[X]Joseph Bonaparte: Napoleon's brother. Possibly the only administrator that you consider Napoleon's equal in administrative and legal matters. He may have been a republican, but he is loyal to his brother. You don't know too much about him personally, but you know he is someone who takes his work very seriously. A man who can do the best for the Italian people, and for Napoleon. The best of both worlds.

He did afantastic job in Naples OTL IIRC. I would like to see what he can do with the whole of Italy. Granted he was only King of Naples for a short while(2 years), but what he did during that time (and he got alot done in such a short time) is very encouraging.

Wasn't Joseph King of Spain, not Naples?

If Joseph doesn't get the Italian crown, what crown might he be given, because aren't the crowns of Naples and The Netherlands up for grabs.

[X]Brian Auclair: Your Brother, your protector for most of your life, and possibly the last person that would wish to become an autocratic monarch of Italy. You know for a fact, he would have started a republic if Napoleon had deemed that from him. But you consider that if you support him, he would have a greater chance than the others for becoming King. The thing that troubles you, is this: His loyalty to the Revolution, to the ideas that it champions, along with his independent attitude, and ability to say no to Napoleon… may cause a great deal of friction between him and Napoleon. He is a masterful administrator, a brilliant soldier, and a capable General. And the fact he is a Frenchman, not Italian… well that can cause a great deal of trouble, to the more nationalistic of the Italians.

Brian asked us to help him get it. Massena would be a popular pick among the Italians initially, but he'd quickly sour them with exploitative tax farming, wars of conquest and vanity projects. Joseph would do fairly well, but he's also a pick for Naples, and he liked it there OTL. Therese isn't ready for sole rulership, and Nappy's head would be visible from orbit.

My understanding is that the entire reason we did this action was to support brian.

Brian has good intentions and good plans but he could cause problems for Napoleon

If Brian didn't ask us this would be a more harder choice but since he did then hey let our brother have it.

Right now, Bernadotte does not have the possibility of becoming king.

He's too unknown, no one knows his true capabilities, and right now, he is a subordinate to Severin, a man who, in all likelihood, may earn himself a crown by pure ballsiness.

Didn't Bernadotte later turn on Napoleon?

Considering the fact that everyone and their mother was fighting nappy during the hundred days?. You could argue he was only saving his country from a doomed war. Besides bernadotte made it clear that his loyalties are towards Sweden not France

From Wikipedia
Before freeing Bernadotte from his allegiance to France, Napoleon asked him to agree never to take up arms against France. Bernadotte refused to make any such agreement, upon the ground that his obligations to Sweden would not allow it; Napoleon exclaimed "Go, and let our destinies be accomplished"

[jk] OVER MY DEAD BODY

While I don't begrudge Bernadotte's declaration of war against Napoleon, he could have very well saved him since it was mostly the lack of Cav that doom Nappy the first during the campaign of France. But I don't dislike him for that, the reason I truly despise him is the fact that he was heavily involved in planning the war against France, Instead of sending a token force he personally taught a lot to the Coalition.
