Well... looks like it is up to us to save Spain from collapse. Provided that it is indeed possible, this might be a good opportunity to put a friendly regime in Spain so we can get basing rights for a naval invasion against Britain.

Well good thing we have officers who are competent at the high command we can use for independent command who can act independently of our orders and objectives...

Oh its almost like your choices in how you handle the creations of marshals... will benefit you.

At this point do we even want to help in Spain? Despite it being the right thing to do would a stable Spain be useful to us? At this point, just puppet them, better be a sister republic to us.

That...IS 'helping them'? It was basically what we were gonna do anyway. Put a Regime in charge that's on our side, be it a Republic or one of Napoleon's brothers/one of our Marshals as King.

We'd still need to stabilize them if we want a useful puppet. Else it'd likely be a land of infinite insurgency and a drain of resources. And if they get their shit together without us there's no gaurantee they'd like us.

TBH... I think 8...

I lost track to be honest, Cyber had the list and he's not working on the project anymore.
Let's see...I may have an Idea.

-The Batavian Republic (encompassing parts of modern day Belgium and the Netherlands)
-The Italian Republic (Let's say the various smaller Sister Republics in Northern Italy are already combined into one by now, for the sake of simplicity. So, this Republic stretches roughly from Milan to Venice and from the Alps to Bologna. The Rest of Northern Italy, aka Turin, Savoy and surroundings, was directly annexed into France)
-The Republic of Sicily
-The Roman Republic (the former Papal States, plus Florence)
-The Republic of Naples (former Kingdom of Naples, aka all of Southern Italy)

If we didn't take even more land in Germany during the War of the Second Coalition, that should be it for now.

But if we don't temper napoleon ego, and his desire to entrench himself as autocrat... Or just you know, frances influence

Or just not have enough help that is competent...

He might start making kingdoms again.

But with the things are going... we might have to stop him holding elections asking to assume direct control over those said republics.

Because he's popular enough and charismatic enough to do so.

I mean...if they are fair, non-rigged Elections and the People of said Republics do actually want it...

I might even be willing to let it slide in that case.

Still, talking him down from just annexing them/declare the Monarchies without holding a Vote, or doing it anyway if the Republics decide they don't want it, THAT we should definitely do.

The Marshals of France and the important people of France’s Army itself
The Marshals of France and the important people of France's Army itself (A Few):

Andre Massena: 11

Massena, despite being a hero of Italy, and one of the more elder and competent commanders of France has been relieved of command of Italy, and has taken to a semi-retirement role as a Governor General of Italy.

He is quite displeased with this announcement. But considering that the Emperor is planning to reform and reconstitute the armies, he is assured that he will be back in command as the Head of the Army of Italy, soon enough.

Reward: He has been demoted due to the Demobilization of the Army

Jean Lannes: 38

Though Lannes has recovered from his wounds, he has requested a few months' leaves from the Army, to be with his family…

Or rather, to divorce his harlot of a wife and try to find another one who will love him with the truth.

Reward: Lannes has left to divorce his wife, and will return in a few months.

Michel Ney: 82

The Hero Ney has been applauded by the Emperor and the Senate of France and has received the thanks of his Peers from the Senate. He is now without a command, but Napoleon has requested that he command his household guard until he can reorganize the Army and even request to assist his wife as Inspector General.

Reward: Ney is in Paris, commanding the Household guard of Napoleon and You.

+1 to an action's next turn.

Jean Baptiste Jourdan: 92

The Wily Fox of the Rhine, and the only commander who is still protesting the Emperor's coronation, but his heroism and reputation keep him in command of the Army of the Rhine.

Though, once again, he has begun to spend his time reforming, reorganizing, and retraining them all, with his dutiful Chief of Staff, Saint Cyr.

Reward: The Army of the Rhine, smaller than it was at its peak… has begun reorganizing.

Louis Nicholas Davout: 100+12=112

Louis Nicholas Davout, the Iron Marshal, according to his two subordinates, Murat and Severin, has been quietly and dutifully…

Making reports. About everything that occurred during THe Naples and Italian campaign that occurred in the last two years.

He most assuredly wished to find a way to replicate the success of the battle of Palermo, where the Amphibious invasion into hostile territory, especially heavily occupied territory like Palermo, could be replicated again.

He has called upon General Dumas to assist him with that endeavor, and while he wishes that the Empress herself could bring upon her experiences, he is too shy to ask.

Reward: The Doctrine of Amphibious Assault, and Strom landings, and Assault Doctrine, has been unlocked as an action from the Doctrines.

New Actions Available.

Murat: 76

The Dandy man, while not in an active role in the Army, has taken to the streets of Paris, being on the prowl for a wife.

His heroism, and his dashing good looks, are something he hopes to capitalize on. And if he decides to help his superior the Empress.

Reward: +1 action, and a new action Available.

Severin: 82

Denis Martin Severin… The Up jumped Sargent who could, is in Paris to visit his family, but there is quite a few things he wishes to do. First, he wants to go home and enjoy being with his wife.

After that, he wants to show off his new Baton, with an ax head.

Lastly, the Emperor is reforming the Army, and he needs… The Sergeant of the Army, to be prepared to write out his training.

Reward: +1 to Action, New Actions Available.

Mortier: 39

Mortier has been reassigned to a garrison position in Brest, Governor of the region, and to assist in the rebuilding of the French Navy with newly appointed Admiral Adam Serre.

Reward: His talents are wasted in an administrative role, but he is not doing anything stupid, like getting shot at by his angry enemies.

Serrurier: 43

Serrurier has been appointed as Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. Partially because his reputation as a fair, honest man caught the Eye of the Ottoman Sultan.

It is also reported that he made an enemy with Marshal Massena, and the Emperor wishes to prevent any feuding among his higher officers.

Reward: Serrurier has got east, to the Ottoman court in… Istanbul? Or Constantinople? Everyone is calling it a different thing.

Franquos Kellerman: 96+98+61

The Old man of the Army has some ideas. And with many of his legal reforms for the Army being passed with great acclaim…

He has decided to come up with a new idea. A modern idea some would call it.

Finding a way for the French State's Budget to pay its soldiers on a monthly, or even weekly basis.

Not relying on loot? Absurd! They say.

But the Old man is not deterred.

Reward: New Action Available… To Pay Soldiers.

Lefebvre: 19

Lefebvre has been taken ill, and will be missing crucial meetings in the coming weeks.

Reward: Actions of his inspection have been removed.

AN: Enjoy.

Some low rolls but many good ones also. Especially the people that seem to be close with Therese. Davout and Kellerman are catching my eye.

Kellerman is about to try and do something unthinkable...

Establish a system where the French Army can be paid at a reasonable time and a reasonable rate...

Eat your heart out King's Shilling!
