I have a devious idea. Mami goes all Tetris because Witches = Evil Abominations, in her mind, and magical girls becoming Witches is too much for her to bear. So~ooo...let's get her to pity Witches (or at least see them as people instead of mindless or actively evil monsters). Then, if/when she gets Witchbombed, she'll think:
[Witches are Broken and Sad; They're lashing out because they're in pain.]
[Magical Girls are Whole and Happy]
[If Witches are Magical Girls, then they just need to be healed.]
She'll still be fucked up for a while about all the Witches she has killed, but I'll take Sad Mami over Genocide Mami any day.

I think I first started coming across references to PMMM a few years back. Pegged it as "quintessential magical girl crap" and ignored it.
Then I actually started getting interested in QMGC anime (via Ranma fukufics), and I figured it'd be worth looking into PMMM further. After all that depressing Worm dystopian drama, it'd be nice to have some cheerful upbeat alternative reading material, right? ...Right?
So I ran a few Google searches and was immediately traumatised for life. I think it was one of the animated gifs of Mami's hanging body that broke me. I swore on my hard drive's excessively oversized collection of totally legal movies to never again touch this sadistic tearjerking monstrosity. And I managed to keep this promise...
...up until I came across a "catgirl quest" set in PMMM. "Hmm," I thought, "anything starring kitties can't possibly be as horrible as PMMM canon. Let's give it a try." And I read, and I read, and I read... and then I reached the bit about Homura's mama. And I suddenly found myself getting through way too much tissue paper.

Anyway, I'm now completely hooked, and I just caught myself searching SV for other PMMM quests. This despite knowing perfectly well that I'll only be torturing myself and adding to the world's supply of Grief Seeds. Hell, I've already read past the first horrific death in SayakaQuest and I still can't stop. And it's all. Your. Fault.
The cat GIFs are pretty neat though.
