Liked the chapter, but just a point of order here, this:
Is incorrect,
the connection to the grail is bound up in the command seals, which is why it's such a big deal when they spontaneously appear on one's hand when the grail selects someone to participate, and why they're fought over; due to them essentially being a ticket to participate in the grail war, as well as being a channel to feed prana to one's servant, subsidising their cost to the point of the summon (and therefore participation in the war) being a practical possibility.

Of course, one can summon a Servant ahead of time in the hope that the grail takes an interest and awards said summoner a set of command seals at a latter date, but such a thing isn't guaranteed (unless you're a founding family member, in which case you can either obtain it outright, or 'requisition' it from whatever family member had it originally via spiritual surgery or similar methods, such as Wishcraft, Absorption, or isolation and transference via Jewelcraft).

As for this bit?:

The first sentence actually referring to taking the forces that've been called upon thus far (silver and iron to the origin, whatever one is using as a foundation, plus a relevant invocation of something connected to the Root, whether that be supplication to a conceptual ancestor, or paying someone/something a tribute,) and forming a bounded field with the invoked concepts (silver and iron) to create an isolated space, with the invoked entity/concept (Zelretch, Red, etc,) serving as an anchor-point for said bounded field that anchors it to the Root/Akasha (in the case of Zelretch, tracing his connection to the Second Magic to tap the Root, whereas in the case of 'let Red be the color I pay tribute to', well, it's probably a case of feeding the Red Shadow some prana in order to be allowed to summon, though it could also be a reference to another potential path to the Root, seeing as Touko Aozaki is referred to as 'Dirty Red' as both a play on her name (which can mean Orange) and the fact that she was passed over as inadequate for achieving the Fifth, in favour of her sister, implying her capacity to reach the Root to be tainted and crippled (there's also the whole color-wheel/sephirot metaphor in there, with Malkuth being the place where all the colors mix, being base, mundane, impure, and tainted, as well as a red-shift/blue-shift comparison between Touko and her sister. ...It's a pretty sick burn, and personalised too, so it kinda makes sense that Touko makes a point to kill anyone who utters it considering the sheer level of insult involved and the fact that not answering in kind would see her regarded as easy prey by her fellow magi). So yeah, 'let Red be the color I pay tribute to' could also be a reference to a path to the Fifth Magic, fulfilling the same purpose as a reference to the Second, i.e, Zelretch's Kaleidoscope.)

'The gates in the four directions close' is actually pretty simple, it's isolating a point within the Sephirot, allowing for power and the essence of whatever is being summoned to build up there, 'coming from the crown' being a denotation of both the starting location and the direction of 'travel' of the summoning.

'The three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate' is where it gets interesting. It's actually causing the outer paths of the Sephirot to circle around the centre path, essentially integrating their aspects/facets into the summon as it travels from Keter to Malkuth. Think of the process like one of those old weaving looms that spins thread into string, or string into rope. Put another way? The invitation is literally 3D-printing the summoned Servant into being by arranging and layering it's invoked essence in a specific manner.

And as for:

It's again pretty simple, starting at the Crown/Keter, it's filling the isolated space to capacity with the summon's essence (while the three-forked road/outer sephira circle and etch/interweave their facets into said essence,) before shattering the barrier between said isolated space and the next lower wrung on the central path of the sephirot, then repeating said steps, forming an additional layer comprised of the next-lower sephirot around a core comprised of the previous layers, kind of like a layered jaw-breaker or a matryoshka doll. This repeats five times, going from Keter to Malkuth, with the end result appearing in the summoning circle, before the process loops and repeats, doing so constantly throughout the course of the summoning, with the resulting 'echo' of the summoned heroic spirit superimposing upon itself and fusing with it's previous super-positionings as a result, gaining more and more substance with every cycle/loop and repetition, until eventually, with the help of the Servant Class restriction to filter out contradictory content, they gain enough stability to manifest as a living, breathing being... or close enough, because Servants = spiritual bodies, etc.

The whole thing is actually kinda like that scene in The Fifth Element where Leeloo gets reconstituted at/near the start.
So yeah, you'd actually be better off changing it to "were unneeded due to my use of Brimir's ritual as the summoning's basis", or something.

Regardless though, love your work, keep it up :D

I'm using this in the new thread?

