A hero is not someone who walks old ladies across the street and helps them with their daily chores! A hero is someone who makes you think and become a better person! PUPPETEER is above these mere mortals and makes them realize their worthlessness by testing their spirit and skills to the limit! She is the necessary evil that will make others become better through pain and disappointment!

...Or will be the harbinger of their downfall! Bwahahahaha!
I highly disagree with that description of of a hero.
But I do agree with the 'above mere mortals' and 'necessary evil' parts, so I'll join in on the evil laughter.
GYAHAHAHAHAHA!

Edit: damn it we need a song for the next schemes musical number. I don't care if it might not get us another +5, we need ro embrace this train ride to glory. Give me suggestions or I'll just try and mod All eyes on me to start hinting at a tragic backstory to the audience.
I actually have written a little song for our future Master of Puppets scheme. I'm just waiting for the update to come out first.

Well, it's more of an anti-hero thing, but let's be honest, I like the anti-heroes more because they're closer to me spiritually. Doing what you like and what you think is right for you(In doing so, having their own "code of honor"), rather than trying to look good for others. Obviously PUPPETEER wouldn't be a regular villain since she does it all just because she likes it and because that's just who she really is. I once heard the expression, "The greatest villains are the broken heroes."

That's also true, but the point here is that heroes are usually pretty strong individuals who don't bend to adversity, but become stronger from it. PUPPETEER already by stealing money not for his own enrichment, but to commit even more high-profile crimes above the level of mere bandits. She is similar to the Joker in this respect, he too committed crimes for the sake of the crimes themselves, and then threw the stolen diamonds down the drain. Here PUPPETEER does not intend to kill - she intends to become famous. That is, the show itself is important to her, and she can only make that show good if she is confronted by worthy enemy-heroes.

So I wouldn't be surprised if her other persona becomes a minor heroine and those who watch it will no longer be so sure who she really is. A hero by day and a villain by night.

The 'strong individuals who grow stronger from adversity' thing isn't just for Heroes, though it is usually seen as a Heroic Trait. Plenty of recurring villains do the same, though it's not as common.

My description of hero tends to be 'Someone who does the morally right thing', while anti-hero to me is 'Someone who is doing the morally right thing, for the wrong reasons'.

I don't see the PUPPETEER as a Hero, because she isn't doing morally right things, while Johanna I see as being currently a bit of both, wanting to be evil because it gives her the recognition she craves, but not actually being in it to hurt people. She's less a 'broken hero' and more of an un-realised hero, with her Villainy only being done because she sees it as the best way to get what she needs. But I digress, I don't see her as a Heroine because she priorities her Villainy over the morally correct choice, making her more of a Villain Protagonist in my eyes, though that may be just because I love Villain Protagonists.

In that case, a villain with principles? She achieves her goals (to be famous) by dubious means, but sticks to the boundaries she does not cross. One of the main rules is no killing. She's a thief and an artist.

illusionist sadist with the ability to change the color of her eyes and illusions in general. Or another image for the PUPPETEER.

June 1, 2015: Secret Hideout

(Iskander POV)

"What do I do, What Do I Do, WHAT DO I DO..."

Iskander watched as his master paced back and forth across the cavern floor in distress, pulling her hair and muttering to herself about her imminent doom.

"Is Master Johanna... alright?" He turned to ask the favorite puppet Presto, who was also watching Johanna, albeit with more visible nervousness.

"Not since Jaeger showed up, no." He promptly answered. "And I don't blame her. I dunno why or how on earth her parents' were convinced to let him join this band of ragtag pups, but chances are the reasons ain't good."

He worries too much about Johanna. Iskander thought.

Iskander had long since surrendered inwardly that yes, he did indeed care for his master. Her asorable precociousness, conquering charm, and sharp mind all reminded him of the whelps he had raised.

She was one of his children now, as he was her familiar. She was a kind mistress not just to him but to all those close to her. However, when pushed, she would not hesitate to become threatening.

Most other dragons would have scoffed at her being kind at all. Most other dragons were foolish. Dragons were not mindless beasts, and as such, they were to compose themselves with dignity and regalness.

Kindness was not a weakness in of itself, it was only a weakness if it kept her

Shaking these tangential thoughts from his head, he turned back to see that Johanna had fortunately calmed down by now. Though, the look of nervous apprehension was still clear on her face.

He could only hope that she would be okay.

Monthly Pay: 20D100 = $678

Living Situation:

You live in a rented house that you could potentially buy for yourself in the future.

