Meow Quest (PMMM Catgirl!Homura)

Now that the quest is over could we get sort of a meta post explaining some things the characters wouldn't know, like what exactly happened to the Incubators after Homura trashed the giant one, what was the deal with Madoka's mom going berserk when seeing Kyubey and so forth?
 
the madoka mom thing might be because in some continuyies Madoka's mom is a witch so old and powerful that she regained her lost humanity fell in love and had Madoka but that timeline is to strange to be that for one that madoka was born with a soul gem/grief seed embeded in her chest over her heart

Data gathered during the attempted extermination of Amura made them withdraw to deliberate.
The Incubator Hive Mind then exploded.

As for Madokamom, she had a traumatic experience as a kid involving her friends and Magical Girls. It traumatized her to the point that her other friend used a wish to fix her.
Madokamom doesn't remember either friend anymore, but some echoes of the trauma remain.

So, how much content DID we miss, while we were busy catting about?
 
@TheBleachDoctor now that Meow Quest is done, if you still have a cat-shaped hole in your soul, here are some ideas food for thought.

1. The story of a fairy cat and her bumbling 'wizard master'. The wizard is a Bertie Wooster expy, and our feline heroine is in the Jeeves role.

2. Amura didn't really explore what it's like to be human. What would the story of a cat-were, or a fairy cat that won the ability to turn human from another fairy be like? If you made an honest fairy tale, what would your fae and setting be like?

3. Your character eats the Neko-Neko no Mii and gains the ability to turn into a cat. Or a cat eats the same fruit Chopper ate and can turn human.

Falling into the Spring of Drowned Kitten / Spring of Drowned Girl (as appropriate) could serve the same results.

4. Recycle All-Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku-Nuku's plot and write about a scientist who installs an injured/sick/runt cat into a combat gynoid 1) to save the poor cat's life, 2) to express how strongly to his superiors how strongly he objects to building 'combat gynoids'.

At least two plot threads I had prepared, but you got pets from Pink Girl so it all balances out in the end.

It's okay. I currently have a real cat to fill the void.
He's a talkative fur boy.
 
This was certainly interesting (and also pretty cat), but it was a fun read, even though I didn't have much time to participate in the finale. Still, seeing Amura just making the Incubators lose their cool and eventually go SPLAT was A LOT satisfying.

Never underestimate the cat! Next thing you know, they end up ruling the world without even having to rule it. Why? Because cats that's why!

Thanks for the ride @TheBleachDoctor, you deserve this.

You hop off of Madoka's lap and pad away.

"Homura-chan, where are you going?" she asks, reaching out for you.

'Gonna cheer big sister up,' you answer, then walk right past Mami into the kitchen.

Ah, the ice tower. The tower of ice. Milk is inside. You know it. You've seen it.
Popping back into Human form, you look for a way to open the tower of ice. How do?
It swings open sideways...
You pull at the side. Nothing?
Maybe the other way?
Eureka.

You retrieve the milk carton from the refrigerator. You have the vague feeling of a cosmic prophecy being fulfilled.
Now... how do you open the thing?

You are Best Cat. You should be able to do this...
You grab the top. You know that milk comes out from here. How? How is it removed?

Impatient, you puncture the cap with your Best Cat claws, find a saucer, and pour milk into it.

Heading back out in the living room, you kneel down next to Mami.

"Here, Big sister Mami," you cheerfully offer the milk, "Milk is good! Makes you feel better, calms you down!"

She stares incredulously at the milk, before giggling, then laughing.

You blink in surprise. She doesn't want the milk?

"Th-Thank you, Homura-san," she shakily accepts the milk, laughing, "I...I... Haha... Hahaha...."

What was that (the colored text) about? It didn't seem to me like something directly related to the quest.

And for the record: that's my favorite update in this quest.

Heh, it is rather cute, isn't it?
As for the colored text, I don't actually remember what I meant at the time, but I suspect it had something to do with cats being able to retrieve treats that they previously relied on Humans for.

    • Your name is Amy Percival Venticus Akemi, but everyone calls you Homura for short. You are known to all as Best Cat, the fluffiest of the fluffy, the cuddliest of the cuddles!
    Also you're a Magical Cat to put all other Magical Cats to shame.
    You would say that you're the warmest of the warm, but sadly this isn't the case. It is cold today, and the cold white puffs are falling from the sky!
    Pink Girl says that it's called "snow" but you doubt that. Best Cat instincts tell you it is white cold puff, so white cold puff it is.

    It is similarly cold inside Pink Girl's home, a small apartment the two of you live in in a place called "Tokyo". She moved there a year ago to start her new job at a fashion company.
    Pink Girl has been awfully sad to leave her friends behind, but they still talk to each other on the bright flashy screen, so you don't see what the issue is.
    After all, she has you there to keep her company! And Best Cat is the best at that.

    "Nya," you mewl to the empty house, looking up from your favorite corner of the couch. This is a place you dwell in often, with many small purple blankets and pillows marking it as your domain.

    Oh, but yes! It is cold today. The heater is broken. Pink Girl Madoka apologized and wrapped you up in blankets before she left, but the blankets have since fallen on the floor from your movement, and you don't want to pick them up.
    Not that you couldn't just turn into your big Human form and do it yourself, but you want Pink Girl to do it for you. But Pink Girl is not here.
    Therefore, it is impossible.

    You can't fix the heater, and you don't know how to turn on the fireplace. If Pink Girl doesn't come back home soon, you'll get too cold to play with her tonight!
    Aha! You know. You'll find another way to warm yourself up! Not only will Best Cat be warm, but Pink Girl Madoka will praise you for your ingenuity, and give you additional treats tonight!
    Treats that you cannot actually procure yourself because she put them in a large jar with something called a "childproof cap", whatever that means.

    No matter, on to the issue of warming. How will you warm your little kitty body?

    Pink Girl Madoka has a warm box in the kitchen that she uses to make her food hot. If you go inside, it will make you warm and hot. A flawless idea!
    There's also the next door neighbor. Opening the balcony doors and hopping over would be a trivial matter, and their heater works!
    Or... you could try to start a fire in the fireplace! Pink Girl Madoka has never used it, therefore it must be a complicated matter and too complex for her dumb Human brain. But you're a smart Best Cat. Obviously such a task is simple for you!

    [] Enter the Warm Box. Become Warm.
    [] Visit the Neighbor for her Heater.
    [] Start a fire.

    H-how did I miss this? Homura as a catgirl? This was something I did not know I needed before and now I have the urge to write an omake where Cat!Homura gets all the pets while Kyuubey looks on with a forlon look. But first let me binge-read through this Quest to catch up.