Idea for a SI: SI with the ability "Rock, Paper, Scissors - Shoot", which allows them to do the motions for Rock Paper Scissors, than a finger gun motion and whatever they choose to do the sign for(Rock/Paper/Scissors) will be the attribute the magic bullet that comes out will have. For example a scissors attributed bullet would be sharp and cut/pierce, rock would be blunt and hard/heavy and do impact damage(if made weak enough it could shatter into fragments/shrapnel), and paper would be restrictive/choking (like shoot and aim at the mouth and they can't breath due to their nose and mouth being blocked, their fists would be balled up and restricted if hit, if enough magic energy was put in they would be wrapped in an inescapable- for them, provided its strong enough- and non-moving layer, etc)

Another SI idea: SI with Renewal Taekwondo, Full Contact Karate, Moon Light Sword Style, Ssam-Su Taekkyeon, Northern ITF Taekwondo, Nabong Needle Ryu, Hallyang Style Pumba, Whoahyorakgeyok, Practical Taekkyeon, Macedonian Sarissa, Tai Chi, Lance de Combat and Kusanagi Style (All the listed Martial Arts from the GoH wiki) and a charyeok (or multiple, if that's even possible) and a weapon or some, also from GoH (For example the GoH Nyoibo or Kinto-Un)

Sounds fine but where would you place him?

Well the SI could be placed anywhere a writer wants as long as they're able to fit them in the world well,I post my ideas to share them and so that other people can use them to write or take inspiration from them, since I myself am not good at writing an actual story (Since it requires proper plot/direction and descriptions and other things which I wouldn't be god at managing/planning out correctly, even for a short part of a story like some writers apparently do) at most I could do a series of rough suggestions (e.g X character meets Y character and they have Z reaction, X events happen, Y twist happens, tragic ending for Y character etc) after being provided inspiration/a plot idea (And this is at most), so I only consider the setting if it's a specific idea (Like Emiya Shirou/Emiya shirou SI with Tinker of Fiction but specifically with gun, sword, bomb and armoured clothes blueprints, or SI with X Xianxia cultivation method/technique in Y Xianxia world)

Has anybody made an OP Delivery Boy SI? He would just go around making deliveries, always upholding his job, a few shenanigans ensue and if bad guys show up he either ignores them or beat the crap out of them.

You know.

I never believed in reincarnation.

"Congratulations your highness Ursa, what will you call him?"

Until it happened to me.

I could only see blobs but my hearing was pretty clear.

Now the question is where was I?

Considering what I heard just now my mother was royalty.

So perhaps I reincarnated into the past?

Though the was also the question of how the hell I was able to understand what was bieng said.

Because I was sure that what was being spoken wasn't English.

"Zuko, my little sunshine."

Well fuck...

I was in the Avatar world.

Reborn as Prince Zuko...

This was going to be hell....

Fire SI 2
My eyes cleared after a few days, half of my time as Baby Zuko was spent drinking milk(Oh god why), and little Azula poking my cheeks and oh god wetting and pooping myself. Dear God it was traumatising. Was this why most people don't remmeber their time before 4 years old? Why god why?

The other half of my time was spent meditating and trying not to fall asleep while meditating.

I could feel my Chi, I'm not sure if that was normal, but highly doubted it was. Perhaps the fact I didn't have Chi in my last life made it easy to notice the difference.

Most of my time during my meditation trying not to fall asleep was me trying sense what exactly what my Chi was doing and how it flowed through my body without trying to move it or change what it was doing.

At first I could barely stay awake for a few minutes before I was lulled to sleep by my wonderful mother.

Time was meaningless to me as I had no way to keep track of it.

But I knew that the time I could stay awake slowly increased.

So Azula is the older one here? That would certainly change the family dynamic, especially if the SI turns out to be a firebender prodogy.

I am one year old now and only now do I sit up.

I didn't want to be labeled a genius after all.

My first birthday was celebrated with my mother and Azula.

Dad was nowhere to be seen, not that I minded. I rarely saw him and he always stared at me as if expecting something from me.

Azula was still a lovely little girl. Something I definitely hoped to keep it that way, My Birthday was fairly normal considering that no one else came but I think it's better this way.

2 Years Old.

I didn't say my first words until nearly 2 years had passed, and boy did I get what I wanted.

"Mama." was of course my first words. Mom was ecstatic, especially when she had been worried since I don't cry much. Only when I needed to get her attention for food or *shiver* god forbid changing my diaper.

Dad's expectant face slowly turned to apathy and his visits to me got less and less frequent. Which was a good thing in my opinion. I'd rather keep snuggling with Mom and Azula.

I didn't sleep anymore.

I still needed rest. I would lay in bed at night motionless and breathing deep like a regular person. However, my mind remained awake and aware. Aware of my surroundings and most of all aware of my Chi.

It was probably a side effect of so much meditation and observing my chi at such an early age… or so I had theorized.

In my 'sleep,' my mind would travel with my Chi riding the eddies and flows of it as it cycled through my body. I found out that I could direct it much more easily than when I had first tried, but more importantly I could feel it in a much more detailed manner. The more time passed the more intimate and familiar I became with my chi.

Perhaps the idea was a holdover from her previous life but I thought that the more I felt and observed my chi every night the more I would come to understand it. The more I understood the more I would be able to do when I eventually start Firebending or at least that was what I presumed. It didn't seem to have any immediate benefits in the short term but in the long term, I was willing to bet a thousand gold pieces that my deepening understanding of my own Chi would pay back a hundredfold.

