This sentence seems a bit too Cille.
Fixed, thanks.
DC is now 32. Tekla with Vestments is 22 Diplomacy, add a Major Boon gets us to 25, add a Free action gets us to 27 (because we can't go over 27), and we don't have the +1 to Diplomacy anymore. Basically last turn was our chance to approach the Westerlies and screwed up.
Enchanted Vestments only gets you up to 25 - buuut with the bonus still in play for another 2 months you're at 27 Diplomacy anyway.
You actually still have the bonus active - but
Agueda coming back (whenever that happens) may actually be an opportunity to smooth things over, simply by having him loudly screech "My subordinates did WHAT????" in the presence of the Westerlies and then apologize profusely.

Or for another approach, perhaps the (fake) team member that was assigned to approach to Westerlies died during the Beasts of Autumn.

On the other hand, I'm still confused by the whole "walk up to people and ask if they are loyal" strategy, since who would ever say no?
Do note that Tekla didn't actually put it that way in the meetings - he just summarized for you where each faction stood.

Is it just me, or does Xin Jin really seem like a social-specced Solar from Exalted? Effortlessly able to discern the factions wherever he goes, massive amounts of charisma, and an unbelievable amount of resources.

*I removed the Free Action from Counter Intrigue because you only have two free actions and spent three. This is less of a concern than it sounds, so long as you roll well enough on Event Chain 6.

There are now 15 rolls and I'm just eyeballing it but we did fail the Westerlies but that was just a longshot. We did well I think for coumtermeasures and event 6 since Oskaria apparently hates traitors and invaders.