You also have a hideout in a relatively nearby cavern and could possibly move in there permanently, but that would raise a lot of questions, and none of them would be good.

You currently have $266,761 in cold, hard currency, with some more in illiquid assets. You'll have to pay $3,000 in rent and expenses every month. You have a job now, though, so that helps.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Causing Chaos for Chuckles(Secretly): Honestly... you don't have much to do, so why not let your Vexes and Allays loose? They can keep the Paw Patrol busy with mundane and stupid issues, making them less likely to stumble upon or catch you should you be committing crimes soon. DC: 30/45/60

1D100+10(Allays)+10(Vexes)-10(New Paw Patrol Members-5(Neighborhood Watch)* = 55+10+10-10-5 = 60
*Forgot to add the -5 malus from the Neighborhood Watch.

Your Allays and Vexes had done marvelous work, as per usual.

Even with the Neighborhood Watch and the new Paw Patrol pups making things trickier, your little buddies had managed to sow the seeds of havoc in abundance, letting you reap all the benefits.

Now, it was pretty clear at this point that you were the one behind the chaos, but unless the Paw Patrol was able to actually catch your minions, they would be stuck dealing with the aftermath of their shenanigans.

Welcome to Adventure Bay, newbies.

Results:

+100 Notoriety. Everyone knows you're behind the recent string of accidents and mishaps, but they don't have any evidence to prove it. And given what happened after last time... they're gonna be pretty paranoid.

+100 VP Popularity. Everyone knows that you're behind this string of crimes, and as such, they've begun to speculate on what you'll do next.

The Paw Patrol have once again been distracted and tired out by your minions' shenanigans.

The Paw Patrol suffer a -10 malus during the Rumor Mill as well as during the next SUPERVILLAIN Scheme if done next Turn.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Hidout and A Second Home: Seeing as how you've got an evil lair but don't actually have anything in said lair, maybe you should make it a little bit more liveable? DC: 25/50

@SolAnon1 Omake = Autopass!

1D100-5(Neighborhood Watch)+25(Omake) = 29-5+25 = 49

*Forgot to add the -5 malus from the Neighborhood Watch.

Bloody hell, how on earth was putting furniture in your living room the hardest part of the month?!

Maybe it involved carrying heavy furniture over a harshly-beaten, overgrown hiking trail that you had messed up with only your own strength and your ten fairy-sized minions.

Still, at least you were able to make this place seem more like a second home. You'd gotten some more lights to make it easier to see, as well as some extra furniture, chests, etc.

You'd made yourself an improved workshop inside the cave and your Vexes and Allays some plastic playground sets. Presto also got some new costumes that he was excited to try out.

Iskander was just happy that you were putting in the effort to make your allies happier and more loyal.

Results:

The lair has been spruced up, and it is actually possible to live in it without your wits being bored.

Presto, Iskander, and the Allays and Vexes' opinions of you have been slightly increased.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Home Security: You should probably put in some effort to keep your hideout hidden from outsiders. Wouldn't want anyone accidentally stumbling across the cave like you did. DC: 25/50/75

1D100+15(Acolyte)+10(Presto)+10(Omake)-5(Neigborhood Watch) = 87+15+10+10-5 = Art!Crit! 117

Long story cut short, you'd gone absolute ham on implementing the wards and enchantments. Maybe a little too ham.

Anti-Magic Wards, Protective Wards, Wards that emitted creepy sounds, Hallucination Wards, Wards that told intruders to politely leave, Hiding Wards that hid you from ordinary people, Hiding Wards that hid you from Magic Users, etcetera etcetera!!

It had taken Iskander, Presto, and your Allays and Vexes physically holding you back to get you to stop.

Results:

Your hideout will not be found through non-magical methods unless they try really, really hard. It's practically invisible to Non-Magic Users.

It's not invisible to Magic Users, but it'll take a lot of effort for them to find it.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Planning Your Supervillain Scheme: Failing to plan is planning to fail. And you plan to only win. DC: 0/25/50/75
--[X] Master of Puppets

1D100+10(Omake)*-5(Neighborhood Watch) = 84+10-5 = 89

*Forgot to add this one.

Possible escape routes? Check.

List of people you could puppetify? Check.

Neighborhood Watch patrol routes? Check.

Place you could set up the final fight? Check.

Minions trained to follow your plans? Check

Double check everything to make sure? Check.

Yep. It's all coming together now...

