Into that Vast and Unrelenting Darkness (40K Xeno Civilization Quest)

Damn it, another really good reason why we can't pick up Enshrined Spirits this turn if we want to get the rewards from those two faith actions, and Network+Nuclear Material are one that we are likely to end up using a lot of, so we need to salvage that.

This plan completes the Heat of the Assembly, giving us the Warp through finishing the Lifeforce Batteries, and gives us almost a majority non-autocomplete on the Emulator. Beyond that it finished Education and Secondary Shrines, tops off the Defense Arrays and the Deep Space Monitors that have been SCREAMING at us we need more scanning capability, gets more LM from Naklis, and starts a Valiant if whatever the Monitors have spotted is going to become a problem.

ACD has been swapped from Extremely Advanced NukeTek to Toxel Doctrine from my original plan so that it hopefully wont degrade either, and I'm sending the Accomplishment over to one of the entire halves of the galaxy we are completely blind to so we at least know what's behind us.

Two big things this plan does: it starts upping our combat capabilities (starting Construct Valiant Class Ship, Orbital Defense Arrays, Secondary ShipShrines, and Engineering Improvization Doctrine) while also finally finishing Mystek Protective Wards (also taking Herdtemples so our Warp doesn't go into a deficit). Starting Frontier Hospital will also make the ships' logistics run a lot smoother as well, and Compulsory Secondary Education and Red Sun Expanded Monitoring will get us more ACD for the future.

The Endeavor's obviously in drydock, and the Accomplishment needs to help with Red Sun Expanded Monitoring (which I think will also harvest the stored ACD for next turn).

I feel so mixed about this. On the one , this plan is better than any other since it does Mega-Harvester , the FTH actions we need to do in order not to miss the benefits and the Improvisatiom doctrine at the same time. On the other , it does Revelation class scanner that is quite possibly the most useless and wasteful project ther is in ACD. Could I make a version of this plan without the scanner so I would be free from this contradiction?

If we'd finish the damned scanner by now we wouldn't be sinking so many ship actions trying to do basic area surveys.

The Revelation Scanner is described as completely revolutionizing our ability to explore, which will be quite helpful since we still haven't explored half of what's right next to us and have no idea what's going on there, and also boosts the effectiveness of our Deep Space Monitors, which I feel is very important given the what they've been seeing these past few turns:

Deep Space Monitoring System: A Fleet initiative that utilizes a great deal of surplus processing power to scan the sky both to map it out as well as detect incoming threats before they arrive, giving early warning to the Directorate against hostile threats. The phenomena in the Expanse seemed to be slowing down, but concerningly, observed trajectories indicated that it was slowly travelling in a path that would bring it to the Directorate eventually. Several among the Fleet had advocated for sending the Accomplishment on a fact-finding mission.
Emphasis not mine, BTW. It's bolded like this to grab our attention in the actual updates.

And since we've delayed so long that we've lost our chance to watch what's going on "as it happened," the only clues we'll be able to get on what's coming our way is going to be through our Deep Space Monitoring system, or whatever we can glean from the aftermath centuries if not millennia later via expedition, both of which would be improved with better scanning systems.

Edit: So to answer your question: I can't stop you from making a plan without it if you really want to, and if enough people agree and vote for it that's what we'll end up doing, but I consider the Revelation Scanner a very important part of my plan.

It sure does boost our exploration abilities , but why in the world would we need them? Seriously , when was the last time we actually implemented that we found? Was it like Blackholes? We already have a ton of options we need done yesterday , and this number grows every turn. Naklis elemental shrines alone unlocked EIGHT more options , and none of them are cheap so its not like they are getting done fast. Gestalt-protocol is laying forgotten since literally the first turn , and it is unclear how long it takes until it finally isn't. We need to do things , not unlock them. I honestly would've been fine with only one exploration ship , since the fact that this turn "Accomplishment found Glo-Coral Reefs on Eritheo, full of edible flora and fauna" does not equate to any real progress

[X] Plan: Sudden Defense Investments

We need to get a defence fleet since our enemies could just bombard us to oblivion at this moment. We did not even capture the abandon factories ruins we found yet!

Red Sun Monitering. Also our new orangified Grot. In the future, colonization projects and the military intelligence we need to not die the next time the Destroyers roll around.

I'd say we've had a fairly good track with exploration: we went west, found the black holes and Red Giants, stuck around to study them and got ourselves a new engine tech and a nice bonus ACD point generator. We went south and found the orks, then in trying to further our study of them ended up with the whole Monstro event we just finished up that got us orange orks. Exploration is also likely one of the best ways we have to prepare ourselves for the galaxy, being able to come across all sorts of bad shit far away from our home system rather than risking being blindsided by it getting close with us having no idea what its or how to deal with it.

I also feel like you're completely ignoring how it doesn't just improve exploration, but also boosts our Deep Space Monitors too. Which are now one of the two primary ways we have to figure our just what the fuck is coming in our direction after turning stars into Red Giants thousands of years early. The other primary way being to send a ship into the Expanse to keep exploring it.

We need to get a defence fleet since our enemies could just bombard us to oblivion at this moment. We did not even capture the abandon factories ruins we found yet!
If your biggest concern is building a defense fleet, could I convince you to vote for the plan that puts more points into a Valiant-class ship then Sudden Defense Investments?

The difference between my plan and the plan that gives the highest number of points to the Valiant Class is only 3 points though (22 vs 25). And my plan also completes the Engineering Improvization Doctrine and Mystek Protective Wards which Plan: Looking Over our Shoulder (the 25-point one) doesn't do.

Hmmmm, it's almost like taking the grot was a bad idea that could've vaporized the Endeavor among many other Bad Ends, who could've guessed.

Looking Over our Shoulder also significantly upgrades our DSM this turn to glean whatever we can from the end of what's going down in the Expanse before it ends completely, finishes the Assembly Heart to give us more EXP and all the Nuclear Material we'll need for the next couple turns to put out the Valiant class and some other NukeTek upgrades or whatever other actions consume it, while still setting it up so we'll still have enough points to bang out Mystek Protective Wards, the HerdTemples for the Warp it needs, and Toxel Doctrine the same turn we complete the Valiant.

No? Plan: Looking Over our Shoulder puts 0 points in all of these options.

EDIT: Sorry, it puts 5 points in Engineering Improvization Doctrine (out of 20). It doesn't put any points in the other projects you mentioned though.
