I was grateful for mental acceleration, as it gave my mind enough time to emerge from its heightened state and consider the consequences of revealing the supernatural. On one hand, it was possible that the defense personnel already knew about it, but getting caught using it publicly might have severe consequences. On the other hand, I could hide myself and still enjoy flying without anyone knowing it was me.
Mental acceleration deactivated as the world sped up from a near standstill. I immediately cast a simple physical illusion spell I created, which bent and changed the light around me, allowing me to appear the same to anyone looking at me without actively affecting their minds.
Since light was part of the electromagnetic spectrum, accounting for the microwaves the jet was sending at me was simple when I applied the light illusion. Or should I call it the Electromagnetic Illusion? EM Illusion? Hmmm. Something to think about...
I grinned as I used a bit of magic to pick up on the radio chatter. Seriously, I have no idea why devils haven't taken over the world yet when I could derive so many new magics from fire manipulation.
"Tokyo Tower, this is ZERO6. We have bogeyo in sighto, and I tella you, it isa a UFO, repeat, bogey isa UaFaO!"
"Tokyo Tower, could you please repeat that?"
"ZERO7 here, ita is a turning flying saucer - Oh, sugoi! Bogey just went super sonic!"
I snickered to myself as I increased kept increasing my speed. Looks like they were ordered not to fire but to keep me in sight. Well, let's see how about we kick it up a notch. I dismissed my turbofan mana constructs, momentarily slowing down as I summoned a ramjet mana construct from storage.

The few seconds it took me to dismiss and deploy had me drop about a hundred knots, but with the supersonic airflow and no moving parts to be controlled, I could almost completely relax. I still couldn't let my guard down. This was a death world, after all, but other than that?
I grinned as I increased the heat in the ramjet mana construct under my wings, and I could feel the literal G's pressing on me. It was like an old friend's hug as I rarely felt G-forces that I could enjoy, as my body had become accustomed to accelerating during training.
Considering I was now leaving the fighter jets in the dust, passing Mach 4 before switching to my SCRAMJET constructs, I literally felt my wings dragging me forward as they kicked into gear, climbing beyond the height most military crafts could ever reach.
Soon, I began to see what I came here for and just entered into hypersonic range. At this point, I'd approximate my speed at Mach 6.6 or so. The heat from the air friction only provided me with more energy, which I redirected to the constructs instead of spending too much power.
I felt out of breath.
Not just because the sight took my breath away.
But also because the air up here was so thin.
I had no idea how much time I lost gazing as I flew past the beautiful scenery. It could have been minutes, or hours.
I could tell I can easily reach high hypersonic and probably reach the edge of the atmosphere, but unfortunately, there's almost no air at those altitudes.
I was able to continue at this altitude and easily breathe with a bit of magic, especially with the speed I'm moving. I'd estimate my current altitude to be around 70 to 80k feet.
For now, I turned towards the location that the Hashashin provided for me where Valerie was... actually... while I know the location on a map, how the hell am I supposed to navigate at this altitude?
I needed a HUD if I ever wanted to actually not get lost when flying at these speeds... because right now? As I sped through the air, passing through cities in fractions of a second?
I am completely and utterly lost.
