Senki Zesshou Symphogear AXZ #1
Fair warning to people from the future: I'm currently watching these with quick'n dirty subs. So no lyrical translations for me.
Ah, the classical rush to complete all the homework before holidays end. Hands up everyone who's experienced that.
...The due date got postponed. Hibiki didn't do it before school hit. GENOCIDE isn't an excuse, you had plenty of time after that even considering Ozy.
Looks like Miku's bailing her out, being thanked with untranslated Spanish. Or she would, if SONG hadn't plonked down a helicopter just now. Duty calls.
PFFTHAHAHA. Qwiksubber subbed Dess Works as [KIRIKA BEING KIRIKA].
Down goes Bikki. I think Chris threw a shoe at her.
MEANWHILE, IN THE AMAZON: Crocodiles. And apparently some soldiers of some kind. Given the comments on being unharmable by mundane armaments, I think SONG got sent in to deal with someone with stray magitech.
Why the hell do these guys have Alcanoise launchers?!
Unfortunately for them, they have Tsubasa's Bladebike coming in. Their odds are not good.
Oh hey, a replacement for Radiant Force as the ninja and other two glide in. CURSE YOU KWIKSUBS.
Ogawa's apparently mastered Ninja Qwik Movement. Tsubasa's basically proved that mundane armanents are useless against experienced Symphogears.
Tsubasa's aping Shirabe's vertical saw. Meanwhile, firepower does 0 DAMAGE to Chris. She wasn't even using significant defences.
Pretty much everyone is trying to run the fuck away now. Tank's attempt at buying time by shelling Hibiki is singularly useless.
And now they've upgraded to using rocket shells. Unfortunately, those get returned to sender. Symphogears be bullshit.
...Is that an airship?
They try airdropping the SONG helicopters.
0. Damage. Admittedly by virtue of sticking the Gears above the rotors.
Bad Guys are calling bullshit. I somehow don't think missile spam is going to help, Chris can do that already.
Tsubasa and Bikki are using the missilespam as their road to the airship. I think that backfired.
Hah. That copter scene from the trailer was
letting a missile pass through it, from the looks of it.
...I think Tsubasa uprgaded her bladekick. That's a
big sword.
And by big, I mean
literally cleaved the airship in half. Hibiki follows by grabbing the bad guy and Drill Breaking her way out of there.
Upgrades all around. We've gone from MEGADEF PARTY to MEGADEF INFINITY.
Tsubasa now hovers over water. Can't complain, she learned Ninja Waterwalking back in S3.
And now the cleanup and civilians injured by this mess. Chris isn't happy at all-understandable, given she was in exactly this kind of situation until S1 started.
Explanation time. TLDR: It's the Illuminati.
Non TLDR: Maria's been investigating under a false identity, and kept running into the Illuminati. Apparently they were a background supplier for Carol last season.
...and also the people pulling the strings of FINE the group, at least until they broke off far as I can tell. I see they're the Greater Scope Villians.
They're presumably the ones that have been supplying Alca-Noise to-
WAIT WHAT. That reaction seems to indicate that that's the place Chris was bailed from. Make that since the
beginning, though I suspect Fine derailed a few of their plans.
Team Fine are really short on Linker. Looks like they're sidelined for a while.
More lack of dess subbing. Jii is also unsubbed. Meanwhile Chris PTSDs.
Another mission, this time against a chemical plant. I assume Alcanoise are there, but why is the Illuminati supplying them?
PTSD flashback. Young Chris was understandably not in a good headspace when her parents died. I suspect any Ignite attempt there's going to fail.
CURSE YOU QWIKSUBS Mk2. Transformations have been ramped up another notch.
Apparently Chris now uses big bows for nonnamed attacks. Again, an upgrade.
Villains going Fuck It Mk2. Giant Noise has been busted out with something that looks vaugely like a mini Noise Gunner.
The
actual bow upgrade is basically Unlimited Lost Works. I think the
intent is to hit the glowy things and blow the place to kingdom come.
The scarf now does attacks. Stop stealing my ideas for alternate usages of Gungnir.
Y'know, given they now have a style for attack cutins for Hibiki,
I'd actually like to see some outside finales.
MEANWHILE, what's probably the leader of the bad guys thinks he's safe because of some barrier. Let's see how long that lasts.
Not long at all, apparently. Looks like SONG's been played like fiddles; I know these are Illuminati members, and they've been using SONG to flush these guys into their stronghold.
Well these Alchemists are singing a lot sooner than Carol did. CURSE YOU QWIKSUBS.
They're
supposed to aid anyone affiliated with the Illuminati, such as these guys. I somehow don't think these guys are getting help.
Aaand apparently they can dissolve anyone around. Not sure if that needs Illuminati pins, given they were glowing.
I have a feeling those were souls being collected. FMA-style Philosopher's Stone, anyone? They also haven't noticed SONG's agents hiding out to get info on this.
Girl with a snakeye encased in crystal. Reminds me of Elfnein. Is this some sort of Complete Relic?
And there goes SONG's cover. They make the wise decision to immediately GTFO.
WELP. They just used the souls to summon a
Wyrm. There goes formerly-nameless SONG agents.
They're using the souls to fuel their 'revolution'. What that is is unknown, but the Wyrm's about to get blindsided by Argetlam.
Oh, and ZABABA. OF COURSE THAT'S WHEN THE EPISODE ENDS. Looks like the credits are the
other triosong. CURSE YOU QWIKSUBS.
Not quite as exciting as the shuttle, but still a strong start here. Now off to the threads where I can now go read spoilers.
