Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

I'm going to be completely honest when I say I have no clue where that Invisitext came from O_0
Anyway, thanks. Will update Character Page

Fair enough.
Either way, you can experiment with this; maybe add another tab for those skills you wrote up and maybe make another, almost empty, sheet for Una.
But make sure the formatting stays if you copy this; text colouring and underlined text are not kept through copy&paste.

Canon Omake: Oro's Bad Day
By the way, dibs on the first Omake. I was struck by inspiration.

Omake: It Was Such a Nice Day

He could not remember the last time he had this much fun.
The screams and intestines, blood and fear, it was glorious!

Oro the demon finally found a way to enjoy himself again, far away from his kin; he was weak for his kind, the only reason he was still alive the fact he was marginally smarter than the rest of his peers.
Right now, he was having a blast tearing through these puny creatures; they were so small, so fragile. So broken

Finally, he could be strong. He could torment others instead of being tormented, how wonderful!
While thinking happy thoughts and ripping another of those beings in two, he noticed something; there, partly hidden behind a wall, was another of those things. The rest ran away already, so he would have to search for more to kill... but this one was still there.

Upon noticing his gaze, the creature flinched away and he punched on instict; miss. He barely did not get it crushed.
That one would even be a little challenge! Not that their little appendages would be able to even scratch him, but he liked himself a good chase. Of course it would end in slaughter, but knowing this was half the fun.

Setting off with a challenging roar, Oro pounded after the one that was still alive; it led him to more things to kill, which was good. He did not let himself get distracted that easily, though: those screaming little things were boring in comparison. He wanted to get that one and crush it.
But that one constantly ran and he was busy mulching everything in his wake just because he could. When he finally caught up again, there were others in his way. Taller than most of those he killed so far... maybe the males?

They pointed little sticks at him; pah, as if anything they had could hurt him... terribly. Those metal things stung when they hit, but most just pinged off.
Before he could come close however, Oro's world became PAIN
It cascaded through his body and made him scream in agony; searing hot pain lanced out from where his eye was supposed to be and his vision became worse. It hurt!

Hot anger bubbled up from within him; it had all been fun and games up until now. He would show them that no one bullied Oro!
He just noticed he still held one of the creatures he killed earlier. That body went ballistic at the enemy that hurt him like this; much to Oro's satisfaction, his attacker was ripped to pieces in a shower of gore when their kin crashed into them.

More metal pinged off of him, leaving scratches and a few deeper cuts; nothing bad, at least not enough to overshadow the pain coming from his lost eye.
He quickly took care of all of them, crushing them one by one even if ripping them apart would have been more fun. Fun time was over.

Then he ripped off the ceiling of whatever place the other one went into; amidst his rage, Oro hoped he did not lose it over the trouble here; this one he wanted to punish for making him hurt. Badly.
And there it was, together with another of those males.
Then there was... -
Light
-
and when he returned to his senses, they were trying to run past him.
Not this time. He snapped out his arm and caught the last male, quickly crushing him into paste; then Oro went back to hunt the other one... only that it was not running.

Heat erupted from it and it screamed back at him in a roar of anguish he knew all too well. Somewhere deep down, Oro applauded the tiny little thing on their anger. Not that he would let it live either way, but this might be interesting.

Despite his missing eye and the aftershocks of whatever that light was, he managed to land a hit on his new opponent and sent it flying far away; everything around it caught fire almost instantly, but those weak flames could not phaze Oro. Whatever new power this one gained, it was untrained. No chance.
Yet it managed to get back up to dodge Oro's follow-up strike. And strike back.

(The Thing: +15 Base Damage, +5 Ignition Aura, + 95 Dice = 115 Total Damage
Oro: + 15 Base Resilience, - 5 Gaping Wounds, - 10 ON FIRE = 0 Total Damage Reduction

Oro Health: 1145- 155 = 990)

PAIN erupted from his knee and the flames became stronger, engulfing him and singing his whole body; Oro screeched in wrath and terror, tumbling backwards from the strength put into this strike.
Just what was this thing? How did it hurt him like that? That tiny little thing, how much stronger was it?
He held back, even though every fibre of his being urged to go and crush the insolent being.

Then it ran. Realising that this was strength brought forth by despair, Oro grinned in understanding and threw whatever he could grab; it missed, but he quickly resumed the hunt anyway. Whatever it was, it was injured and almost dead; no amount of willpower could keep it up forever.
However, it also had one of those sticks the males were carrying earlier.

