Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

So is any one curious about what this

Something tickles the edge of your mind, like a fly landing on your leg. [Hmm] "If I may take my leave, I do not wish to bother you." You catch his glance around the room, the other Asian people quickly looking away from him, an odd mixture of envy and pity in their eyes.

and this are

As he leaves, the odd niggling feeling fades, but the impression it leaves behind doesn't. [Hmmmm] This, was really strange. You turn back to your seat, the eyes of the room avoiding yours, and sit next to Gaia, an amused light dancing in her eye as she nibbles on a bit of popcorn. "What?" You cross your arms as you get comfortable.

Or is it just me?

MIKO
"Sneak." You crawl forwards, fingers spread as you move silently, not even a whisper as you creep closer to your target.

"Sneak." She's completely oblivious, slowly moving something inside her bag as you crouch down, tensing the muscles in your legs.

"Sneak!" You leap, arms pulled wide to- "Eek." Cerys looks down at you, her hand holding you off the ground by the back of your shirt.

"How did you know?" Some sort of magic you bet, that was cheating!

An odd smile comes to her face as she sets you down, ruffling your hair. "Maybe you shouldn't be whispering 'Sneak' while you are sneaking."

"But it makes me stealthier!" You look back to the door, Willow's head nodding at your word, the rest of her body hidden behind the wall. "See, she thinks so too!"

Your sister's eyebrows twitch and she snorts, obviously suppressing a laugh. Hah, victory. Shaking her head, she turns away from the bag, leaving whatever it is she has in there alone and stretching. "You two want to have a look around with me?" You immediately nod, smoothing your ruffled hair back down and coax Willow on with your eyes. Doooooo ittttttt. She puts up a mighty resistance, but crumbles under your gaze, her screen flicking a green tick as she nods.

You skip to the door, spinning around and bouncing on the spot as you wait for sis. "C'mon, lets go! There is this really cool thing in the garden." Sis shrugs, leaving her bag where it lies and following you through the house, humming as she passes through the kitchen, the other pair of sisters already poking through the food as they look for something to cook. "That's what happens when you get old." You quietly whisper into Willow's ear, smiling at her giggle. "You become an old granny who cooks all day and mutters about 'these damn kids'." Your muffled laughter only gets louder when you catch sight of your sister's twitching eyebrow.

Escaping into the garden before she can muss your hair any more, you skip over to the pool, bouncing as you wait for your sister to slowly walk across the garden. "C'mon Cerys, I wanna show you something."

She nods slowly, not speeding up her glacial pace in the slightest. "Of course dear, but you know how it is, these old bones just aren't what they used to be." You huff as she turns your words against you, quickly poking a toe into the water. Coldcoldcoldcold- Quickly shaking your foot off you sigh, looking at the water despondently. Guess we can't swim just yet- Something crashes into your back, dragging you into the water as it falls, familiar laughter tickling your ear as you sink into the icy water. Ceeeeerrryyyysssssss!

Pushing off of her slowly sinking form, you breach the surface, spraying water out of your mouth as you shake your head, your sisters amused face popping out of the water next to you. Oh no you don't! You jump at her, pushing down on her head, dunking her with a quick motion. "Ha!" You smile as she slowly circles you, fingers dancing along your exposed feet and legs. "Noooo, saaaave me Willow!" You stretch a hand out to her and she crouches down. For a moment, her hand brushes yours, then she grabs it, pushing you further into the pool.

You splutter as the shove splashes water onto your face, your sister taking advantage of your weakness to latch onto a foot her evil evil fingers walking along your sole. "Nooo- Ceryssseeek!" You flail as she inflicts heinous tortures upon your poor, poor body, her other hand making sure your head never drops below the surface.

Endless years pass under the cruel ministrations of your sister, the very universe teetering upon it's end when she finally releases you from your torment, holding your panting form up as your legs twitch feebly "Evil." She smiles at your words, ignoring the almost hissing sound coming from your mouth and setting you back on solid ground, pulling herself out a moment later. The water covering the both of you makes a similar hiss to you, clothes quickly drying out as your sister does something magic.

Pushing yourself into a sitting position, you notice that Willow has claimed one of the loungers and bounce up, walking a little tenderly over to her side. "Hey." She looks up, breathing rough. Wha- "Are you ok?" Your eyebrows furrow as she nods, a wet cough stopping her before she can speak.

The coughing lasts uncomfortably long before it stops. "Y-yeah, I'm fine, just a little tired." She clears her throat and swallows, colour starting to creep back into her pale face. You watch anxiously, but after a few seconds she looks fine, sitting up in her seat and shooing you aside. "See, I'm fine." You feel sis looking over your shoulder, a concerned sound coming from her throat. "It's fine, it just happens sometimes." Reluctantly, you let it go, sharing an unhappy look with your sister, who presses her lips together.

"Alright, but if you need anything, or feel like something is coming on, let me know ok?" Willow nods under her steely gaze, laying back onto the lounger and closing her eyes, skin still a little clammy.

