Again. I say we dither in Naples until we know the outcome of the naval war. French victory? Great. The way is open. French defeat? We aren't stuck in a sandbox that hates us.

Could we not just say "fuck it" and like just sail off and 'accidentally' run aground in like Sicily or something and decide to just like pincer the rest of Italy between us and Napoleon and use him as a political shield?

We might be able to, but that would certainly require the full and willing cooperation of the crews of the ships we're sailing on, and we don't know yet how enthused they are about this campaign.

Okay I'm going to give a third option
[X] chamans & road trip

Also question for the GM because it's going to take at least somewhere between 2 to 4 turns to get to Egypt do we start voting now on what we do to prepare for it besides picking a XO and where the kids are going to be or we get at next turn?

On the upside, with Napoleon still in Italy and not in Egypt, he might just steamroll to Naples anyways and secure a slightly better supply line than Toulon - Malta - Alexandria rather than Naples flipflopping for two years.

I have my worries that this quest would seem kinda chauvinistic if every other country is sexist as hell towards Therese but France is magically okay with her doing anything. I mean, sexism is basically never addressed in this quest and to have it come full force with countries that aren't France would seem like a double standard.
It was actually a conscious choice by us to make the first officers you work with respect you for your competence and gain trust from you in battle. To differentiate the men from the future officers who you will be working with.

you have respect for a few officers who worked with you. not all of the officers in France.
My read is that republican France is fighting for its life, and while this doesn't make it less sexist it does make it less willing to shit all over its military heroes. You don't openly insult someone you might need later.
Plus they are using us as propaganda. In a nation who has a national hero who is also a woman, it helps the morale.
Not really the case most times. If the person is acting disrespectful to authority, the authorities during Revolutionary France's time didn't really mind tossing them in a prison cell or having them sent to the guillotine. Hoche got sent to a prison cell despite playing a large hand in clearing Alsace of Austrians. If they didn't like you, they was always willing to find someone else, France wasn't exactly short of competent people
Need I remind you that Kellerman and Doumoriz went to bat for you and basically lied to the trial by saying you were following orders.

because that's exactly what they did for you.

Their faith in you was rewarded with victory.
Still, this is something the QMs need to be very careful about
We plan to.

I mean you can, but it might lead to some... very questionable and uncontrollable outcomes.

Among other things: gathering supplies, planning strategy with your naval attaché, plan to disobey orders if you wish, train soldiers..promote men of competence to higher command, that sort of thing.

Again you can disobey orders but the consequences will outside of your control.

and possibly severe if you did not succeed or do orther things that would help France.

  • [X]De Lisle and ROAD TRIP
    [X] Chamans & Academy
    [X] Chamans & Academy
-[X]Colonel Antoine Marie Chamans: The Man had been arguably your second in command throughout your first battles. An expert administrator, a competent officer in all fields of fighting, though his strength lied in artillery, and a man who more often than not, quelled the more brash heads of de Lisle and Severin when they both proposed plans that would not accurately and effectively use what you had. He is also a man you know can keep secrets, and that was worth almost as much as cannon on a hill.
-[X]Send them to the Academy: Louis has expressed a desire to become an officer, if not out loud, then in his actions learning from your men. Charlotte will follow him, care for him, and to learn from the Academies best. (This will send them to the Military School in Brienne, A School Napoleon recommended in a letter.)
    [X]De Lisle and ROAD TRIP
-[X]Captain Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle: When you looked for a man to keep the Army fed, the weapons working, and a place to sleep, you turned to de Lisle. He was a master Engineer, a man who could make a loaf of bread last a week among twenty men with his expert rationing. He is not a man who will question your orders and provide a second opinion, something you desperately need. It is quite a shame that he is also a composer in his spare time, with a horrific singing voice. (Will automatically promote de Lisle to Colonel.)
-[X]Take Them With You: You will not allow them to be pawns within France. It would be safer to take them with you and keep them under your watch. (You will take them with you to Egypt.)

If we've got a demoralized force, some victories in Sicily could absolutely lift some spirits. I'd very much be down for a diversion.

It's kind of like an island hopping campaign. And we can tell command as much.

The supply lines need to be shorter and more secure. And if we can take Malta, all the better. If we do this, we need our asses covered.

You do have a motivated core to work with (The army of the Rhine that we're bringing with).

That is a possibility.

Again, you can always do something else.

Okay, so our comfy life depends on our military success, no pressure . I say we blitz through Naples , malta and maybe join up with American marines and fight the pirates in order to secure Tunisia and Tripolia before going for Egypt .

Actually, it depends on a variety of factors. Political and military allies that you make over your campaigns (which will happen more naturally), what your brother is doing with Nappy B, who you beat in battle... how competent you are in several skills...

all sorts of stuff.

It's a Plan.