(The Thing: +100 Base Damage, -20 Never Done This Before, +15 Semi-Auto, + 71 Dice = 116 Total Damage
Oro: + 15 Base Resilience, - 5 Gaping Wounds, -10 Crippled Knee = +5 Total Damage Added

Oro Health: 1145- 121 = 869)

Aimed shots hit him hard once again, but the pain could no longer phaze him; Oro's previous injuries were already hurting so badly that it was just another nuisance. He just screamed at the thing again, whcih made it turn to flee; something it kept on its person was torn free and promptly caught fire.

Weird, why was it running faster all of a sudden?

In this moment, Oro had a brilliant idea; it was things like these that made him survive the torment of his kin.
Just after passing whatever was in that bundle, he swept it up and threw it after the thing; if it was that concerned about it, why not see what happened now?

Then the bundle exploded with power that Oro had never witnessed before.

(Shrapnel: + 50 Sharp And Going Very Fast = 50 Total Damage
Oro: + 15 Base Resilience, - 5 Gaping Wounds, -10 Crippled Knee, +200 Very Large Surface Area = +205 Total Damage Added

Oro Health: 869- 255 = 614)

Countless pieces of sharp metal burrowed into his body and made pain explode all over him again. He could feel the holes all over his body, aching and burning and... and hurting.
A loud scream reached Oro's ears, but he could not really see what it was about. His vision blacked and he felt his legs give out over the blood loss. No longer capable of holding his weight, he slumped backwards with a loud crunch.
Then he just lay there, staring at the ceiling of whatever this place was. He could no longer move, no longer stand... no longer fight.

Even after surviving into adulthood despite his weaknesses, he was to end in a place so far from home, beaten by something that should not have been capable to do this? Just how did this happen?

Just how had this tiny little thing hurt him so much?

Before he could even start thinking about an answer, Oro felt his skin light up in flames again.
His whole existence becoming pain, he did the only thing he could do.

He screamed.

Yes, YES
This is great.
I love Omakes that look at the MC from other perspectives.
I was actually going to write this story like that, but changed my mind later.

This is Canon now, Threadmarked

Hm... maybe designate it as canon-Omake? There will probably be others later, so people might get confused.

Either way, I am glad you like it. I just imagined what the demon might have been thinking while being stomped by something that had no right to stomp it. I also tried to keep my style close to yours, so that it flows better with the update in question.
I am not sure if that worked out, though.

It came out fine, I am very happy with it.
I like the line that takes Oro's lucky roll and turns it into the thing that let him survive in Hell, I might have to incorporate things like that more often myself.

It satisfies my deeply that he did, indeed, die screaming.

[X] Look Around The House For Anything You Might Need (Play as Una for the rest of the day)

Not sure what we'll find, but it can't hurt to check.

Just looking over our character sheet again... um... @Rukia, why is everything right-aligned instead of being centered?

It looks somewhat weird like that...

Oh.. That's odd.
I was playing around with how I wanted it to look, made it like that and changed it back to Center. But apparently it changed back on its own?
Fixing.

BESTEST LITTLE SISTER IS (NOT) LOOTING
You are Una, the bestest-little sister (according to your sister), you are currently kinda having a bit of a freakout (you would if bestest-big sister wasn't so comfy) and so you are going to peruse (loot) this fine location for it's wares for when you need to move again!

Admittedly, it's pretty hard to convince yourself to get up right now. Big sis gives the best snuggles, not that you would ever tell her that and she's doing that frowning thing she does when she's sleeping for really bad injuries. You really just want to lay there and take a nap in her arms because shessocomfyandwarm but right now you need to be responsible!

After waking up from a nap that didn't happen, you wriggle your way out of sis arms and squeeze around the bed, rolling up the warm part of the mattress you were lying on into her arms. Heh, since you mastered this trick you've managed to sneak away from her almost 100% of the time. Well, 100% ish. Now you are standing up and peering around your temporary den, you've only been here two days so you've not really had a chance to poke into the various things lying around but you bet you could find some really cool stuff.

Next, you move on to the closest room nearby, absent-mindedly remembering not to turn on the lights as you go, that being the other bedroom. It's kinda small but it has a bunch of toys lying around, a cupboard, a bookshelf, bed with chesterdraws and ooh is that a computer?

Leaving that room, you slither across the hall and poke your head into the bathroom, it's pretty nice and has a cabinet, but you've seen bigger and better ones before. That one in that Mansion that one time was huuuuuuge and did bubbleie things

You exit the bathroom with a slide across the smooth tiles until you hit the carpet and fall flat on your face with a whump. Totally meant to do that
Salvaging your ferocious pride, you wriggle over to the last room on this floor and peek your head in. It's about the same size as the other bedroom, but it only has a small table and several small mats next to it? Is this one of those foreign things?