Results:

+20 to all Rolls during the next Supervillain Scheme if done next Turn. SHOULD YOU ACTUALLY STICK TO THE PLAN THIS TIME.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] A Nice Walk: Just taking a nice walk with no strings attached should be good for you. DC: 10

1D100 = 65

Just having a nice walk with none of the stress of the month pounding upon your thoughts was a reward in of itself.

But breathing in the fresh air and taking in the beautiful sights and sounds around you, you realized that you hadn't truly appreciated Adventure Bay until now.

It was wonderful.

Results:

+5 to all Personal Rolls next Turn.

Johanna's mood has improved.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Workout: You've got muscles now, girl, and it shows. Keeping yourself in physical shape is a sweaty effort, but so very worth it. DC: 10/30/50

1D100+10(Well-Conditioned Athlete)+5(Self-Improvement!)* = 84+10+5 = 99

*Realized this technically counted as Self-Improvement.

You'd decided to go even harder than your usual workout routine, even deciding to go for pushups instead of the usual squats.

Looking back at your reflection in the mirror at the end of the month, you couldn't help but grin and appreciate how much more toned and sleek your body had become.

Aww, yeah! You're awesome and you know it!

Results:

Trait Upgraded!
Well-Conditioned Athlete: Now +30 to Physical Fighting Rolls and +15 to other Physical Activities.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Watching the Watch: While the Neighborhood Watch isn't too much of a hassle to deal with, it'd be prudent to keep an eye on their activities. Maybe you could convince Mr. Porter to help them... DC: 20/40

1D100+5(CP) = 45+5 = 50

It had been fairly easy to convince Mr. Porter to give the Neighborhood Watch a room to have their regular meetings in.

You'd already known that he'd been upset that he couldn't join due to having to watch over both his business and his grandson, so all you had needed to do was subtly mention that the Neighborhood Watch didn't have an official meeting place.

He took the hint and offered to let the Neighborhood Watch meet in the basement of his restaurant, even providing them snacks during their meetings. Snacks he usually sent you to give to them.

He got to contribute to his community, the Neighborhood Watch had an official meeting place, and you were able to spy on the Neighborhood Watch right in front of their eyes.

Win, win, SUPERWIN!!

Results:

The Neighborhood Watch Malus has been completely negated.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Junkyard Island: Rocky asked if you could accompany him to this trash-filled island out in the bay. He wanted some help collecting some of it for something he wanted to make. DC: 15

1D100+5(CP) = 50+5 = 55

When Rocky had asked you to help him get some stuff from what he had called "Junkyard Island", you hadn't expected the island to be as literal as the name had implied.

"How did all this trash manage to gather on this one island?" You asked Rocky as you loaded the last of the junk onto his truck-turned-tugboat.

His brand new truck-turned-tugboat, to be precise, which the Paw Patrol had somehow made within three months of the last one having been stolen.

"Probably the currents dragging most of the scrap and stuff over here." He helpfully replied, hopping onto the tugboat. "Thanks again for helping me, Johanna. I'd have asked the other pups, but I didn't want to bother them."

"That's nice of you." You told him, before a question popped up in your head.

"By the way, how are the newbies getting along?"

"Oh, they're doing great!" He happily responded. "The girls are fitting in just fine. Sylvia's been a real help with getting the new vehicles into commission. Jaeger's also been great, and he's given us some much needed experience. Merlin's been a bit cocky, though, and he doesn't seem to take Puppeteer seriously. Now..."

You simply listened as Rocky continued to ramble on about his new friends as you made your way back to the mainland.

Results:

+$500

Rocky's opinion of you has moderately increased.

You learn some new stuff about the new Paw Patrol members.

--------------------------------------------

-[X] Sensei Yumi: Your friend Yumi Pearson has offered to give you some lessons in martial arts any time you wish. While you do know how to fight now, it wouldn't hurt to learn how to fight better as well as spend more time with Yumi. DC: 30/50

1D100+20(Well-Conditioned)+5(CP)+5(Self-Improvement!)* = 89+20+5+5 = Art!Crit! 119
*Realized this also counted as Self-Improvement.

The conniving witch Sensei Yumi smiled at you.

"As you have proven to one of, if not the, best Martial Arts students I have taught, I figured we could move on to actual weapons."

Of course she knew how to use weapons, why wouldn't she? At this point, you could only wonder if Yumi was part of some sort of secret ninja clan or something.

The sad part was that it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to learn.

Pick One:

[] Bow and Arrow: Huh. Who would've known that the woman whose name literally translated to "bow" would be so good at using a bow?

