By the way, dibs on the first Omake. I was struck by inspiration.
Omake: It Was Such a Nice Day
He could not remember the last time he had this much fun.
The screams and intestines, blood and fear, it was glorious!
Oro the demon finally found a way to enjoy himself again, far away from his kin; he was weak for his kind, the only reason he was still alive the fact he was marginally smarter than the rest of his peers.
Right now, he was having a blast tearing through these puny creatures; they were so small, so fragile.
So broken
Finally, he could be strong. He could torment others instead of being tormented, how wonderful!
While thinking happy thoughts and ripping another of those beings in two, he noticed something; there, partly hidden behind a wall, was another of those things. The rest ran away already, so he would have to search for more to kill... but this one was still there.
Upon noticing his gaze, the creature flinched away and he punched on instict; miss. He barely did not get it crushed.
That one would even be a little challenge! Not that their little appendages would be able to even scratch him, but he liked himself a good chase. Of course it would end in slaughter, but knowing this was half the fun.
Setting off with a challenging roar, Oro pounded after the one that was still alive; it led him to more things to kill, which was good. He did not let himself get distracted that easily, though: those screaming little things were boring in comparison. He wanted to get that one and crush it.
But that one constantly ran and he was busy mulching everything in his wake just because he could. When he finally caught up again, there were others in his way. Taller than most of those he killed so far... maybe the males?
They pointed little sticks at him; pah, as if anything they had could hurt him... terribly. Those metal things stung when they hit, but most just pinged off.
Before he could come close however, Oro's world became
PAIN
It cascaded through his body and made him scream in agony; searing hot pain lanced out from where his eye was supposed to be and his vision became worse. It hurt!
Hot anger bubbled up from within him; it had all been fun and games up until now. He would show them that no one bullied Oro!
He just noticed he still held one of the creatures he killed earlier. That body went ballistic at the enemy that hurt him like this; much to Oro's satisfaction, his attacker was ripped to pieces in a shower of gore when their kin crashed into them.
More metal pinged off of him, leaving scratches and a few deeper cuts; nothing bad, at least not enough to overshadow the pain coming from his lost eye.
He quickly took care of all of them, crushing them one by one even if ripping them apart would have been more fun. Fun time was over.
Then he ripped off the ceiling of whatever place the other one went into; amidst his rage, Oro hoped he did not lose it over the trouble here; this one he wanted to punish for making him hurt. Badly.
And there it was, together with another of those males.
Then there was
... -
Light
-and when he returned to his senses, they were trying to run past him.
Not this time. He snapped out his arm and caught the last male, quickly crushing him into paste; then Oro went back to hunt the other one... only that it was not running.
Heat erupted from it and it screamed back at him in a roar of anguish he knew all too well. Somewhere deep down, Oro applauded the tiny little thing on their anger. Not that he would let it live either way, but this might be interesting.
Despite his missing eye and the aftershocks of whatever that light was, he managed to land a hit on his new opponent and sent it flying far away; everything around it caught fire almost instantly, but those weak flames could not phaze Oro. Whatever new power this one gained, it was untrained. No chance.
Yet it managed to get back up to dodge Oro's follow-up strike. And strike back.
(The Thing: +15 Base Damage, +5 Ignition Aura, + 95 Dice = 115 Total Damage
Oro: + 15 Base Resilience, - 5 Gaping Wounds, - 10 ON FIRE = 0 Total Damage Reduction
Oro Health: 1145- 155 = 990)
PAIN erupted from his knee and the flames became stronger, engulfing him and singing his whole body; Oro screeched in wrath and terror, tumbling backwards from the strength put into this strike.
Just what was this thing?
How did it hurt him like that? That tiny little thing, how much stronger was it?
He held back, even though every fibre of his being urged to go and crush the insolent being.
Then it ran. Realising that this was strength brought forth by despair, Oro grinned in understanding and threw whatever he could grab; it missed, but he quickly resumed the hunt anyway. Whatever it was, it was injured and almost dead; no amount of willpower could keep it up forever.
However, it also had one of those sticks the males were carrying earlier.
(The Thing: +100 Base Damage, -20 Never Done This Before, +15 Semi-Auto, + 71 Dice = 116 Total Damage
Oro: + 15 Base Resilience, - 5 Gaping Wounds, -10 Crippled Knee = +5 Total Damage Added
Oro Health: 1145- 121 = 869)
Aimed shots hit him hard once again, but the pain could no longer phaze him; Oro's previous injuries were already hurting so badly that it was just another nuisance. He just screamed at the thing again, whcih made it turn to flee; something it kept on its person was torn free and promptly caught fire.
Weird, why was it running faster all of a sudden?
In this moment, Oro had a brilliant idea; it was things like these that made him survive the torment of his kin.
Just after passing whatever was in that bundle, he swept it up and threw it after the thing; if it was that concerned about it, why not see what happened now?
Then the bundle exploded with power that Oro had never witnessed before.
(Shrapnel: + 50 Sharp And Going Very Fast = 50 Total Damage
Oro: + 15 Base Resilience, - 5 Gaping Wounds, -10 Crippled Knee, +200 Very Large Surface Area = +205 Total Damage Added
Oro Health: 869- 255 = 614)
Countless pieces of sharp metal burrowed into his body and made pain explode all over him again. He could feel the holes all over his body, aching and burning and... and hurting.
A loud scream reached Oro's ears, but he could not really see what it was about. His vision blacked and he felt his legs give out over the blood loss. No longer capable of holding his weight, he slumped backwards with a loud crunch.
Then he just lay there, staring at the ceiling of whatever this place was. He could no longer move, no longer stand... no longer fight.
Even after surviving into adulthood despite his weaknesses, he was to end in a place so far from home, beaten by something that should not have been capable to do this? Just how did this happen?
Just how had this tiny little thing hurt him so much?
Before he could even start thinking about an answer, Oro felt his skin light up in flames again.
His whole existence becoming pain, he did the only thing he could do.
He screamed.
