@Prok a couple of thoughts
-Process units hitching a ride on the bottom of international airships to drop off mid-flight and seed the ground with mining expansion
-getting coverings/armor on top of the Transistor's microfracture points. Possibly disguised as decorations
-I think you misunderstood me about the math transfer. I meant things like mathematical proofs and conjectures. As in acting like a university math teacher, not an engineer

I think the most important question now would have to be is Penny coming to Beacon this year?

I love our quirky buddies, I love what you've done with Weiss, and I love that you are doing an actual school year... but I have GOT to know if everybody's favorite redhead if our Transistor will get as many opportunities to grow as a character as Jaune is going to get.

Also, since it wasn't at the end of last chapter, I am looking forward to a bunch of baby-bots squeaking, trilling and beeping at each other as they share data.

What I think people forget in terms of RWBY's weapons is that, while you may have a-

spins wheel

-battleaxe that-

pulls piece of paper out of hat

-turns into a cannon that fires-

throws dart at dartboard

-
miniature Dust-infused railway spikes at people, that still counts as one weapon.

Did you actually choose at random? Because that sounds awesome, useful, and exactly like something you could find in the show.

Peter Port's weapon is probably the funniest one, to me.

Everyone else in the world has a unique weapon, often with very specific ammunition requirements that must make supplying them a bitch and a half. I mean, what the shit is in Ooblek's thermos? Port throws something that goes kaboom down the barrel, follows it up with some machining scraps or whatever, and he's good to go.

Unless things have vastly changed, Penny is going to be attending Atlas Academy.
Maybe they have? I mean, Ironwood has had a lot to think about since the day he met Jaune. And as protective as he is of Penny, he might think that she's actually safer than usual when around Jaune and the Transistor. Or maybe Ironwood wants to use Penny to basically maintain contact with and keep tabs on Jaune. Who knows?

I can see it now. Weiss and Jaune blushing when they see each other (remembering the Night of Booze), and everyone on both teams latching on and teasing them mercilessly.
Cue everyone wondering how the hell Jaune Arc seems to be good friends with Weiss Schnee before they even started Beacon together.

"Oh, we just, uh...bonded over an assassination attempt. One moment, we're just talking and having coffee, and the next moment, we're hiding behind a table while a sniper and a van of gunmen are trying their best to kill us. And then we went clubbing afterwards and got drunk. You know how it goes."

...come to think of it, Weiss is going to be a lot more panicky and alarmed by any kind of reveal that Blake was White Fang. Nothing like a nearly successful assassination attempt like a week before you started school to jack up the fight-or-flight response from 0 to 11 in an instant.

X] The Suitcase
[X] A goddamn chainsaw shoots out of the top, revving up to its full speed with every clench of your fist. Less dangerous hand to God, you have never felt this fucking metal in your entire life. (A Goddamn Chainsaw- melee range, high maintenance/fuel cost, very low defence capability, extremely high damage output if used correctly.)

I mean, what the shit is in Ooblek's thermos?
Coffee.

made from fire dust.

What, did you think someone starts acting like that because of mere caffeine addiction?

(That's legitimately my headcanon, FWIW. Because there are two options: one, he has two reservoirs in the thermos, one for coffee and one for fire dust, or two, he's flat-out drinking his ammo. Given how he acts... yeah...)

Hell Jaune might be too. Probably less out of bias against Faunus but more being concerned over coincidence leading to Transistor doing some research, and any association with Adam Taurus would be a massive red flag.

Considering Ozpin pretty much knew, I doubt Jaune couldn't find something incriminating, and Jaune would absolutely get furious over the prospect of another assasin going after someone he cares about and wants to protect if past incidents are anything to expect.

[X] Not Quite As Silent, Exactly As Deadly
[x] The vambrace unfolds, twisting and widening until it becomes a large kite shield, twisting and rotating until you clench your fist again, and it locks into place. You don't miss the keen edge lining the shield. (Razor Shield, a short-range defensive option with limited offensive capability. Additional Aura bonus.)

WE MADE IT.
WE FUCKING MADE IT TO BEACON.
IT ONLY TOOK 2 YEARS.
Now to live long enough to see this quest to the end. Should only take about some quick maths later 10 years.
Welp, in for 2 years, in for a decade, I guess.

Unless Prok has legit made a chart for randomly rolling Hunter weaponry, I doubt it.

...actually, that would work well with the nonsense Hunters tend to pull out.
... That isn't a terrible idea. I might throw something like that together, maybe even make it a Google sheet so I can share it with people.

Blunderbusses are double-barrelled shotguns for people who can't be bothered with actually making custom ammunition but still want the big boom result.

I like 'em! It's a shame they went out of style, but, the advent of cased ammunition does necessitate the death of some weapons, I suppose.

I'm going to try and speed up. Hopefully.

I'm going to be streamlining things- not working on a week-by-week basis, if I can help it, for one, trimming storylines, just, cleaning up where I can so everything's a little more focused, now that you're not being given much choice on who you interact with. Hooray for cramped living quarters.

Anyway, the vote is closed, and, shock of shocks, Suitcase and Razor Shield win!

Now, to immediately contradict all of that stuff about speeding up...

I have a less than optimistic feeling about when the next update is going to come out. Real life is, slowly but surely catching up to me in ways I cannot avoid, I'm going to be dealing with a lot of bureaucracy for quite a while, from several different organisations, on top of dealing with what appears to be bank account fraud via Amazon, which is, infuriating, which is also on top of starting my next year of college next month...

I don't know. If I get something out in August, I'd call it a little miracle.

It's not on hiatus. I refuse to place this on hiatus ever because I know I wouldn't come back to it, hiatuses are how I slip my leash when I'm writing something. So it's not on hiatus, it's just... maybe going to be delayed a while.

As a side note, as a lot of Jaune's side-plots are entirely based on his incompetence, you've cut out a lot of faff from seasons 1 and 2.

He could that on both Yang and Blake.

There trailer show them doing a large list of crimes.

I'll be a cheeky dick and point out that this update didn't get the characters to Beacon. It only got them in front of the transportation that's actually going to bring them there.

In regards to airsickness, Jaune can just sit on his sword while it hovers. Which will adjust to changes in positioning doubtless more gracefully as opposed to the bumping and shaking of a typical aircraft tend to inflict on its passengers.

As for player's focus on Jaune using process matter that Prok brought up: I mostly agree, minus the 'turning Jaune into a legit avatar/half cyborg/etc' thing. But it would be great/funny if he always carried that suitcase around with him (yay B strength), have it be full of process matter, and then open it to reveal the perfect item for any given situation (because he transforms the matter into that while it's hidden). Just come off as being ridiculously prepared. "How did you know we'd need inflatable pool toys?" "Do you have a precog semblance?"

And then, an idea for 'when did the process get a chance to study/assimilate X object'. Just have a bit that shows a Cell unit camped out in the trash/a dump somewhere, absorbing novel items/materials, as a way to justify how they know how to imitate a toaster, toy magnet, tv screen, etc.