[] Sword: A veritable classic of a weapon, the sword would be a useful generalist weapon to learn how to use.

[] Spear: While less popular than the sword, it has its merits, including its long reach the possbilites for slapstick comedy.

--------------------------------------------

A/N:

Thank goodness that I only accept Natural Crits as exploding dice because I would have maybe died due to you getting two Articial Crits. :V

Also, I'm making it so that the Notoriety, CP Popularity, and VP Popularity rewards require more X than the previous one.

Basically, it'll be like this:

1: 500
2: 1,000
3: 2,000
4: 5,000

Thoughts?

Also also, I'm actually interested in some omakes involving Johanna being transported to another fictional universe(Miraculous, Harry Potter, etc.)

Enjoy! :D

Yeah, I can compromise on that.
Almost got Ninja'd, but I saw the 'new posts' message right before I posted.

"Oh, they're doing great!" He happily responded. "The girls are fitting in just fine. Sylvia's been a real help with getting the new vehicles into commission. Merlin doesn't take us seriously.
He doesn't take us seriously.
He.
Doesn't.
Take.
Us.
Seriously.
We have to change that.

Also:
[X] Sword: A veritable classic of a weapon, the sword would be a useful generalist weapon to learn how to use.
I'm leaning towards the sword. We already have long-ranged thanks to our Magic, so we should probably learn to cover short range, while keeping our other hand open for Presto.

Master of Puppets: Digital2
Alright, here's my new villain song.

Master of Puppets

I'm the Puppeteer, the star of the show,
My power's strong and my fame will grow,
With Presto's wand, you'll be my new toy,
A puppet to be used for my amusement and joy.

Time to get this show on the road now,
I'll make you dance as I take a bow,
My legend will spread across the land
With my minions at my command.

I'll make the Paw Patrol pawns in my game,
Force them to play along as I increase my fame.
I'll make this city my theater stage,
Become the greatest villain of the modern age.

Time to get this show on the road now,
I'll make you dance as I take a bow,
My legend will spread across the land
With my minions at my command.

So come and see, the Puppeteer's show,
A spectacle of magic, and villainy, you'll know,
I'm a card carrying showwoman, no one can deny,
I'll be the star until the day I die!

I would prefer a pole to a spear, it would keep the enemy at a distance, but the damage would be crushing rather than slashing.

Anyway, here goes:

[x] Sword: A veritable classic of a weapon, the sword would be a useful generalist weapon to learn how to use.

That was for the Farmer Yumi omake, which Artificially Critted.

To be honest, the reward for the omake said that we get for all Yumi interactions +10, and the omake itself is written about stretching, not about wrestling, so it would be logical if you were to add 10+, but... ok, we'll leave that up to you. Just next time some throw will be too bad, and I'm sure it will be 100%, add a bonus to it, so that our heroine will be able to get out of there without catastrophic losses.

So to say, if you don't want to let PUPPETEER develop too quickly, then give her a chance to get out of a bad situation in case of bad throws.

Thanks, gunna fix it...

[X] Pole.
or
[X] Sword: A veritable classic of a weapon, the sword would be a useful generalist weapon to learn how to use.
As for the sword, is it possible for our heroine to make a sword hidden in an umbrella? That is, to use it both as a blunt weapon like a "regular bludgeon" and if you take it out of its sheath as a sword?
There's no write-ins, so for your vote to count you'll need to make it Spear.

Also, maayybee. Though, it'll be not artifact enchantment but something you technologically design.

Edit:

Or as @Warmach1ne32 said, just buy it. :V

Cane Swords do exist and it is much simpler to buy one off E-bay or something with our money.

I must have not been clear or made a mistake, so my apologies for that.

The +10 is for just this Turn's Yumi Action, nothing else. Also, Johanna hasn't learned any wrestling. Grappling to be sure, but not full-on wrestling.

[X] Sword: A veritable classic of a weapon, the sword would be a useful generalist weapon to learn how to use.

I'm all for the cane sword. It's a good weapon for a performer.

While I remember, I have a mini-plan I thought of:
Give the Alleys and Vexes dog whistles.
Tell them to wait until it's night-time and the dogs are asleep.
Go near their base, blow on the dog whistles, hide for about half an hour, repeat.
Can't foil our plans if they can't sleep!

...am I a bad person for proposing to deprive a bunch of dogs of sleep until they collapse? Maybe. Maybe we shouldn't do it too much. Just a couple of times, when they're making progress on finding us.
