    -Wait, does this mean XD will eventually get a Commander boss fight? Complete with cutin cards?
    -Apparently AUjuro's opinion on mainline Genjuro is shared by ZABABA. Maria down.
    -And that's Bikki casually blocked and thrown away. Noise are literally the only reason Commander isn't fielded more often.
    -WHAT THE HELL IS HE JUST CASUALLY CATCHING CHRIS'S MEGADEF PARTY MISSILES?! AND THROWING THEM BACK?!?
    -...Ah. Genjuro is trying to get them to work as a six-woman team to bring him down, rather than individually attacking.

    -Apparently the altar is materialising from Germain. An incidental fuck you to Adam by the way. And incoming Gear-Calig fight.
    -Ah, so Tsubasa managed to convince Chris after all.
    -...Y'know, I don't actually remember seeing Chris's parents before this flashback. She largely takes after her mother.
    -Bloody terrrorists. Sneaking in explosives in the legitimate supplies of people trying to help people doesn't make you out to be good guys.
    -OF BLOODY COURSE HISTORY DECIDES TO REPEAT ITSELF. THE ALCHEMISTS DON'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT CIVILIAN CASUALTIES. Probably going to be backfiring similarly to attacking Miku for Hibiki though.
    -HISTORY REPEATS. Pretty sure Sonya and co are stuck under debry now.
    -Of course, Chris now can't fire without hitting the building. Theoretically letting Caligstroto attack at will.
    -Theoretically being the operative word, Caligstroto forgot about the reinforcements.
    -And the reinforcements are off in a Barrier. Looks like we're getting the OP's first teamup.
    -Damnit Maria, you already recieved that kind of thing from Genjuro. IGNITE might me an idea unless you want to save it for the unified Alchemists.
    -And looks like Calig didn't count on the civilians being able to distract her. Stefan's not just going to sit by and let history repeat itself.
    -And that speech from him's strengthened Chris's resolve. Time for the comeback.

    -Huh. Are we going to get duets for each OP pair? Come to think of it, Chris and Maria are actually a good match for that; both define themselves a lot from their dark pasts.
    -I think that's the actual principle behind this whole thing; compatible pairs to pull a ZABABA. Of course, I suspect ZABABA-likes are probably the most efficient-similar pairings for duo songs are probably ZWEI WING and MikuBikki-but this should probably be enough to take this boss down.
    -Yep, Genjuro's confirmed that's the idea. But it's for universal compatability. They can pull this with any of their Gears.
    -...Did Maria and Chris just combine into a vehicle? Incidentally apparently named after the song, [CHANGE THE FUTURE]
    -And another Alchemist bites the dust. Caligstroto's apparently outright gone, so Adam's going to use Prelati for what I suspect is entirely power for himself. If not that, Germain will sacrifice herself for what turns out to be nothing.
    -Well thanks for confirming the obvious, Adam. Germain's probably going to end up realising what Maria did about Ver way too late.
    -I think Adam's wording is telling there. "Power on par with the old opressors" rather than "Power to free opression". 'Gates of heaven won't open to kindness' my ass.

    Greatest fight scene of the entire season so far. Its incredibly difficult to top something this glorious.

    -Meanwhile, seems Team Quiet are having teething problems with their duo. Universal compatability has a way to go.

    -YEP. Manager proceeds to Substitute out of the way of the Buzzsaw Kick.
    -Right, Team Baka apparently has no issues, but Shirabe's too focused on her love for Kirika to be able to team. No prizes on guessing what this episode will be about.
    -Shirabe, your song is outright telling you to stop lone wolfing. This is probably only going to result in Manager behind you.

