[X] Execution()- Ok, not an actual execution, but... yeah, basically that. Just Breach() her and be done with it. Please, for the love of god, don't take that sentence out of context.

We plan on beating her up later anyway. Might as well do it now.

Actually if we put it off until we get to the top six we could likely get on good terms with her if we offer to ally with her. Making an offer or showing mercy would likely help her reach the top six spot and she may realize this.

[X] Offer()- "Outer lights on. Lumen, put the crystal down, we're talking to her first."Diplomacy: because second time's really the charm.

Uh guys? Shouldn't we try to talk our teammates out of starting fights in a place that could come down on our heads if we do too much damage to our surroundings?

-[X] Point out to Lumen that maybe throwing out explosions in this death trap of a maze may not be the best idea if we don't want to have the walls fall down on us. As long as we are in the maze it might be best to avoid any fights that may wreck the walls unless we have to and try to get out of here once we meet up with Creme.

Also, just for fun- anyone wanna guess what Lumen's Semblance is based on?
Kinda surprised you never got any guesses on this, but Lumen's a Polychromatic Drafter from Brent Weeks' Lightbringer series. It lets him physically manifest solid colors (though they can sometimes also be liquids or gases) or "Luxin", each color of which has different powers. I remember ultraviolet lets you leave marks/traps in the ultraviolet spectrum, whereas infra-red/sub-red lets you drain heat from the environment.... so you can throw it as a napalm grenade. That's why he's freezing. Oh yeah and the more you use luxin the CRAZIER you get, so I can see there's kind of a reason that people hate him.

@Prok, since I see folks talking about the Process, can I ask how Lumen's eyes look? Dilated, maybe a ring starting up... Oh and just to be a rebel:

[X] Mercy()- "Yeah, but she's gone now. So, let's talk about why you have mild hypothermia instead." She's obviously had a rough time of it, and you imagine that kind of gratitude will be useful later on. You know, assuming she can get away without alerting Lumen.

Who could this be, Creme?
It's a roll for who was running away from Lumen, and the quote itself is part of one of Buddy's lines from Lisa: The Joyful, and an accidental inspiration of Ada, design-wise, at least. I didn't even notice I'd, be nice Prok, you deserve it, 'taken inspiration from her' until a friend pointed it out to me and I realised I'd been listening to He's My Dad on repeat for 20 minutes. After that, I thought about changing her, and then the sun started to rise.

... Writing has done more damage to my ability to sleep in a timely manner than just about anything else.

In all honesty, it's just a stupid little thing that's a reference to what I ripped off, it's got no real impact on the story otherwise.

Correct! A little further than that, though- he's a superchromatic Prism. He doesn't need colours to draft, he just needs white light. And, since he's mostly stuck in darkness right now...

Each colour has an effect on the drafter's emotional state, and with how much Lumen drafts of each colour just for sheer utility, he... doesn't come across as the most stable person. He's nice enough, but the emotional effect of each type of Luxin does tend to have him... well, swinging from emotion to emotion like one of those sand pendulum things. Not large swings, not really, but... enough that people who are more perceptive of things like that might find the effect somewhat disconcerting.

He's just lucky enough to have been born able to use all seven colours, so if worst comes to the worst he can at least attempt to balance it out like Homer trying to balance out pep pills with sleeping pills.

It's also why the Transistor has such a hard time understanding what in heaven's name is going on when he drafts- Luxin is essentially solidified light, it just doesn't make sense in terms of Remnant's current understanding of physics. Y'know, like most Semblances.

As for his eyes... you'd be forgiven for thinking he's abusing some kind of drug. Or, heavily attracted to you. One of the two.

Ah yeah, I should have figured the superchromat part. ..."Seven colors" eh? You'd think with everyone reading X-Ray and Vav Lumen'd have found at least Chi by now.

Okay enough nerding over fantasy. I've been trying to come up with an argument that the Transistor should recognize Luxin for what it is because hey, Remnant has holograms, but I keep coming up with arguments that guarantee its confusion instead. Holograms are one thing, hard light is another, and giving light mass, scent, texture and magic powers is orders of magnitude beyond THAT.

Come to think of it, this is probably how Remnant's industrialization has progressed despite facing an ongoing extinction event. Weird ass Semblances get analyzed and reverse engineered. One guy with a lightning generating semblance meets a dude flying a kite and you're off to the races.

Food for thought and worldbuilding, and all that.

This is not the time to have a talk.

You know, Lumen's semblance reminds me a lot of the magic system of a series of fantasy books I read a while back. The system was based on the colours of the light spectrum as elements, everyone had a random amount of colours they could use, usually no more than three, and it's use caused one's eyes to gain the tint of said colour, going from the pupil towards the edge of the iris over time and use (lots of years). When it reached it, the person usually went mad to some degree, and began replacing parts of them with their elements.

Also, the powers manifested as these slime and crystal things just like Lumen is using. I don't remember all their properties, but red was pretty much fire and always manifested as this highly volatile red slime just like what he uses.

As a side note, I just finished binge reading this quest, so there's a chance that this has already been brought up.

It has been brought up, but only very recently. Have the books gone on sale or something?

I think we both read it in the past and joined at the same time. :V

So uhhh I had a real interesting thought: Velvet's Semblance copies weapons and fighting styles. If she copies Jaune, does she get the second Transistor we've been thinking about? And more importantly, would she get Functions?

I imagine that she would at best just get the Transistor and even then she couldn't his functions since only Jaune can do that. The Transistor just makes using his semblance safe for him.

True. I checked and she doesn't copy Semblances. But she does make weapon copies so it might count for Restore()ing the Transistor if we really mess it up. Then again it's hardlight so very technically it's not the Transistor at all unless hardlight circuits can conduct and I think I 404'd my brain.

tl;dr let's not.

(Unrelatedly and hilariously, Velvet's weapon strongly reminds me of Archer from FSN.)

EDIT: Another random thought: how strong is Jaune's Transistor telekinesis? Could we use the sword as a hoverboard? Landing strategy!

Is that confirmed though? From what I know, her weapon possibly copies weapons and we don't know what her semblance does. The fighting style part is just a popular fan-theory, unless I missed some WoG thing here.

It does make sense considering that her fight scenes used the same animations/fighting style as the people she was copying.