Neeext there is the Kitchen! You bet there is all sorts of useful stuff in here. There are three cabinets at knee height and two that you can't reach above them. There is a biiiig bookshelf that stretches across a wall, a fancy-dancy table and a big desk/cupboard thing. Also the fridge/freezer.

So I'm thinking we grab the computer, a good amount of food, some big jugs of water, and some glasses. Just drag/bring it all into the bedroom. Maybe fresh bandages from the bathroom as well.

Just, basically avoiding as much movement as possible in the house long term.

Course we need to make sure she grabs actual food and not just junk food.

This confirms that Una is adorable.

Okay. The situation calls for a plan. I will go for maximum loot without giving any chances, so please tell me if you find something unsafe in my plan or have additions.

[] Plan Maximum Loot, Minimum Risk
-[] Leave the master bedroom, let big sis sleep (You can loot the place later.)

-[] Ransack the secondary bedroom
--[] Go through the chest drawers, the cupboard and bookshelf
--[] Look behind the furniture as far as you can, check below the mattress and look over the toys
--[] Check the computer last

-[] Ransack the bathroom a bit
--[] Go through the cabinet for anything of use, take the biggest towel and make it your cloak

-[] Ransack the weirdo room
--[] Look below the mats and if something is taped under the table, check whether the floor is hollow

-[] Walk down the stairs like a boring person, but do it quick to make your cape flutter

-[] Ransack the entryway
--[] Look behind the painting, check what is in the box and the drawer in the table
--[] If there are coats hanging on the coat rack, check those as well and see if they fit you or big sis

-[] Leave The Door be

-[] Ransack the living room
--[] Look behind the paintings and below the furniture, check cracks in the sofa and armchairs
--[] Open each and every door to look for useful things
--[] Check behind the TV, but try not to damage the cables

-[] Ransack the kitchen
--[] Check all the cabinets you can reach, as well as the bookshelf
--[] Look below the table and in the cupboard
--[] Go get a stool to look at everything you could not reach without it before

-[] Take breaks once in a while; do:
--[] play with the toys in the Secondary Bedroom
--[] watch TV in the living room
--[] go cuddle with big sis
--[] have a snack; are there any sweets in the house?
--[] take a bath in the evening
--[] Go to sleep when you get tired

Here we go; is that workable?

There is nothing objectionable here.

I will mention that your choices here either way have pretty long knock on effects for Best Little Sister Personality wise if she survives that long

I thought it was more "Here's a room, if you see something you want to investigate or you could expect to be in there then go ahead and take it."

Also... I'm kind of worried about making too much noise and drawing someone we really don't want here.
if she survives that long
She's Hibiki. All her friends need to die off first.

Oh my god yes, I am now totally picturing her as a little Hibiki

With how you portrayed those two, I doubt that they are not already mentally damaged. I mean, they obviously just went and claimed this place to stay in; no one knows they are there and this is not the first time they did this.
Even if it is usually Cyres who loots everything, I doubt that Una has not been looking over her shoulder. Besides, making her an experienced looter might help her out later on.

At least in my opinion, Best Little Sister is better off with a few weird traits than dead.

There might be a problem if she has no friends.
Aside from that, I get the feeling noise is not as important as leaving the windows alone and not turning on any lights...
On the latter note, should I take out the computer and/or TV?

Edit: By the way, the character sheets are still right-aligned.

So my idea would be... Practical with a dash of creature comforts? And Naron's would be... honestly all I can see that as being is asking to die from needing to grab all the loot. Basically obsessive... shit, what's the word for compulsive stealing?

TV at least. It's 2000, so the internet is only really starting to lift off, but we should have some way of getting info from the outside.

"Kleptomania" is what you are looking for.
And maybe she will be like that... but we already know the world will go to hell at some point.
Besides, I did plan for her to take breaks, so maybe this will result in some kind of OCD where she has to be thorough with that kind of thing?

Edit: Took out the computer and put in to actually go to sleep, considering we have day and night to spend.

Character sheets are fine.

Hm... they are still right-aligned. I thought you wanted to put them back into the center, but okay.

Edit:
Hm... looking over my vote... how about we combine being thorough with going for utility, @ShadowAngelBeta?

As in, my plan might actually go a bit overboard... so how about I take out the more crass looting in the secondary bedroom, living room and kitchen, then replace the latter with looking for food and drink for the two girls?
I am already giving a pass on some of the rooms, so that should balance out somewhat.

What do you think?
