Oh yeah, also, once you start GX and do the usual stuff like modifying the thread title, there's a few pre-existing thread tags that should probably be added. Most notably (and spoiler free), "believe in the power of song" and "determination to fist". The thread that was active while GX was airing had a lot of fun with custom thread tags.

Look, both Ford and I were watching this show and decided to have a bit of fun. :V

So, I came across someone else who's basically doing this with Symphogear, albeit with a metric ton of analysis and attention to detail (also a lot of gushing). Here's the link, if anybody wants to read it. They're currently on Episode 3 of G, so nothing spoilery for anybody who's read this thread.

That's some pretty in depth analysis.

She is going to completely lose her shit when Hibiki gets her arm ripped off

And then lose it again when she regrows it like a minute into the next ep :D

Also a bit too quick to jump on the Yuri subtext.
Also going to be hilarious when Shenshojin graduates that to outright text.

3.9
SymphoGX #9
Right, Carol apparently has a bunch of spare bodies she can transfer to on death, though she apparently needs to make more. Seems to be some teething problems, though.
Aaand the body's rejecting her somewhat because of the suicide. I'd assume the principle is somewhat similar to Fine's Descendent Hijack, and Elfnein is a repurposed spare body, hence the eyelink?
Dad is trying to call Hibiki. He does seem to want to reconnect, but Hibiki is still understandably not having it, despite Miku.
Oh hey, the idols are heading to Bluewing's family home. That she apparently hasn't been to for ten years. Quick look through past comments by me, and I don't think this has come up before. Did accidentally use Hibiki instead of Chris when talking about Chris's backstory in 1.8, though.
Apparently, last episode's stuff was to reroute power to a number of places, including the Relic-Stuff Dumping Ground. Seems the Posers were trying to discover it, to steal something from it.
Oh hey, that's why the Shrines were destroyed. They're part of a pre-Gear paranormal defense initiate focused on the leylines. Which they just got a map of.
And the Bluewing Familiy Home is part of the network, hence the visit. Of course, with the link, Carol just heard of these defense plans. Lovely.
Team #1 is Bluewing and Maria. I assume the other team is the FINE duo, with Chris subbing for Maria.
And out comes Bluewing's dad, the one mentioned to have cut the red tape. Apparently the Nazi's supernatural division still exists, and he's been getting reports from it?
...Did WingDad just call her useless to the family? Maria immediately interrupts.
Poser Green isn't getting past the ninja this time. Apparently, the people protecting WingDad are also able to sense her.
Oh hey, it's Sword Kick. Don't think we've seen that one for a while.
...Apparently, Swordbreaker isn't just a type of weapon. It's a concepthax type of weapon that breaks anything that's a "Sword". In other words, Shirou Emiya's worst nightmare is Poser Green.
Argetlam operates as a whipsword; Carol sent the perfect counter to the Symphogears sent. There goes that ley-marker.
And no interest in Argetlam. Which already destroyed Poser Blue. Apparently, they need to be killed by different Gears for the Plan to go off.
And Carol's revealed herself in the Dumping Grounds. All as keikaku, though Commander recognises that.
Bluewing's taking Swordbreaker hard. WingDad also wants to see her. Thankfully, it's just to give Nazi research on Alca-Noise.
They're made of magic everything alchemy material, right. With the information handed, he tells Bluewing to leave. Maria is still protesting.
Bluewing takes Maria to her room to explain. We're calling back to that time she trashed the hospital at mach speed again.
Exposition on the Kazanari family. GrandadWing had to choose between DadWing and Commander for the heir, but instead chose Bluewin-
What the actual fuck GrandWing. He impregnated Bluewing's mother in the name of 'keeping the family pure'. Which makes her technically a half-sister of her father and Commander. Hence, thanks to what the actual fuck, DadWing doesn't get on too well with her. And that was the start of her sword obsession. Symphogear-wielders without messed-up childhoods: 1
Ah, Carol's after a universal remote. Other stuff in the vault:Trioxin 245 'Annabelle', Grauswein, and fragments of G'Harne. Any of these ring bells?
Congratulations, you just gave her the location. All as keikaku.
Poser Green's back to try to get Bluewing to kill her. Argetlam gets batted aside, and Bluewing goes FULL SWORD. Bad idea against concepthax.
Carol has the remote. Are the Gears magic enough not to be controlled?
Bluewing's on the verge of breaking. Not good-Aaand Dadwing comes in to actually engage in some decent parenting. He kept Bluewing's room free of dust. Seems he does care for her, even if he doesn't show it. I think he didn't want her caught up in GrandWing's what the fuck scheme?
Bluewings's Ignited song takes its lyrics directly from her experience this episode. Meanwhile, Carol's still faltering from pain, which helps us when we're targeting what she wants to destroy it. Oh hey, missile directly to her.
Ah, bypassing the whole Anti-Sword thing by busting out flaming bursts of flame. Given how she's calling them wings, I'm assuming she's refrencing Redwing with them.
BLUEWING used FLAME WHEEL! It's super-effective! Poser Green died! All as keikaku!
(Post-episode stinger: Hibiki's dad really wants to reconnect with her. She's really not having it.)
The missile's been stopped?! Why is that cackle familiar?!? VER?!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK?!

And once again, Episode 9 is a doozy episode with one hell of a cliffhanger.