It was logical to me really and it seemed a shame that Ozai was primarily concerned with strength and War. Chi was the very essence of life and it was much more wonderful and vast than a simple tool for war. It was both mind and body and the interface between the two.

From my memories, I knew chi could even be used to affect and interact with your very soul. The potential for personal growth and understanding seemed limitless. An entire spiritual tradition could be founded on the study of Chi alone, The Airbenders really had the right idea.

All that potential and these people could only think about using it for war? Barbarians. Every last one of them were barbarians.

I was starting to really wish I was born in the air temples instead now.

I could speak fairly well now and Azula had started her training last year.

Me? Today my fire bending instructor had come to meet me.

"Zuko, this is your Uncle Iroh. Say Hello." My head snapped towards him so fast that I thought my neck had snapped, He looked so young!

"Greetings Prince Zuko, I am Iroh, though please, call me uncle," he said with a gentle smile, "so I heard from your mother that you want to be a fire bender."

I couldn't agree fast enough my head bobbing up and down. I could barely hold myself from glomping the old man in a hug. This was IROH! In front of me. I could barely hold myself from fanboying and releasing a squee! Though it seemed I didn't hide my excitement well enough from the amused look I saw my mother was giving me. I was definitely getting an autograph from him after this!

"But what if I am not a Firebender?" I asked and the Iroh chuckled as gestured for me to sit beside him in the lotus position with candles burning all around us.

I accepted and sat beside him, Mom was watching me from a corner and Azula was away training with Ozai.

"Young prince, Firebending is in your blood, you can't possibly be not a fire bender." I nodded not agreeing or disagreeing. "But even if you are not that doesn't really change anything does it? You are Prince Zuko and even you cannot bend fire that wouldn't change." He smiled gently laying a hand on my shoulder and giving me a soft squeeze, "Now then, the first thing you need to do is close your eyes and breath, breathe in deeply, and feel the sensation of the sunlight on your skin."

I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply enjoying the way my Chi flowed. The Sunlight falling on my skin from the windows felt warm not just on the skin but my Chi also seemed to flow faster and more energetically, every time I was in sunlight.

"Good, now then can you feel it? Every breath you take? It should feel warm, line honey flowing through your body."

I nodded I felt it, my chi flowing through 7 gates that I had begun to sense a few months ago and gathered into my stomach swirling like a whirlpool growing with each breath I took. The gates must be the seven chakras that Aang dealt with in canon. Though he said it felt like honey? I suppose if he meant in the sense that it moved slowly and was difficult to change then perhaps I knew what he meant. That was what it felt like when I had first started it. Now it felt like warm water, or blood perhaps, ready to move or change directions at a moment's notice.

"Good that is your Chi, the fact that you can feel it at all means that you are indeed a fire bender. For the next step keep your eyes closed and continue breathing. Now I want you to think about a question. What is Fire to you? What do you hope to gain from it?"

What is fire to me?

To me, Fire wasn't a thing. It represents a change in the state of matter and the release of energy. Fire was not just flames of burning gas. Even the sun itself powered by the power of fusing Hydrogen atoms together could be called a ball of fire. Anything that reaches a temperature called the draper point would begin to glow and at that point couldn't it be called fire? Such as when Steel is heated and begins to glow red hot, but it still emits energy even below that temperature, it was just in the infrared spectrum instead of the visible spectrum. So fire is made of two parts, heat and light. The light was just the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, but considering the sun also gives ultraviolet rays and distant pulsars could give off gamma rays and anything that gives of heat would give of infrared rays. Then there are microwaves that consist of microwaves background radiation. The heat was just the kinetic energy of molecules at a molecular level. The more heat something has the more kinetic energy its molecules had. As a solid, they simply vibrate in place heat it to a liquid and they move much more freely, flowing over one and another. Heat them even more and they eventually become gasses they bounce around freely and go even further beyond and they would become plasma having so much kinetic energy that the electrons themselves are free to move around.

Wait.

Since anything above absolute zero releases some energy in the form of radiation and there is nothing that is actually in absolute zero does that mean that technically everything is fire?

Holy Fuck.

My eyes snapped open at my realization

"Congratulations. You've unlocked your fire bending. How do you feel?"

I'm on fire!

Holy fuck everything is on fire. No its more accurate to say everything is fire!

"Prince Zuko?" Uncle Iroh called out.

"Huh, oh sorry, just...overwhelmed I guess." Letting out a tired sigh.

"Haha, don't worry, it was the same for me when I first learned it. It feels amazing doesn't it?" He said joyously.

"Yeah." I began to calm down and excitement began to build, ideas began to flow in my head as I began to realize just what I had understood.

"How about we all go and get some Jazmine tea? It's my favorite, would you like to try it?"

"That would be nice Uncle."

Perhaps... perhaps I didn't have to fear anything after all.