You step back and your sister leans down, whispering into your ear. "Get her something to drink and a snack, then read manga with her or something, don't let her get up unless she has to." You nod, quickly rushing off into the kitchen and skidding next to the oldies. I'll take care of her so good that she'll never have even been sick!

Cerys

You sigh as you watch your sister sprint away, giving Willow a pat as you wait for her to return. It's a shame she got sick now, it's supposed to be a holiday. Barely gone for thirty seconds, your sister returns, food, water and Manga in hand. She nods at you as she drags another lounger next to her friend, already coaxing her into eating something. She's a good girl. Standing up, you dry out the last bit of water from your clothes. "Alright kids be good, I'll be back later." Your sister nods absent-mindedly, not really listening to you. Good enough. [Concern]

You stop next to the sisters in the kitchen, stealing a slice of apple from Daiyu's hand. "I think Willow is coming down with something, Una's with her now, but can you keep an eye on her? I'm going to have a look around." You bite into the slice, your partner making a distressed sound and quickly biting the other half from your lips. She smirks at you as Cuifen frowns.

"Do you know what is wrong with her?" The elder sister looks as concerned as you feel.

"No, but she had a pretty nasty cough, her skin was nearly white for a little while." Cuifen frowns harder. "I think she might have caught something here, not used to the place?"

"Maybe, it happens when people travel." She looks back to the meal she was preparing, tutting. "I'll make something healthy for her." You nod, stepping away. "You're going to look around?" You nod. "Be back in at least an hour, lunch will be done by then." You nod again, setting off towards the door, a throat clearing as you touch the handle. Mmm?

Sabina pushes off of the wall, blank look on her face. "I'll come with you." You raise an eyebrow, but she remains silent. You dismiss it with a shrug, pulling the door open and stepping into the garden. Alright, where to go... A sign nearby helpfully points out a few places. Lake, Shrine -shut up Gaia-, groceries, visitor centre, shrine- The mental nudging grows to the point that you have a light headache. Really Gaia? It doesn't stop. Fine, whatever. You glance at Sabina and turn, making quick time for the Shrine. Honestly...

The Torii grows larger as you approach, well kept stone tiles leading you into a small compound, small flowerbeds running along the inside of the walls. Is that? The dragon-thing has draped itself across a bench, one of the... Miko? [Yes] Gah, goddamit Gaia.

Shaking off your surprise, you look at the Miko, who was slowly washing the back of the creature, using a sponge to clean chunks of dirt from it's scales. A grumbling noises comes from your side, Sabina gently tugging on your sleeve. "Ignore the stupid fat thing, I'm here." Is she being... possessive? [Amusement] [Amusement] You sigh, ignoring the peanut gallery and letting her guide you around the courtyard, until you were on the other side of the central building and out of sight of it.

Turning to your... Turning to Sabina, you raise an eyebrow and a faint dusting of red covers her face. "I don't understand it, but I don't like it, you're mine." The words hang in the air for a moment, then she covers her face with one hand. "I can't believe I just said that." You decide to not think about that, looking away from her as she does her best to ignore her own embarrassment. [Looo-] Be quiet you. [Looooov-] Please don't copy Gaia, she is a terrible role model.

Unaware of your internal war, one of the older Miko's approaches you.

"Hello Spirit." She calmly glances at Sabina before looking back to you. "What brings you to our shrine today?"

You look at the woman's calm features, looking perfectly at ease with a 'spirits' presence. "I was... prodded to come here. Gaia refused to stop bothering me until I did."

She smiles at your words, the quiet aura of tranquillity she carries with her soothing your headache a little. "I have heard tales of how persistent she can be." You snort, but she continues unruffled. "Would you like a cup of tea?"

[] Accept her offer, it has been hours since your last one.
[] Leave, you've done as Gaia asked, but you want to keep an eye on Willow.

I don't see why not, and we already have everyone else keeping an eye on Willow.

Wondering if Willow's reality has the same diseases as this one does. Someone should keep an eye on her.

That being said... Tea time is important.

1) Here's hoping we don't forget lunch is in an hour
2) We have yet to learn just why Gaia was insistent
3) Here's wishing we could ask the miko about healthcare

The woman frowns, crossing her arms. "A likely story." Her eyes move past you, head tilting to the side as she stares at Willow. "You are literally incapable of restraining yourself from meddling where you aren't welcome." A small flicker of magic tickles you as her eyes flash through a multitude of colours, settling back to their normal grey after a moment. "I hope you don't think that sympathy will win me over."

Gaia pauses for a moment, shifting her gaze to Willow before shrugging. "Not really, it'll be taken care of." The woman just nods, going back to staring at Gaia. "I, am here as a chaperone for these darlings." She sets a hand on your shoulder. "They've just been so busy lately, I thought that it would be good to let them have a few days off, see the sights." The woman looks at you again, eyes moving to the rest of your group in quick order.

Sounds like Gaia already has something planned to help Willow out with whatever illness she has?
Might be the case that Shiva-Sil simply did not intend or needed for Willow to live very long and made the powergranting hazardous.