Right, Carol apparently has a bunch of spare bodies she can transfer to on death, though she apparently needs to make more. Seems to be some teething problems, though.

No Carol, you are the clones. And Carol was clones.

Oh hey, that's why the Shrines were destroyed. They're part of a pre-Gear paranormal defense initiate focused on the leylines. Which they just got a map of.

Yet another weird bit of world-building - how mysticism and ley lines and the like are all apparently a known thing that governments have mystical task forces to keep under control. It's pretty cool, just...an odd thing to have mentioned off-hand, I think.

...Apparently, Swordbreaker isn't just a type of weapon. It's a concepthax type of weapon that breaks anything that's a "Sword". In other words, Shirou Emiya's worst nightmare is Poser Green.

Mmmmmmm so I have opinions on this, and how it's resolved. I understand that the reason why Tsubasa is able to break them and off Poser Green is because she's let go of the idea of her as a "sword", so the Swordbreakers aren't effective anymore. That makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is that Ame no Habakiri is still a fucking sword regardless of what you're calling it or calling yourself while you're wielding it. It's still a sword, which means it should still get fucked on contact. Mrgh. I think it does injustice to the hax that is Conceptual Weaponry, but it's just one of the hills I'll someday die on.

Ahahahah I'd almost forgotten this was the episode where this happens. The best thing I can think of here is that "at least it's not incest" because MomWing and GrandWing presumably aren't related (though if they somehow were then I am throwing my hands in the air and giving up on everyone not Tsubasa or Commander).

Actually, I wonder what Tsubasa's relationship with her mom is? We don't really get much description there.

The missile's been stopped?! Why is that cackle familiar?!? VER?!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK?!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE HERO OF TRUTH HAS ARRIVED.

No seriously though, this was A) a big fucking twist, and B) really, really cool. I don't think anyone expected Dr. Ver to come back, and especially not in so...well, badass a manner. Think about it. Dude spent pretty much all of last season running away from any fight he wasn't a comfortable distance from. He's not a fighter. And yet here, his first reaction to getting intruded into the fight is to jump in front of a missile, eat it, and do a Kamen Rider/Super Sentai pose while spouting a one-liner. It's entirely possible he's this brave only because he's just that nuts, but it impressed me. (Any mention of him Taking a Level in Badass or similar on the TvTropes page with reference to this can proooobably be sourced back to me eventually after I watched this episode).

Now, extra materials time! His arm lets him control and consume relics, so they obviously didn't want him to be able to get into contact with any. I'm not sure why they thought in their underwater Relic Vault was the right place for that, but eh. The point is that they ended up making his cell out of completely normal materials - despite it's location, it's the exact same kind of cell as you'd find in pretty much any prison anywhere. No Relics for him to work with, and so a prison he couldn't escape from.

No seriously. I cant for the life of me recall any symphogeah users not having fucked up childhoods.

Technically Miku!

Remember that getting killed by Ignite is part of their plan. My headcanon is that she intentionally deactivated the conceptual hax at the last moment, because once Ignite was active, the manner of her death was irrelevant.
Miku get Symphogear again when

(Seriously, has someone written a fanfic of this or something at least?

...a good one?)
@Azecreth has plans.

I am intrigued.

Also, @Grue - one more thing: Check out Carol's expression when Doctor Ver does his big "MAN OF TRUTH" thing. She's probably the one person who is the most shocked by this development, because at least the Two-Pack and Chris have met Dr. Ver before. From Carol's perspective? She's about to be out another body less than a day after waking up again, and then this crazy guy in a lapcoat jumps in front of her, eats the missile, and proclaims himself to be a "Man of Truth" while doing a silly pose.

She's got to be so confused by all this. Or at least just rapidly trying to adjust.

Yeah, that scene is made as much by Carol's 'what the fuck' reaction as much as it is by Ver's... Verishness.

Doesn't she need to drug herself to dangerous levels to use Symphogear? Same with any other average Lydian student?

Don't think blades of Ame-no-Habariki actually hit with Flame Wheel, either. Presumably, you need to get past the not-a-sword flame wings to hit the actually-a-sword Gear.

Remember how Tsubasa was able to counter Ver's sync rate lowering gas by scaling back to her season 1 stuff? That implies that practice and leveling up gradually increases your sync rate, which in theory should reduce the need for drugs.

Also kinda implied that in G, Kirika and Shirabe couldn't activate their Gears at all without drugs, yet now they can do so at the cost of lots of self-harm.

Another thing to keep in mind; Miku probably is not a good match to Shen Sho Jing and only able to sync with it at all because of Ver's Linker. If the crew want Miku to become another proper gear user, then it's probably better to find another gear that's more compatible to her.

Shen Sho Jing already got disintegrated. SONG also lacks proper know-how to make another Symphogear from a relic (Not that it would stop the creators if they want that in the next season.) So, the most likely outcome for that scenario is that they have spare gear somewhere for Miku to use. Which would beg the question of why they never pull it out to test with her before.

They know how to make new Gears now, because of Elfnine, and it's implied that Ver's SD card contains the secret of how to make LiNKER.

They never really made it clear whether she knows how to make new gear or just fix and mod old one, did they?

Though modding gears with Deinsleif -I think that's how it's spelled- does lean it more toward knowing how to make new ones, I agree.