    -As was guessable from last season, most shrines(and presumably similar religious places around the world) are plonked on the laylines. This Moon Shrine apparently has a relevant legend though.
    -FLASHBACK NO JUTSU returns back to FIS, and I think I recognise those generic background characters from the last flashback.
    -Right, apparently Shirabe's an amnesiac with a line-of-sight name. Something bad presumably happened for her actual name to be too bloodstained. Meanwhile, Kirika's birthday isn't technically her birthday.
    -Bunnies guarding the shrine makes sense. Moon Rabbits.
    -...The shrines draw out constellations? In any case, gods descending at the area in myth almost certianly stems from something (perhaps it's a teleportation spot to the Moon?), and it's presumably going to be thrown in reverse by Adam.
    -Huh, Prelati's back in action. And she. Drinks. Milk.
    -Caligstroto trusts Adam about as much as we all do, and she managed to relay the info to Prelati before she got Change The Future'd. Wonder if this will result in a Shirabe being pulled?
    -Are the Illuminati going to be busting keystones like Carol did?
    -I'm liking this head priest, he seems like a pretty cool guy.
    -Right, Hedgehog's Dilemma from someone generally asocial. Is that some of the same fears Kirika had back when she thought she was Fine I see?
    -Apparently Tiki wants to be a real girl because Adam obsession. This'll end well.
    -Very well, given how Prelati is confronting Adam over his bullshit.
    -To the surprise of absolutely noone, Less Heroic Ver wants the power for himself. Looks like he's counting on the Symphogears to kill off Prelati. And this isn't the Hibiki focus episode.
    -Shirabe's run off, so it's Tsubasa's bike that's deployed to catch up.
    -I see we're going for Justifaiz here. Prelati wants to get to Germain ASAP, she doesn't want to have to deal with Symphogears stopping her.
    -Even Shirabe knows exactly who Tsubasa's referring to when comparing her past. For the corresponding XDU universe, this probably hits even harder because we see Kanade pull the exact same thing.
    -HERE COMES THE SECOND DUET. Pretty sure that Tsubasa noticed something off when Prelati agreed about noone having divine power.
    -And the duo attack: Racing Duet of Wind and Moon. Probably not the song name this time.
    -Another one bites the dust. Saint-Germain's probably ending up killed for Adam's power trip.
    -In case you hadn't noticed, Tiki isn't much less of an ass than Adam.
    -There's a suspicious amount of time left at the start of the credits. My stinger senses are tingling.
    -Not much to this stinger, just that the Symphogears know where Germain is now.

    While people on SB and SV's symphogear threads aren't happy about the lack of communication between Alchemists and SONG, I'm a bit less harsh on it(like I was with Bikkidad) because I can see where it fits into the theming; the Illuminati's been consistent in being what the trio hate; for all they claim to want to break the Curse of Balal, they're the ones affected most for it, for all they want to stop opression, they're lead by an opressor who rules via migh.

    In the end, after shedding many tears, the reality you face is an eternally cruel conclusion.

    -Finedammit Germain, don't tell me you're going to sacrifice yourself for Adam's powertrip.
    -Like Nui Harime, Tiki's cute facade hides that she's just as amoral as Adam. Given Adam presumably made her, makes sense.
    -Holy Moon Ruins. Hibiki's summer homework has finally been conquered. Also, that is a bad Tiki pun in the episode title.
    -Apparently it's Kaixa Day over in Symphogear land as well-Wait, no, that's in two days. I have a feeling Hibiki's birthday's going to end up on the climax.
    -TsunChris.exe. Apparently ZABABA hadn't learned of Hibiki's birthday last season.
    -The Orion Shrine Area's being outright evacuated because of the impending finale. At least they have warning this time. Speculation from Tsubasa is that they're trying to bring forth a god.
    -NAZI SCIENCE apparently had a way to kill gods. Unfortunately Adam nuked it. The fact that Adam nuked it, however, indicates he's afraid of it coming out.
    -I see Maria's going the same line of thought I am RE determination to fist. Tsubasa, however, notes Gungnir has no godslaying legends.
    -Kirika's on a birthday party track. I'm dubious on the show's 'naive' track it's going down here; optimistic and naive are not the same things.
    -THERE GOES THE SHRINE GUARDS, AS PREDICTED. Of course we're ending this on the Moon Shrine; this plan is Fine Boogaloo jacked by Ver Boogaloo. Also Germain is a Nudist too.
    -YEP. GERMAIN'S SACRIFICING HERSELF. There goes Adam's last obstacle other than a good fisting.
    -...Did the Illuminati fail to consider that the Japanese had something to stop leyline abuse? YEP. Once again, they fail to learn from a previous season.
    -Wait a second, is that the Swansong melody in Gungnir's Irish style?
    -I'm liking this intro to an assumed duo song. And nice callback there from Germain.
    -Well this song is refuting Germain's worldveiw. At least, until it gets interrupted by Hydro Pump.
    -GERMAIN IS A HARD WOMAN MAKING HARD DECISIONS. Also explicitly sunk cost fallacy.
    -And Germain goes for Hibiki's heart. Unfortunately, she forgot that Hibiki's had thrusters since Season One. Don't get in melee range of the melee Gearwielder.
    -Today's ridiculous Symphogear move: Attaching Hibiki to your foot to use her fists for a Rider Kick.
    -Well this music isn't good. I don't think Germain's going to back down. Sunk cost. Even if she's become the opressor, she's sacrificed too much for her to consider stopping.
    -Oooor that kick could've taken her energy out. That works too.
    -Oh hey, piano version of Bikki's current song as she opens her hand. I think, like Fine, Hibiki's gotten through to her? Which presumably means it's time for Adam to ruin everything.
    -Right on cue. Apparently the plan proceeded far enough to allow Adam to use the SPACE LINES.
    -To the surprise of absolutely noone, Adam has no intention of breaking the chains of opression.
    -And there he goes beaming things with over-wait a second, that sounds like a Swansong.
    -WELP. Out goes Kirika for the finale. Meanwhile, Adam raises defeat flags by apparently being unstoppable once the ritual finishes.
    -At the very least, Germain's now on their side. Took sunk cost getting aimed at Adam, though.

