. All too rare on the internet, that.

Honestly, Idiot Ball has so much potential for causing all sorts of upsets using his power. Imagine if he'd hit Bakuda a few times with that.

Who says he didn't? Bakuda's approach to things could have brought the entire Triumvirate to deal with her if BB hadn't done so quickly enough.

Of course, if they did show up, they'd be nabbing her for Cauldron. Those bombs seem significantly more powerful than most Tinkers can manage.

@Kryslin It's always a tightrope when balancing between the comedy and serious elements, so it can be hard to know how the characters will deal with a line like "punch Eidolon". It's nice to know it isn't a throwaway line, though.

I kinda wonder if the cooking thing isn't Dennis's fault. Like a really weird power side effect? Although he seems to have good control of it, and i'm not sure how time stop could cause that. Cause the have to wear heavy duty protection while cooking is rather extreme. And while he may clown and goof around he seems at least smart enought to follow the instructions on a box of mac n' cheese.

Accidentally "time stop" the water, it still heats up to boiling temp, but does not boil. This can lead to a water explosion.

Some people are just really bad at cooking. I've known people who literally manage to burn water on a regular basis, and somehow started a kitchen fire making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on bread (not toast).

Seeing how as this seems to be leaning on the 'for laughs' scale so far, I don't really see you executing Eidolon to stop the Endbringers, however Taylor's steps are vague enough that rules of Prophecy can apply.

"Punch Ediolon as hard as you can" doesn't say anything about circumstances, and Eidolon's power is basically "whatever power the plot demands I have". So if he's got a power up that absorbs kinetic damage at the time, that's suddenly a whole lot of power available for whatever twist you want to apply it to. If I had to guess, I'd say he'll be harvesting the Unstoppable Force when the time comes for him to be hit. Other options include him tanking the hit unharmed with an exotic barrier, but tanking the hit drains his power enough to either reboot him, and the Endbringers reset back to the standby they're supposed to be at, or the Endbringers turn off for power conservation. Just a friendly spar/duel and Taylor being that strong redirects his subconscious 'need a good fight' mania from Endbringers to Taylor so they stop attacking since he's not giving them attack orders anymore. Or he spends all his time with Thinker powers up trying to analyze Edens corpse to discover where Taylors agent came from, and the distraction is enough for him to not trigger an attack.

My point is, the possible subversions are many, and while punching somebody as hard as she can might at a glance seem like instructions to kill somebody, there are options.

Sounds like that stovetop is gas, and he dumped the powder in, sloppily, before adding any water. Dust explosion - Wikipedia

The woman who set a pot of water on fire(metal pot, in the microwave, creating an induced current that separated the water into hydrogen and oxygen. Eventually, there was enough gas when there was a spark) would make a good cooking partner, if the goal were destruction and entertainment. There's a reason the first episode of each season of "Worst Cooks in America" can be so fun to watch. Note: that show isn't cruel or mocking. The goal really is to teach them enough to not be a menace in the kitchen. The first episode is to establish that, yes, they really are that bad.
But...the ones with the powder have you put the powder in AFTER you remove it from heat. You boil the noodles, TURN OFF THE HEAT, drain the noodles into a strainer, add water and (optionally) butter to the pan, heat slightly while stirring to melt the butter if you put some in, TURN OFF THE HEAT, return the noodles to the pan, add the cheese powder, and stir.

If he were following the directions properly, there wouldn't have been an explosion, though as I mentioned in a later comment, I've also seen one where you cook the cheese sauce separate from the pasta, then combine.

That actually won't do anything. When Clockblocker locks an item in time all of the molecules stop moving too, so heat wouldn't have any effect on it.

See, that can't possibly be true. If it was, then anything he used his power on would be locked in one position in space as the planet moved away from it at incredible speeds. Shards also can't manipulate time, any time manipulation they appear to do so is pure trickery using dimensional shenanigans. Since Clockblocker isn't causing people and objects to go spinning off into space every time he uses his power, it can't be a complete freeze of all movement. Hell, if he was completely freezing all movement like that, he'd be killing anyone he used that power on for longer then a few seconds because they would be unable to breath and their blood would be unable to flow.

The Demon Cytorrak would certainly consider taking on all (and I do mean all) Endbringers to be a great fight. If there is a shard in this mix, that's probably who/what whacked it on the conceptual back of its head.

Incidentally, it's not wrong about punching "Eidelweiss" as hard as she can, but how would it know? I'm seriously asking.

If Clockblocker's stasis effect were Rhapsody In Relative Inertia you'd be correct. Dennis' stasis effect does not cancel the target's inertia for that very reason.

(Rhapsody In Relative Inertia is a rather devastating spell applicable to Amber Diceless Roleplay and depicted in all its catastrophic glory courtesy of Jalura Dequesne in the Amber/Daria crossover fic More Real Than Real. In her own words, "it puts a target at rest relative to the rest of the universe. Unfortunately for the target, the rest of the universe keeps on moving. Few things are capable of surviving a planet-load of impact, friction..." I should add that the Fire Angel she hit with it was not in stasis and was pulverised by the Earth shoving against it.)

I get what you mean here, I really do, but you are forgetting that Taylor has Infinite Kinetic Energy, she can not be slowed down at all, if Eidolon tries to absorb her energy, it will scale faster than the shard can handle. Since somehow I don't think the shard can absorb infinitely scaling Infinite energy.
