Even better, we left some of those 20,000 back at Metz depot as a garrison. Five thousand? So more like ten percent?
26% casualty rate. Barely more than a quarter of the whole army.

Though before we get overconfident, a reminder we were fighting against a newly formed and tired coalition army funneled through 2 bridges with already dug in and ready defenders.

Before I forget, did we fight against just one coalition force or both of them Plause? Cause I remember there were 2 coalition army speed rolls. And does everyone gain an increase in skills according to what they did in the battle?

Yeah, I can't remember whether those two forces were detachments of the same army and there was another force on the way, or if that was all there was.

Technically, it was two divisions of over 20,000 men each, but they formed up into one army. Rolled for both of their speeds since they were separated at first.
They merged under Brunswick as supreme commander of Coalition forces.

Yeah, of course! It'll be gone into in detail in the next bit, since there's no combat in the foreseeable future, so I can roll all them stat upgrades in one update.

.....Attacking the French because we would have the support of the coalition yes, attacking russia tho...not so much unless there is something i missed here.
Not sure what you're referring to?
My note was that Sweden attacked Russia a bit too well for their own good, and pursued (do NOT pursue!) the Russian army deep into Poltava (modern day Ukraine), where they got totally starved, frozen, and annihilated by the Russians as much as their own hubris.

Sabaton even wrote a song about it!

It's a striking resemblance to what might happen numerous times for people who think the Russian army's easy to beat, for some reason.

.....My apologize but I thought that in this thread Sweden (for some duck a-s reason or the other) decided to attack russia, I did not mean the Great Nothern War.

.....Actually is there a thread somewhere about changiong the fate of the Swedish Empire?

You know, know that I think about it, in WW2 under Vichy France, Joan de Arc became the national symbol of France, I think that Therese would make an excellent symbol of Free France, a modern debate could be something like, "Therese Auclair or Joan de Arc, the national woman of France?"
One crowned a king, one (hopefully) dethroned one, nice symbolism.

well they were neutral at first and we could ally them.we have historical ties with them after all. we just need to not execute

it seems that after his death sweden entered the war

thougth we can probably win against sweden as well if they enter the war

Belgium? You mean the United Provinces, surely!
No really, Belgium hasn't seceded from the Netherlands yet.

I believe he means the Spanish Low countries. The united Provinces seceded from it (and Spanish rule) during the 80 years war.

It was only at Vienna congress that the Spanish Low countries were (temporarily) attached to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in order to create a counter weight to France

They're the Austrian Low Countries now, since they were transferred from Spain to Austria after the War of the Spanish Succession.

Even with our debuff, we would still have +20 to negotiations. I predict if we don't have the trial in Mainz, we would have a harder time to befriend d'Oyré and Beauharnais. Having the trial in camp would at least placate our commanders.

Cause if we release them without other's opinion, Therese would make an excuse that they escaped on their own, which would hamper peoples view of her.

.....Well the French and Swedish do have ties but I wonder if it will be enough, if Prussia and Russia decides that it would be better to be safe than sorry Sweden would not have a chance.
we could try to ally them after we have defeated the other powers and are trying to invade russia(if we so choose)for their expertise in winter warfare
we attack from the south they from the north
promise them the territories they lost against russia in the great northern war and anything else they want
but i dont know if we will have that opportunity since they migth join the third coalition

One of the things we have to promise them in that case is st. Petersburg.

That is true so karelia and the baltic countries
Still I think the peasants will not care as much since russia practises serfdom
For russia that is another matter

Not the I know of, sadly. Sweden's main problem is manpower, so any long engagements and wars of attrition will totally destroy them at this stage. They're likely to join the advantageous side, if any at all, at least for the time being.

Yeah, the Habsburgs are still in power in these places. Damn monarchists, getting everywhere!

Having fun redrawing the maps of Europe before you've even won, I see. Bold move!
Ah, I think Moratorium is over.
Yes it is!

They're coarse and rough and irritating and they get everywhere.

[X] Plan Random
-[X] Demand an oath from them not to fight against France or its allies for the duration of this war. If they accept, release them. If they don't, you will keep them as your prisoners and take them with you to Paris: the National Convention will decide their fate!
-[X] Paris: News of your victory will spread quickly. It may be best to head to Paris, both to celebrate and find out what Brian is doing. Hopefully you can catch him when he's waiting for reassignment.