    Honestly, this was largely obligatory fight and setup for a multi-episode final battle.

    She's coming back at least when everyone goes X-Drive. Maybe not before then, but she's definitely not out for the rest of the season, barring weird cliffhanger hijinks leading into S5.

    You say that like it's a low chance, but this is the first time they've actually had advance notice that they'd actually get another season, so I wouldn't actually think it's that remote a possibility.

    I get the impression that Old Man Kazanari is could kick Genjuro's ass six ways from Sunday with one leg, no arms, and on 72 hours of no sleep.

    I'm not sure how that's going to help here, but I suspect he's going to take to the field in some capacity.

    He did however watch all of Hibiki's previous fights with alchemists in both this season and the previous one enough to know that trying to block her punches is a bad idea, and instead tries to just dodge everything.

    -I agree with Caligstroto's opinion here. This'd have been glorious to shove in the face of Adam, but at least they're punching Opression in the face with it, and they can always pull a temporary team with SONG for the purpose of taking down Adam.

    Best part(Or worst part). He doesn't even look worth X-driving on. Guess Fine was really laid back when she kicked their asses centuries ago. At least Carol had an ultimate lion mecha, while Fine had Kadingr and Nehushtan armor. G had the Nephilim which they had to seal to beat. This guy? None, doesn't even seem to have a fallback.

    That's one of the big problems with this episode - after I watched it I did not feel hyped for the finale, precisely because it doesn't feel like there's a real threat around right now. Adam the group could probably beat with a six-gear Ignite song, and unless Hibiki can't just keep punching the divine power for some reason they can just keep him from being able to grab it until he's junk.

    Last episode we had the cliffhanger of divine!Hibiki being born and fucking up everyone's day with divine power and that......went nowhere? It was resolved in half an episode. Then we had America launch a NUKE AT JAPAN WHAT THE FUCK WRITERS LETS HAVE AMERICAN UNILATERALLY DECIDE TO NUKE JAPAN THAT"S A FUCKING GREAT IDEA YEAH NO WAY THAT"S A FUCKING AWFUL THING TO HAVE HAPPEN NOPE NOT AT ALL DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME JAPAN GOT NUKED BY AMERICA THAT WAS A FANTASTIC TIME WASN"T IT for the sole purpose of killing off the Alchemists to keep cast bloat down.

    And then it ends, like last episode did, with Adam trying to put the divine power into his arm and Hibiki interrupting it and stopping him from accomplishing that. We have gone full circle and ended where the last episode did, rendering the entire contents of this episode meaningless in the overarching plot of this season.

    Congratulations, Symphogear. Your second-to-last episode was basically filler.

    That being said I really like the Alchemist's song, especially now that I have the lyrics. It's exactly the kind of "fuck the world and everyone who tells me I can't" thing that resonates with me.

    Presumably yes. I actually recognized without looking up first that the Anunnaki are a group of Sumerian Gods.
